That’s what makes this site what it is. We all come at it through our own waters, our experience and confidence in certain things. From the guy on the bank who fishes creeks and ponds, to the guys who fish the Great Lakes. Would I use a frog in So Florida in 15 fow on a barren sand flat in open water in 40deg weather after a January cold front passes? Certainly not, there are better choices. My probably not well written response was to point out that to some folks, where you throw can be more important than what you throw or even when. Opinions like all of us vary. Mike

Ditto I think there are more than enough threads on here that dissect every bait made that can keep someone busy till rapture! OP More times than not it really doesn’t matter much. I’ve been fishing for bass a very long time and by my standard have achieved some success. But not once have I said to myself I can’t use a certain bait because it’s too hot outside to use. However, I will chose one bait over another based solely on where I use it. Mike

Haters gonna hate, There’s no changing it. Yes, people die in the City of Chicago every day. They did when I was growing up in Englewood (69th Street) in the 50’s and 60’s and they always will. Is it a good place to live and raise a family? Overall, all things considered…Absolutely! But it can also be the same answer you can give for any big city…depends where you go. To compare and make an overall judgement of one city in this country to another by only looking at how many people die there, in my opinion is wrong. There are more decent, hard working, loving families that have lived there for generations than not. But as always, opinions vary. Go Bears!! Mike
  5. The closest thing to a “traditional” wake bait I use is a floating Sebile Magic Swimmer. I just started using them again and wondered why I stopped. Mike

  7. OH MAN! I feel bad for you! ? A friend of mine just bought one he found in West Virginia. He paid almost as much as I paid for my first house. Mike

  9. That’s an excellent price for that work. At least for down here it is. Mike
  10. Good for you!! Looks like a great driver! I love seeing old muscle cars brought back to life and restored as I grew up with them. They’re getting rarer as time goes on. Except for paint, tires and wheels I have an all original ‘65 GTO that I’ve owned for 31 yrs. I restored it as a show/driver but still don’t drive it as much as I’d like. Stay with it and don’t get discouraged while you get it the way you want. All it takes is time and money! ?? Mike
  11. I got a Chronarch 100SF from around that time also. Great reel!! Mike

  13. I don’t own a top water specific rod. Some of what I own can do it just fine, others not so much. Mike
  14. The best thing about a forum of like minded people is that a friend can be made just by exchanging ideas and experiences and more importantly earning and showing respect. Granted very few know anything about one’s personal life, but I feel like there are some on here who I’d consider a friend even tho we’ve never met. Mike
  15. Yep I’ve had mine about the same length of time and use it every outing. Those things are built like a tank! Mike

  19. At the first BR Road-trip in 2014 at Wilson Lake I had the pleasure to meet and fish with a few guys including @Glenn @roadwarrior @papajoe222 @BIG O and others. Some are still here and others who are not. Mike
  20. Junebug Watermelon red Green pumpkin with black flakes. (Most times it’s not a Senko) Mike
  21. First I hardly ever throw a crank bait. At certain times I’ll throw a jerk, trap and a lot of times I’ll throw a Spook type walking bait. Point is I don’t use a snap. I tie direct to the split ring and never really had a real problem. When it comes to the point where what I’m using is not working, I won’t just change colors or the size. I’ll just pick something else up entirely because to get to that point I used it long enough to prove to myself I made the wrong decision in the first place. Mike
  22. Never when punching through thick mats. The stands can get caught going through and throw it off, but the biggest reason is that sometimes the mat is thicker than the water underneath it which wouldn’t give it enough time to get the effect I want. I’ll say most times when pitching in and through more moderate to heavy vegetation I’ll try one if not getting bit without one first. Mike
