C Rig Main Line Suggestions
Mine... 30# braid main line with 12# Yo Zuri leader. I rarely fish in or through rock and wood. Mike

Swimbait Line
I don't know, If you're talking about the paddles tail soft swimbait styles, I use 30# braid and have for years. If you're talking about those 6"+ hard baits can't help you. Mike

What's Your Problem?
"Finesse" fishing! Yeah I said it!! It's juust sooooo freaking sloooowww. I have to constantly yell at myself to let the #$@# wacky rigged worm fall and keep falling and falling.... Pinch myself to keep the #$@# shaky rigged worm on the bottom and shake, shake and shake again....Then move it a little and Shake Again!!! And this from a guy who fish's shallow water 90% of the time. I do it, successful at it sometimes, but dang I hate doin it... Mike

Doing Good For Myself.
Now That sounds like a job I'd get out of bed for! Well maybe not.. Good Luck! Mike

I've been in a 6 man league for years, and use pretty much the player format that iabass8 has proposed. We allow changes if a rostered player is placed on IR and allow an additional 5 FA changes during the year with no charge. Anything over the 5 we have to pay.. Point is we can still have a competitive league with what we have now if noone else signs up. Mike

Power Pro Braid
For all around casting I like 30# Original Power Pro. All the different types of braid, from all the different manufacturers made me crazy trying to figure out which is best, just like any other line we use. I tried it, liked it and staying with it. Mike

Do U Use Rods Protectors, If So What Brand Do U Like
I've tried the Rod Glove, Stick Jacket and the BPS brand. The Rod Glove is my favorite...Well made and I like the wrapped tip. I like the Stick Jacket the least because of the metal ring on the tip. I'm always afraid if I'm not carefull enough, the mesh will come loose on the inside and ruin a tip. Plus, I dont store my rods upside down, which would be an advantage if you do. Mike

Mono Vs Copoly Sensitivity
There is NO line or rod for that matter, that you can just throw and KNOW without a doubt that there is a fish on the other end. No matter how much we wish there was, it just doesnt work that way. Sure we keep looking and comparing everything sold wishing for that magic bullet, but it just doesn't exist. So the next best thing is to try different things that will in our minds give us an edge. And what is the best way to do that? Buy what you can afford, ask for advise on the best way to use it, and remember why its called fishin. Mike

Me too, kinda surprised. Maybe a lot of folks don't come to this sub board. I know it was months before I did after signing up. Mike

Would Anyone Fish A Tournament With A Spincast?
In a tournament? Not unless I had to. I fish in Fla lakes mostly where you're allways in some kind of grass. They just don't have the power. Now that being said. IF I was to use one it would be a Johnson Century 100 hands down. I have one of the original green ones with the pearl on the handle (I keep in the velvet bag that Crown Royal Whiskey comes in) I've have had it for over 40yrs and a 50 yr anniversary model. Find one of those...Now you got something Mike

Seaguar Invizx
I used 20# Invisex for a long time until I switched to Sniper. Won't go back. Less stretch, more manageable, thinner diameter, doesn't kink as easy. No real difference in knot strength (SDJ) Mike

Quantum Smoke
By the way mine is not one of the new ones, it's about 5 yrs old, if that makes a difference. Mike

Quantum Smoke
My punching and heavy cover rod is a 7' 2" H/Xf micro and really like it. It's light enough to use all day, has a little softer action than other XF rods, which make it perfect for pitching a long way or even for mid range flip cast's. Also, the handle is short enough so it won't keep jabbing me in the side. To me it's as sensative a rod as a lot of the more popular ones. Mike

Snelling T Rig Knots?
I snell only when punching. Mike

Flipping Set Up
Sparse cover...15# Floro or 30# braid Heavy cover/Punching matt's ...20#-25# Floro or 50#-65# braid (I know a few who use 80# and wouldn't change) Mike

Better Wide Gap Fluke Hook
The lower bend V of the skip gap holds the fluke, or any soft plastic for that matter, tighter and straighter. It really helps..You don't lose any of the hooks gap because of it either. I use a 4/0 or 5/0 for tubes, 4/0 senkos and 3/0 for flukes. No hook up problems at all As I understand it, they were designed to be used for skipping as very soft plastics have a tendency to come loose off a regular off set hook. Mike

History Channel Show Alone
I would love to do it..Even tho I'm a city boy at heart. I may end up crying like a little girl and call for my Mama after the first 10 min! Why not? I'd have to be 20 yrs younger tho. Mike

Mono Vs Copoly Sensitivity
Allways wanted to say that but didn't want to offend anyone. Mike

Curly Worm Flat Sides
The flat side to me is considered the bottom. This is where the hook point goes in to rig. The point lies on or in (to tex pose) the ribs etc. on the top of the worm. When I use a ribbon tail, 90% of the time I'm reeling to get the tail moving, which is the attraction. Up, down or sideways it's gonna move which is what it's designed to do. Mike

Better Wide Gap Fluke Hook
A Skip Gap style hook is what you need. (If I knew how to post pictures on this thing I'd do it for you) Mike
