Sunline Shooter vs sniper
At the Bassmaster Elite Series on Okeechobee yesterday, my pro told me that he and many of his friends use Sniper for 14# and lighter, Shooter 16# and up. Even tho mine was sponsored by them, many others who are not will use either the same way also. ( unles of course they have other line sponsors) Mike Mike

Bladed Vibrating Jig : Line Recommendation ?
12# Yo-Zuri for all moving baits. I tried flouro but just didn't see the need for it, especially top of the line stuff (Any Sunline product or worse yet Tatsu) Its strong, workable, diameter is in line with any flouro and holds a knot as good as any. And yes it's cheap, but that is not a concern to me when it comes to fishing line. Mike

Reels for NRX 843 MBR
I have a MBR 843C GLX with a Chronarch 100SF reel spooled with 14# Sniper for all weightless presentations and wouldn't change a thing. Mike

Crankbait Line
I use Yo Zuri for all moving reaction baits...Flouro is not THAT much of an advantage and I don't use mono for anything...Can't stand the stuff. Mike

2017 Goals
My goal is to be more successful from the back of the boat when my boater is flipping a weed line with the trolling motor turned up.. I know it's counter productive, but you'd be amazed by how many guys down here do just that. Then when they slow down, and if he's any good, there's not much time or productive water left that I'll have a fighting chance to make a worthwhile flip/pitch. Throwing into open water with a different presentation can be a waste of time more times than not. To me it's the worst part of being a tournament co angler. Mike

Finding Beds
At a tournament on Okeechobee last weekend we pulled into an area that both my boater and I knew it had a hard shell bottom. Believe me when I tell you there must have been 500 beds in a 100 yard area. They were right next to each other in a line. Move 5 ft and another line. Darnest thing we ever saw, all in 1.5 to 1.8 fow. This area was 100 yards from a reed line with submerged hydrilla and emerging Kissimmee grass surrounding it. Crazy thing was there was only 1 female still on a bed. My boater asked if I wanted to try and get her and I said no. If you want go ahead but I'd rather leave her alone. This was in a B.A.S.S. Nations pro am qualifier for the State Championship so there was a lot on the line. Point is, if you don't have an area that was suggested to look for, just look for the shallowest area with a hard bottom and chances are you'll find a bed or 2. Mike

How To Use A Keitech Swing Impact
Why does it matter reading an old post full of questions and answers. If I wasn't interested, I wouldn't open it. I don't look at the date when a thread was started. If it's title interests me or if I think I can add to the discussion and maybe help somebody out I'll open it, if not I move on. Mike

Fluorocarbon not breaking at the knot
I use Flouro line a lot..Used Invisex but now nothing but Sniper. Point is no matter what line you're useing always check for nicks, scrapes or any other imperfections. I have a habit of re tying my knot after every 3rd or 4th fish and the night before any outing regardless if I used that set up previously or not. While doing that, as Darren. said, I'll run a rods length of line through my fingers and cut off as much as I think I should. Is it necessary?.... No probably not. Do I go through more line than maybe I should?...Probably But The advantages of useing quality Flouro line to me vastly out weighs this one negative. But to me it's worth the alternative.. Mike

Pitching Rod Length
If I need to pitch more than 10ft, 2"- 3" more in rod length isn't really gonna give me that big of an advantage. To me it's all in the reel setup, thumb disipline, and the rods handle length. Use what you're comfortable with Mike

Best Bang for $ Fluorocarbon
If Sniper "worked good" and have "very few breakoff's" and only wish it was "a touch more limp" Try useing some Line and Lure the night before any outing. IMHO, You won't be looking around anymore Mike
