    Hello and Welcome! Mike
  2. Everyone gets skunked, everyone!...Sorry no exception's. The key is to keep casting, and remember everything you throw where, how and when as Catt said. Mike
  3. Don't forget a punch skirt! Sometimes that'll be the only thing missing. Mike
  4. After trying the Whopper Plooper that's all I use now. Mike

You are exactly right! (As always ) I used a Bomber Long A on a hunch a little while back on Okeechobee and had my limit within 2 hrs. I used long hard pulls and just let it back up (That's why I only use those) to the surface, give it a twitch and Bam! Mike
  6. Don't mean to hijack with this question so hopefully it will help someone else too...What size hooks are you useing? and Do you weight them at all? I use Skinny Dippers with a keel weighted hook or with a glass nose cone almost exclusively down here, but want to try these before Rage's line hits. Thanks Mike
  7. Honey Candy Cut R Punch rig..1.5 oz weight, RI Sweet Beaver, 4/0 wide gap hook with a D&M punch skirt. Gave up trying to post pictures, sorry Mike

  9. I need new glasses! Mike
  10. The "new and improved" backward rib's certainly aren't new. Skinny Dippers have had them for years. The improved part, for me at least, are yet to be determined. The flange could be a game changer. Mike

  13. "Friendly Critters in the water" No I wouldn't be. Just stay on the boat and.... Watch for anything trying to crawl up the motors, Falling from overhanging bushes, Ducks hitting you or thier droppings falling on your head, Mama gator showing her displeasure if you get to close to her nest, If you snag a gar just cut the line, If you hook a mud fish just cut the line for a different reasons, Just Don't go in the water. Have Fun Mike
  14. Ditto Mike
  15. May God Bless Sam and her family. It's news like this that make me what to hug my kids and grandkids even more. I feel so sad for them. Mike
  16. Ditto Hook size is not the be all when deciding on what lb test line to use. If I had a big enough plastic to warrant a 5/0 and in scattered grass I'd use it If I had no other reel readily available to use. That being said if I was in hog territory I'd be sure my drag was set appropriately, and wouldn't be to eager to horse it in. If It gets hung up in some grass I'd just go get her. Mike
  17. Clearest water we found latley was all the way back into Pelican Bay. There were some small areas before you get there, but with some emerged hydrilla, Kissimmee grass and some wierd looking plants most of the inner bay looked good. Mike
  18. Thunder means lightning!...'Nuff said Mike
  19. Agree with geo, If you want to fish Okeechobee. If you want to try a smaller water lake, Lake Trafford holds some quality fish also. Nowhere near the level of the Big O tho. Mike
  20. I assume a "dip" would be a change in the bottoms contour. Mike

    Hello and Welcome! Mike
  22. For open water 12# Yo Zuri. In places where I'm target casting to open areas or holes in a pad or scattered grassy area, I use my frog/swim bait combo which has 50# braid. Mike
