Fist fights...
Men of a certain age who lived in the intercity of many major northern cities remember the summers of ‘66-‘68. “Racial Strife” was rampant and neighborhoods were just beginning to change. Most people who lived in thier homes since immigrating from Europe over the previous 3 generations were in no mood for change. Where I grew up in the Englewood section of the So Side of Chicago I literally had to fight my way to school or to the grocery store for my Ma. Once or twice a week the fellas in my neighborhoods “local collective of friends” would have to band together just to take a walk. I still have the scars Mike

If you see a health concern on a total stranger. You saying something?
A mole as you described can be anything. However, if I see an open wound or someone unsteady, or something as obvious as someone coughs or sneezes without covering their mouth and splatters blood, I’ll definitely mention it. Then go to the doctor myself! Mike

Living with regret......
@Captain Phil made me think about something that I try to forget but someone would say something, I’d see something on tv etc. and it would all come back. When I graduated from HS in ‘68 the Viet Nam war was at its height. You couldn’t turn on the tv without seeing it played out every day. They would broadcast a scorecard of how many men were killed and wounded every night, local newspapers would list the names of those killed every day! They had reporters in with our troops broadcasting from the front lines. They would interview these kids from a fox hole, a doctor inside an aid station or with them walking through the jungle on a “seek and destroy” patrol. I was classified 4F which meant I wasn’t able to be drafted as I broke a vertebra in my neck in ‘67 and the surgeon wouldn’t clear me. When I was cleared the draft lottery was instituted and my number was never called either so I couldn’t go. 4 childhood friends of mine were killed. 3 in ‘68, 1 in ‘69 and 1 is still listed as MIA. Anyway, all that to say this.. Every Memorial Day I go to a local Viet Nam Memorial Wall replica and find each one, say a prayer and remember. But I could never shake that feeling of deep regret that they went and I couldn’t. I lived a full life that they couldn’t. Now They’re just a name on black granite. Yes, as crazy as it sounds it is a regret Mike

Improved Clinch , Trilene or Uni Knot ?
The most critical part of tying the Palomar exactly right is #1 when doubling though the eye. Sitting here I can’t guarantee you I do it right every time either. As far as #2, it’s just giving yourself enough line to work with which you would have to do with any knot #3 I’m a little confused about as all you have is the overhand which you hold between your fingers. Anyway, All that said the best knot is the one YOU have confidence in. Mike

Living with regret......
I think we all do at some point in our lives if we want to admit or not. But it’s also a matter of degree. If everyone’s decisions are right all the time in every aspect of our lives, the word wouldn’t exist. Mike

Anchoring
Just slip it over the side and move the boat until it catches. Never thought using an anchor would disturb them as much as most everything else if done with care. Mike

Culling clips
Since it came with the beam and being the buoys are interchangeable it might be a Gen 2 but I’m really not sure. Sorry Mike

Road To The Super Bowl 2023
Most everyone has already anointed Buffalo king in the AFC right behind KC and it seems to me it started well before what happened to Hamlin. KC gets a lot of play and respect, most of it is warranted but certainly not all. Cinn is more than capable of winning it all until they get SF in the SB if they make it that far, which would not surprise me. Just don’t think they have enough. Mike

Had a gator scare
Darn Right! I rarely bank fish anymore, but when I had to make my way through overgrown brush I grab a long stick and bang my way through especially when approaching the bank shore. Mike

Culling clips
Anytime, They just make it a lot easier overall to cull the ones to release without taking the time to question which. Mike

shimano curado green reel
I’ve said it before, but in my opinion even tho the green “E” series Curado’s don’t have all the new technology with computer chips, lighter materials, tighter tolerances, redesigned this and improved that, it’s still the best overall reel made. Yeah, the green E’s have old “technology” which is just fine. They just do what they’re supposed to do, every time! Mike

Culling clips
Nope, not at all. Personally I’d prefer them to be just a little easier to open. Once they’re on they don’t slip or come off. Mike Another benefit is that by grabbing the buoys which of course float, you don’t have to search around in the live well. On some styles you can record the weight of the fish it’s attached to, or just use the color to determine quickly which you want to cull Mike

Culling clips
Check out the T-H Marine G Force set. It comes with 6 color coded buoys and a balance beam. I’ve been using them for about year and have no complaints Mike

Road To The Super Bowl 2023
Totally agree Poles has to trade down, too many holes to fill. Give up #1 and a later round, Drop down a few spots in the first, get a 2nd, 4th and 1st and 3rd next year. Plus depending on who, get a #1 WR and and starting DL as a bonus to sweeten. I wouldn’t have a problem overpaying for a few young front line players in free agency either. No team had ever had this much cap room and the first pick. Thier first time GM better know what he’s doin!! Any time “that team from Wisconsin” loses is a good day regardless of anything else! This year I’m glad it was Detroit. Given they lucked out with LA tanking and now getting a top 10 pick, I don’t think anyone will look past them next year Mike

Road To The Super Bowl 2023
Well… For a nutty Bears fan, other than watching Fields grow, this year was like a knife in the heart But….If we couldn’t do anything this year it really couldn’t have been set up better for the next and beyond. The first overall pick for the 1st time in 76 yrs and over 120 mil in cap space! Almost twice as much as the next team. Plus, on top of all that the “team from Wisconsin lost”!!! And alls right with the world SF 27 Buff 17 Mike
