  1. Howdy! Mike
  2. If you think it helps, then it does Mike
  3. I remember… It does help to step back once in awhile. I hardly ever go fishing anymore just to go and putz around trying new things and experimenting. I get so locked up in doing certain things certain ways every time, that I would loose focus on why I’m doin it in the first place. I’ve been very fortunate to have reached many of my fishing goals, so when I feel the fun part starting to wain I put it down and walk away for bit. Then when the itch returns I’m off again. Sometimes not doing anything can help clear the mind and be the best thing you can do to make you better. Mike

I hope everything is just fine Mike
  6. I read somewhere that whales and porpoises are negatively effected by sonar. I get it that they are mammals and the sonar on a submarine in the open ocean is far different than what’s on a boat in a lake. But in my narrow minded thinking mode, I would think there has to be some type of effect… Mike

My Sister-in-law does. She can’t fly, travel long distances in a car, or even be in car that has to stop or take a corner faster than normal without it overtaking her. It’s terrible how it almost has taken over her life. Mike
  9. So sorry to hear this My condolences to you and your family Mike
  10. I thought so but wasn’t sure as I don’t use light line on spinning rods for anything and it seems that’s what most on here do. You’re exactly right, when I’m pitching into a hard weed, pad or reed line most times it makes all the difference. Mike
  11. Ditto!! Mike
  12. I gotta keep moving and cover water changing baits as I go. If I get bit, I’ll either slow way down or stop and work that area throughly before starting up again. Mike
  13. Me neither. I always feel there are better options. OP, that being said there are guys on here who swear by it and for good reason. Personally the greatest success I have with a Senko is with a nail weight in the tail Mike

I look for stuff like that! Other than what’s already been said, I’d throw a Speed Worm or Cut R right through it Mike
  15. So Sorry to hear about your Dad. I did the same as you when my Dad and Ma passed, started doing the math. It did me no good and it won’t for you. Live and enjoy each day, the math means nothing Mike
  16. Ditto The ability to Improvise, Overcome and Adapt consistently on the water cannot be understated. Mike
  17. Great day in every way!! Congratulations! Mike
  18. Excellent subject! Color wise.. June bug will out fish anything else down here. Stay home after a winter cold front for a day but always go 1-2 days before. Learn the finer points of punching and sight/bed fishing. It’s not as simple as it sounds Mike
  19. Pop R Ribbon Tail Jelly Worm Mike
  20. I have one K (8:1) and don’t have that problem. When I lock it, it stays locked but with just a very slight slip which is fine as I always use my thumb anyway. 20# Shooter Mike
  21. Personally, I don’t think the popularity of fishing went down during the pandemic, if anything it became more so. Also, If I can be influenced to being involved in any sport or pastime by playing a video game, it wouldn’t be worth doing. But that’s me Edit… However, if a game CAN help to generate interest in someone to fish then it can be a good thing. Mike
  22. Those are wall shots for sure!! Nothing like fishing with family (especially with the little guy) Mike
  23. I tried most one time or another and always come back to the Super Spook Mike
