  7. All the same for me but I use 16# sniper and braid for all top waters Mike
  8. I must be all screwed up! All my reels are a 200 size..Curado E, G I, Johnny Morris Sig, Abu Revo S, BPS Extreme and a PQ. The smallest I use is a Chronarch 100 sf. To me they are interchangeable for anything I want to throw regadless of weight. Mike

  10. Thats a wall shot! Mike
  11. I was on Tackle Tour doing rod research and someone posted a link here to get more reviews of what I was looking for. Mike
  12. I only snell when making a more vertical presentation. (Flippin and short pitches) If casting and working it back I really don't see an advantage because of the more horizontal retrieve. Mike

If you have live bait available in your area I'd start there. Her chances of catching something will go up greatly. Tell her to throw it out and watch her line. Even a swimming bait fish tied to a hook will keep her attention longer than just standing there waiting for something to happen or just constantly reeling.. Mike

  16. It's all good Dad. My all around plastics rod is also a GLX 843C MBR that I use 14# Sniper on. Its hard for me to believe any other combo in any weather or conditions would be better. In the soup bowl, tainted, shallow, vegitation filled lakes I fish in down here to me a leader would be useles, and offer no advantage. In fact puposely adding, in my opinion, a possible week point in my line would be counterproductive. Maybe not where you live and your style of fishing but down here we need all the help we can get Good Luck Mike
  17. His reviews and others for as long as I've been on here is the only reason I use it. And that's 12# for cranks, spinnerbaits and chatterbaits. Mike
  18. Don't want to take this thread far from it's intended purpose, But..Tho there are some applications that tieing a leader is advisable, it is by NO means the be all, end all, of the way anyone should fish as I assume you are implying. There are advantages to useing straight flouro, as there are to tying a leader, but those advantages are subjective to the one holding the rod. And yes, to apparently the few and far between of us who never use a leader we do know how to tie a main line on a hook, a leader knot if desired, and even how often any knot should be tied and retied.. If I read this part of your post wrong and missed your meaning then I will stand corrected. Mike
  19. Thats Great!! Congratulations to you and your wife. Remember that old saying.."A son is a son until he takes a wife...But a daughters a daughter for the rest of your life" Mike
  20. 3 reasons... 1. It protect's the knot from the weight banging into it 2. It makes somewhat of a clicking sound when it hits the weight which some folks say helps to mimic a craw 3. It's a confidence thing Mike
  21. I use 12# Yo-Zuri for all moving baits now and have no reason to change. Mike
  22. A-Jay...Don't tex pose them. Stop before you break through and then throw. Don't worry about not getting a proper hook set with the hook penetrating the plastic..I use the TK 130 exclusively for punching which I can do all day and don't have that problem.. Good Luck Mike
  23. You want separation on the fall and while your working it?. ..Tie a Petey Rig Mike
