Right Handed Reels for Right Handers?
I'm left handed and cast left and reel right. It feels more natural to me. However when I taught my wife to fish she naturally picked up the rod with her right casted it and switched hands not even realizing she did. Now that she uses Baitcaster more comfortable I notice that she casts wit her right and switches hands and thumb control during the cast before the bait hits the water.

Heavy action rod for under 100$
I like both the Irod Fiber and Academy Ethos

286lb Wels Catfish!!
I had no idea. That would be a shame not to be able to mount that I personally would want the fish and not a replica with that size.

286lb Wels Catfish!!
I think I would mount that thing. No way I'm releasing it.

My first official crankbait catch! - Not what I expected!
I was literally going to say the same thing. I catch tons of cats of a bladed jig. Last season I was fishing gin clear water and watched one come flying at me like a rockets to grab my vibrating jig about a foot from the surface. My wife uses the Chart Sexy Shad from SK 1.5 silent and smokes cats with it. We will be out together and she will catch close to 10 every trip with that crank. I catch them with the silent 1.5 Sexy Shad but not near as many as she does.

Favorite Craw Type Trailer For Chatterbait ?
I use the BioSpawn Vile Craw for that exact presentation. I also use the Vile Craw for everything I need a craw bait for. Cannot beat the action that bait has.

Braid color fade
Vicious No Fade Braid. I have used it since I came out. I am on season 2.5 with the same spool and still looks brand new. Talked to a vicious rep and was told 4 seasons is the max they recommend on the same line. I guess the $70 for a 300 yard spool for 4 seasons would break down to roughly $18 a season if you need to justify paying that much for line.

Daiwa Feugo vs Tatula Differences? T wing only?
I am sure someone with more knowledge will chime in. I never used the Fuego but I do have multiple Tatulas and was told the only difference is the TWS. I would recommend picking up the Tatula Ct on eBay for $80-$90 and start from there. I think the TWS is worth the added extra.

Basic techniques
Gain confidence in texas rigged plastics. Like stated above it will make the learning curve of other techniques smaller. I would also suggest tying on a 1.5 squarebill crankbait. There is not wrong way to fish it. Vary your retrieve (speed, continuous vs start stop, speed up/slow down retrieve, etc) I would also say jerkbaits. Once you find your cadence it will help you learn to walk topwater baits. And for a fourth I would suggest a spinnerbait. A spinnerbait will virtually be worked like a crankbait but can cover the entire water column. All four of these techniques are great at catching fish but will also help you in learning various other techniques.

Catch and release
A local campground I grew up on has two ponds that held 3-4lbers (big for ponds in Ohio). about 5 years ago they added C&R rules to the ponds. Now when I go out there I only catch 1lbers if I'm lucky. I talked to the owners last year and they said it was because every year they had a company come in to stock bluegill and shad but they wanted to cut costs and not stock them yearly so they decided to no allow fish to be kept. I don't fully understand their thought process but whatever helps them turn the biggest profit. My personal view is I don't like the taste of bass so I don't keep them. My wife likes bluegill so I will bring some home. But when it comes to Walleye, Perch, Trout or Crappie, I take everyone I catch within limits.

How far south to fish! Help a northerner
I'm fishing open water with success in Ohio. Indian, Grand, Mosquito, Alum all fishing great. I wouldn't recommend Erie because (at least the western basin) is very rough right now.

Keitech Swing Impact FAT alternative?
Rage Swimmer especially if you get them at Wal-Mart they are $3.75 and my local store or the new kid on the block the Biospawn Exoswim. I have a couple packs of them and have the best action I have seen. I will be restocking with all Exoswim. They have the same action the Vile Craw has and slow rolling them givers off more action than even the Swing Impact.

Sick stick rods and reels?
Not only are they big with the Youtube community but they are also sponsoring Roland Martin, Mark Daniels Jr and Cole Harris. They seem to be gaining traction with their rods, not so much their reels. I was going to buy a couple rods but like stated earlier I wasn't paying the high shipping charge.

Drop Shot Spinning Reel
I use the Ballistic LT reel for DS. It is great but I think I would go with the Tatula LT if I did it again. I handled one and like it a bit better and its cheaper.

The 411 on the IKE Revos?
The Reese reel he is talking about is the Signature reel Abu had back in 2010 before Skeet left for Wright and McGill. I believe Ike was Skeet's replacement when he left.

I'm goin' **EDIT** I Went
Great timing for you! I used to be part of a county fair board and we would book the entertainment a year or two in advance when they were still unknown to get cheaper fees. Seems like that's what happened here.

Pink braid for wife?
I have Gliss on all my spinning reels at the moment. It is used like a braid line. It is just thinner than braid. My only gripe with it is that it is very smooth and knots can be a pain to tie. I do not use a leader if I am in stain or muddy water but I do in clear.

Pink braid for wife?
I use Pink Kastking Braid and Pink Gliss line. I like gliss on my spinning reels and Kastking on my casting reels. I've also used Dorisea JDM braided line in pink and it was just like KastKing. https://www.amazon.com/Dorisea-Extreme-Braided-109Yards-2187Yards-546Yards/dp/B076HMK5CK/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1521485786&sr=8-8&keywords=pink+braided+fishing+line

Is water temp fluctuation bad?
One thing my area is known for is the big Walleye spawn. I don't necessarily partake in it but I know that its the first sign of spring. However I was looking on the Coast Guard website at water temps and seen that over the last three weeks the temp was as high as 51 and low as 40 with a 2-3 degree fluctuation almost daily. The only reason I checked was the walleye guys over the weekend said this constant fluctuation is going to kill the spawn and screw the walleye fishing on Erie up this year. I looked at the temp charts of the last three years and notice that the fluctuations this year have been totally sporadic. Will the sporadic changes have an adverse effect on the bass fishing this year as many of the walleye guys think will happen to them?

What line should I use for jigs and worms
20# straight Fluoro. I used to be a braid to Fluoro guy until I had a few pros tell me that braid as a main line for everything is overkill. I started using straight Fluoro and straight Mono and haven't looked back.
