  1. I seen a couple weeks ago on Ike's facebook they were releasing a new line of signature Revos. They have given no other information. Then I seen they debuted them at the Classic with an August release date. However they still have not released info. I was hoping that the ones of you that were are the expo may have gotten some info on them. They look like a purple Revo Premier and Ike confirmed that they are based of the Premier platform but will be priced down to match the price of his rods.
  2. I have used Lews before and currently have quite a bit of the gen 4 Revos mixed with Tatula CTs. I think the brakes and performance of the Revos are better than Lews. But Lews wins when it comes to smoothness. For $120 I would check eBay for a Gen 4 Revo SX. I bought mine from $80-$115. Dual brakes and very smooth.
  3. I'm watching it at work today. I'm partial to the FLW guys because I follow that series more. I'm partial to Wheeler and Ehrler. However I do like Ike and Palanuik.
  4. How do I go about getting a tournament code so I can watch live updates on my pone for the classic?
  5. As much as it happens in fishing, the paintball industry is worse with the buyouts. One common thing in paintball and could be the case with Sebile is that when a business sells out they wont sell the intellectual properties and certain patents they have. They sell the name and current product lineup (however modifications must be changed to current products if there is a patent on a certain part or feature). Selling companies then usually start another company under a different name i.e. Smart Parts to GOG, or sell the patents and rights at auction to bring in even more money. Without knowing the terms of the deal with Sebile its hard to explain the reason for change, it could be as a as cutting cost or Sebile wouldn't put certain properties and patents in the deal forcing a change in products.
  6. Power Pro, Ardent Gliss, Spiderwire, Spectra, Kast King. Personally I use Kast King or Gliss. If you have trouble finding it I normally have to go to the Saltwater section to get pink.
  7. I'm with Francho on this one. I don't see a reason to pay more than, in my case, $175 for a reel. At that price you have Curados, Tatula SV, Revo SX, etc. Now for spinning reels going past $100 is hard or me and rods my ceiling is $300. And with the deals on Ebay its been hard to got over $100 when Tatulas are $85 and SVs pop up for $100
  8. Here is one of the videos I watched.
  9. As a financial advisor and scout for a bank my job is to keep track of small banks and when they hit a certain "score" write up a proposal to purchase said small bank. We acquire about two small banks a year. And when we do acquire the banks we put everyone in our accounts paying our fees. We don't buy other banks because they offer good products but to eliminate competition, the same reason fishing companies get bought out.
  10. I use plain old clear line for all my lines except braid. For braid I use Hi-Vis Pink. I use pink because I saw a video on line color and showed that in clear water pink becomes invisible faster than any other colored line. Then I read an article a few months later from Jordan Lee who said he uses straight pink braid for the same reason. I have had no issues with pink braid or clear fluoro in strained or clear water.
  11. Iaconelli still back reels to. I read an article that Abu wasn't going to leave that feature off their Revo spinning reels but Ike threw a huge fit and they added it back into the design.
  12. I've never given it much thought. Most of my jigs are the Omega Rapture jigs and have never had an issue with weeds getting tangled in it.
  13. When is the best time to use these? I have quite a few 168s in various colors and never caught a fish with them. I have never caught a fish with any hard body swimbait.
  14. I don't use flukes as much as I should but when I do it is very successful. I fish my weightless on spinning gear but I like to fish it near the top of the water column like a shad busting out.
  15. I ship my rods in 7'6" length and 3" circumference tubes all the time through usps and pay between $25-$35 depending on where in the country it is going. Usually when they quote me a higher price it is because they add a balloon charge however having worked for USPS I know that the only time you have to pay for a balloon charge is when the total dimensions are 108" or greater and my tubes total is 93"
  16. A friend of mine is on prostaff and I get most of my rods through him. He said that there is almost no info on the ZBones but will probably see them at the Classic. As for grips there was speculation that they would come with Red Winn Grips but also the new Helium 3 rods would come with Blue Winn Grips. I cannot confirm this as all is speculation. Mark Rose uses ZBones with the red winn grips on the FLW tour.
  17. Everyone one of my reels I currently own came from Ebay. Revo X for $50, Gen4 Revo SX for $80 Tatula CT $75-$90 and my latest purchase was a couple Tatula SV for $129. As with everyone as long as they have a large volume and from the USA I buy. A lot of businesses use ebay to get around MAP restrictions. The 5 Revos I purchased last month were oddly shipped and sold by Bass Pro.
  18. I bought a Tatula SV TW for $120 on the bay. Should be here Tuesday. Is there anything different I have to do when setting the brakes with the SV.
  19. Pro Series was their entry level rod priced at I believe $120. It was later changed to the Classic series before being discontinued all together. I currently have at least one rod in all their current lines (Graphite, Magnesium 2, KLX, KLX Feel N Reel, Helium 3 and Z-Bone). To say the least I am a Kistler believer. For $150 that will make a great setup. Rod is light and very sensitive.
  20. I am looking at buying a Tatula CT SV TWS. I can only cast and 40 yards and change line ever month so I think 200' is fine for me.
  21. What is the best applications for the sv spool. I want to try one but I'm not a finesse guy more of a power guy. I would mostly use it for small spinnerbaits, swim jigs or chatterbait. Or is the spool more for plastics?
  22. I use a 7' Med Fast Kistler KLX Drop shot Finesse rod and a 7' ML XF Kistler Helium 3. Both rods are so light that they balance the CI4+ with ease.
  23. x2 for me. I rarely use braid. I only have 3 of my 10 setups with braid.
  24. Thank You, I have found a place in Indiana that has quite a few for sale but the marina has a lot of mixed reviews from customers that have bought from them before so I'm a little hesitant.
  25. No I fish the river systems that come off Erie. And smaller inland lakes such as Indian, Grand, Alum, Mosquito Creek.
