  1. Ill bet they'll be installing some type of lock by pass system that can be accessed from the inside on those doors and only telling the flight crew how to use it real quick. Very scary Mike

You can "Rage Rig" any type, style or size plastic in your bag. When nose weighted presentations stop working, throw it on a keel weighted hook in the same place before you move on. You may be surprised. Mike
  3. We all sometimes either forget what we were taught when we started out, or improved upon and refined what we've been taught or even better yet find new ways to do old things. Dad didn't like fishing and growing up on the So side of Chicago there really wasn't many places to go and learn anyway. But now in my advanced years Iv'e learned on my own... Pumping while reeling sometimes does nothing, I don't need a $300 magnesium, 10 bearing reel or a $400 technologicaly advance fishing rod to catch anything. Mike
  4. Tip when spooling... Soak one of your significant others nylon's with whatever conditioner you decide on, and run your line through that while spooling. You'll use a lot less as it won't soak into a cotton rag, sock etc. Mike
  5. Happy Birthday Keri! Mike and Jeannie
  6. The true defination of a Man!! I'm proud to call you a Friend! Mike
  7. RI Skinny Dippers for a wild paddle, only slight body wiggle. Big EZ for a more pronounced lower body and paddle thump. (Don't use the EZ Swimmer) All are rigged with an 5/0 or 6/0 Owner twist lock 3/16 or 1/4 oz belly weighted hook. 7/0 when useing the Gambler Duz-It set up. For colors my favorite is Houdini and Bull Frog for the Skinny Dipper, June Bug and Forty-Niner for the Big EZ. Mike
  8. Frog Toggs Mike
  9. Uni to Uni when and if I use a leader. The knot is larger than an Albright or Alberto for sure but if you don't use it on a rod with micro guides or just keep it below the tip when casting, it doesn't matter. Mike
  10. 1) Only for finesse tactics...Wacky, Shaky etc. About 3 ft long, and then only on spinning gear 2) What you use for backing doesn't matter. What your top line is does. (see above) Mike
  11. You're right! More than once I thought... What?? How much?? Turned the page Mike
  12. Atta Boy!! Mike
  13. Punch rig...7'6" MH/F Custom MHX blank, Curado G w/65# braid Flippin rig...7'4" H/XF Quantum Smoke, Curado E w/20# floro Mike
  14. Hey Silly I thought the same thing I'll ask, Why isn't there a Lunker Club on this site? Mike
  15. I use braid for everything on top. Frogs and treble baits included because of the strength, no stretch, it floats and the rod I use is soft enough on the top end and heavy enough on the bottom. Floro for all bottom contact. I get the added benefit of less visibilty along with the sensitivity it gives especially in windy conditions. Floro or Yo zuri for all moving baits depending on the conditions I'm throwing into. Braid with a floro leader for all finesse presentation's which is thrown on spinning only. Don't use mono for anything any more...Don't see the need Mike

I've used mosquito style and plain circle hooks in open water and for that size bait a 2/0 works for me. Mike
  17. When I fish beds the first color is always white. I will rotate between a bb cricket and then a beaver/bug of some kind usually a sweet beaver or rage craw. Haven't tried the Rage structure bug yet, but will at the Nation's next week. I do that because I can see a definite difference in thier attitude toward white than any other color. Thats not to say that other color's won't catch a bedding fish, they will and have, but for some reason white makes em a little nuts at first. Mike
  18. You guys are making me depressed, it's gonna be 84 deg here today... So what the heck am I doing in the house! Going for a bike ride to the beach...Be back later Mike
  19. Well... I use floro for all bottom contact presentation's except punching matts. Yo Zuri for all moving baits. Right or wrong it works for me. Mike
  20. Agree... I got a black 7'6" Med/Fast Cumara spinning rod that I really didn't need. It made all my others obsolete. Mike
  21. The reason for your break off has been covered. To answer you question...Assuming you're useing a soft swim bait like a Skinny Dipper or Big EZ? If so my line of choice here in Fla is 30# PP. If not, please disregard. Mike
