Looking back at the 2022 season, what is one thing you want to brag about?
Earlier I posted about what I brag about the most to anyone who would listen! ? (My first Great Grandchild being born) But after reading everyone’s posts I realized that it was more personal and not specifically related to the spirit of the thread Fishing related..what I’m most proud of in 2022 was qualifying for my 11th consecutive B.A.S.S Nations Florida State Championship. Had a gator scare
I hear ya!! Ive had that happen more than a few times especially on The Lake meandering our way back into a few newly flooded areas after a summer thunderstorm both times in the back of the Monkey Box. We had no business going that far back but both boaters felt we’d be in new pristine waters. When they stared to grunt and I saw a few obvious resting areas when during mating season is where they lay eggs I should have said something but didn’t. I told the boater to crank the big motor and to not sit in the seat to drive out. Just put it in gear and drive standing from between the seats. Right after I explained why, a 8-10 footer raised his head and nosed the bottom of the gunnel next to his seat! He screamed, I yelled and hit 70 comin out ? Mike

Of Course you did!! ? Mike

Damar Hamlin
I doubt they will continue the game and shouldn’t until his condition is known. If he is out of danger with a positive Prognosis ok resume play. But after the 2 coaches talked on the field and they suspended the game, without knowing that I doubt they will.

Road To The Super Bowl 2023
Agree, all the rest will be one and done unless something happens to a few key players of the teams above in the next 2 weeks Mike

Baits that work for you that others have not heard of?
To me the best and probably the least known plastic that Culprit makes is their Fat Max ribbon tail. It has the bulk and tail action that very few others can match. (I may be a little biased as that is what I got my PB on) Mike

Modifying Popper Lips ?
The easiest and most accurate way to get the lip down and even on the sides is to just use a dremel tool. Once when Marshaling at an Elite event my pro used a pencil popper with uneven sides. He did that to make it walk much easier with a lot less effort. Mike

A heavy jig rod
It really depends as some rods can be over or under powered depending on the actual punching conditions you encounter. My 2 setups that I posted above covers all conditions in the vast majority of the waters I fish, hense the different lines used on the 2 rods which are different in action but not in power. I use the same MH/F Tatula that @Catt posted above exclusively for the same level of cover in the same weight range. For that I use 20# Shooter I do not use a 7’ 6” length rod for anything as it’s perceived extra distance and leverage is not that big of an advantage for me. Mike
