Hey guys I plan on doing some jig fishing in clear water this year and I will be fishing worms with the same setup I was wondering if I should use fleurocarbon or braid?

Depends where your what you fish around , if it's around a lot of rocks and trees or stumps you want heavier line like 15 pound+ flouro I usually throw or something like 30# braid.  Braid is way more sensitive and can detect strikes better but it floats and frays easier.  Flouro will sink but is stronger against fraying or nicking.. so it's more personal preference. I use flouro for my jigs or soft plastics and it's keys "intrusive " I guess. It's almost invisible underwater as they say. 

I use 30 pound braid but just started using 10 lb flouro was a leader.  Too early to tell if it makes a difference but it can't hurt either.

My go-to for a while now has been 20-50 lb braid (right now 50 is on it, so that's what I use, I don't believe in wasting line for no good reason) with a 6-15 lb fluoro leader tied on. Offers the best of both worlds: the sensitivity of the braid with the toughness and subtle stretch of the fluorocarbon.

Right now I am using 15 lb fluoro. 

My jig rods have 10 lb braid to FC leader.

NEVER had a problem digging in.

12# test mono has worked well for me with jigs and worms, and pretty much everything else. I'm fishing mostly in clear water with minimal vegetation and cover and at my novice level I like a more "universal" line that is generally good at everything as opposed to multiple lines that excel with specific techniques.

 

If you're throwing into cover you may want something stronger. If you're jigging deep, maybe braid. Never tried it here but from what I understand you'll have less stretch, more sensitivity to bites and feeling the bottom.

I like 10lb for worms and 15-20 for jigs depending on their size and hook.  Finesse jig's might go well on 10 fishing deep during the winter but a big summer jig with a large trailer thrown into the thick junk would be 17 or 20.  Looking at you equipment list you have two setups that I would run one lite line and the other heavy.  That 7.3 reel would be my pick for the heavy setup.

Spinning or bait casting reels?

20# straight Fluoro. I used to be a braid to Fluoro guy until I had a few pros tell me that braid as a main line for everything is overkill. I started using straight Fluoro and straight Mono and haven't looked back.

12 lb floro 

15 or 17lb fluoro or 30 or 40lb braid to fluoro.

17 lb. straight fluorocarbon is my vote for jigs and worms.

I use 14 to 17lb. Trilene XT green on my jig and worm rods.

15# Berkley Big Game Mean Green ?

50 lb. braid with mono or flouro leader.  I don't believe in over kill.

10 to 12 pound for worms 15 for jigs usually copoly floro coated.
