  1. Between Fathers Day and my birthday I've been getting a bunch of gift cards from Bass Pro. Since I was getting low on my supply of weights I used them all up on Strike King tungsten. I was tempted to pick up thier brand but didn't. Just curious, what do you guys like or doesn't it matter? Thanks Mike
  2. Ditto
  3. I take off all plastics and hook onto the keeper. For hard baits I leave them tied on and hook on the rod. Back off the drag on all. I retie everything before useing it again. . Mike
  4. Google "The Stupid Tube Rig" I've been useing this for years and it works! (Could never figure out how to post pictures here, or I would for you) Mike

  8. There is no "Best", I use Power Pro and have for years and like it..Tried Kansen and took it off after one outing catching one fish. Thinking of trying the new Seaguar black Flippin line soon. Point is, what I like you may not..There is no be all end all. Mike
  9. If you're gonna use that rod the best advise I can give you is to use at least 50# braid, lock it down and keep your thumb on the spool..Get it's head up as soon as you can and drag her out. Don't let it go back down, you will not have enough power in a standard med/heavy rod to fight it as WRB said. Since you're flippin and not pitchin, it will be easier to horse it in but having the proper equipment would be helpful. Mike
  10. I use 14# Sniper on my "all around" baitcaster setup which includes throwing a stick bait. Mike
  11. Mama told me once..."Michael, You know why giving is always better than receiving? Because it will ALWAYS make you feel better" God I miss that women Mike
  12. Agree with Catt, The Heddon Zara Spook first and foremost for walking and Scum Frog for frogging. Mike

Keel weighted hook by any manufacturer you like. Moaner is the most popular on here. Use whatever weight you want/need for the waters you fish. I always use a 4/0 size hook. Tip...Don't forget about the Cut R. Good Luck Mike

4.... I really don't think folks on here are giving an opinion contrary to what they belive or giving advise different than what they do or use. Call me naive, but I've been on here long enough to believe that is not the case. Mike
  18. If you're into experimenting and your waters will allow, try some 12# Yo Zuri. I did and settled on this and very pleased. Mike

I've never seen or heard of any creature in any body of water that is "methiolate" in color, or anything that crawls or swims that is "bubble gum pink". For me it comes down to this... If the fish are there and it works, it works..If it doesn't try something else... I'll never know why anyway. Mike
  20. How many do we have confirmed and paid so far? Mike

  23. Can't help you about what to use for small mouth as unfortunately we don't have them down here. Matter of fact, I'm sorry to say I have never caught one...ever. Maybe someday. Anyway, I use bait casting gear exclusively... 7' 2" Phenix M1 for spinnerbait/chatterbaits. 7' Fenwick Techna AV for bottom contact. 7' Falcon " Carolina Lizard Dragger" for Frogs and swim baits. 7' 3" Quantum Smoke for punching. 7' Phenix X 11 for cranks and top water of all sizes. 7' Loomis GLX 843C MBR for everything else. Mike
