  2. Ahhh... you young bucks need to read more Even tho I was a little young in his hey day, I still remeber Gene Krupa and in my opinion was the greatest of all. There was even a movie about his life. His a "drum battles" with Buddy Rich are legendary, you can buy it on CD. He was the first drummer inducted into the Modern Drummer Hall of Fame Mike
  3. I use a 20# PP with a 12# leader on my only spinning outfit when I'm in fairly open, shallow water. That's it. Mike

  8. Most folks use mono for cranks, and treble hooked top water lures for that matter. The stretch of the line being the biggest advantage. But, IMHO since the advent of all the different line types now a days, and glass/composite/slower action rods on the market, there seems to be somewhat of a shift away from useing straight mono exclusively. Mike
  9. All I use anymore are Skinny Dippers and Big EZ Mike
  10. Ditto I tried to use the small ones a while back but went right back to the larger size. They have thier place tho. Mike
  11. That was probably done on purpose..very sneaky Mike
  12. Lund What you do now is you carry on your Ma's legacy as best you can. You make decisions with your heart, do what you think she would want and do. I went through the same not long ago. You want to make the right decisions, but you don't know what those are. Some may think I'm crazy or foolish but I believe that when a parent passes they still watch over us. Listen to her, she'll guide you. Sometimes she'll be hard to hear but in your quiet moments you'll understand. May she Rest In Peace Prayers for her and your familY. Mike
  13. If I'm swapping out hooks for any top water, I use the same size they come with. To answer your question I want a spook sitting flat on the water. IMHO do to the very nature of a spook the best action comes with water displacement and you won't get that with part of it under water. It's designed to be worked on top. I think you're lessing your chances of enticing a strike and getting a solid hook up working it any other way. But that's just me. Mike
  14. Yeah, Rusty I know. Like I said, IMHO The other 2 are made better. Mike
  15. Underwelmed? No, not at all...not even close. Mike
  16. Anticipation Frustration Aggrivation Addiction Exhilaration Mike

  25. The problem..in my opinion, is rigging that way the fish must inhale the whole thing to be hooked. The fact that the weight is up against the hook point, hook ups are much, much harder. At least they were for me when I first tryed it years ago. The advantge to a reversed T rig is that you can stand the flappers of say a craw, straight up. But again the whole thing has to be inhaled. Also, keep in mind no matter how you rig a weight peggged plastic, the weight will still fall first no matter where you place the hook. Mike
