I was looking at the stats on TW.

Good Shakeyhead Rod/reel
8lb flouro line strung on a Lews Tournament HS spinning reel paired with a Denali Jadewood shakeyhead specific rod is what I use. Shakey head is pretty much the only way I use plastics. I just ordered the new Denali J2 shakey rod but I am not sure when I'll get it. You will never go wrong with Denali shakey head rod.

Thank you that makes sense. And the reels I see that are superior I understand should have a higher price tag. But like you said some of these JDM reels are less superior than its USDM counterpart. Why are these less superior reels more expensive than USDM reels? Is it only because they are Japanese Exclusives (where)?

Jdm Or North American Products
I look at statistics of the Abu Garcia JDM reels (I have never looked at Shimano because I don't like Shimano) and these reels seem worse than the USDM reels but are hundreds of dollars more. 3 to 6 bearings in the reel compared to 9 to 11. I don't see what I would be paying for.

What's The Best Reel You Have Ever Used?
Man there are way too many Shimano users on the forum. Where are the Abu and Diawa guys at.

That's That's kinda my point, what does the JDM reels have now that they are not as rare to jusify the price increase over USDM reels?

Best Sight Fishing Lures?
The pond I mostly fish is sight fishing as well. I have found even if the fish has spotted me they cannot resist a roboworm rigged shakey head. I have been in situations were a senko has not got bitten and the shakey roboworm will. Aaron's Magic for the win!!!!

Favorite Type Of Lure
Squarebill Cranks but a shakey head with a kicker worm on it is a very very close second.

What's The Best Reel You Have Ever Used?
I haven't used too many high end reels $165 is the limit my wife set me at. So the best reel I have ever used was the Tatula Type-R. I have used Revo S and SX, Shimano Curado and Citicas. I also have a Quantum Smoke 150 and Exo 100 that I got used on here that I like a lot but nothing compares to the type-R I have. The close second would be The Gen 2 Revo STX.

This is exactly what I was asking. I was looking at Abu reels and the Revo premier and Revo Elite JDM are the same reels but the Elite is $100 more expensive.

What Are You Using Your Villain 7'6" Mh Casting Rod For?
I do agree that Abu rods are under rated but I have a 7' MF Villain and it feels right on maybe even a little over rated. When I tie on a KVD 1.5 to it, it bends the tip down more than any rod I have (besides my crankbait Kovert rod). I also feel this rod is weak and the tip and alter my hook sets and casting to compensate for it. I prefer the less expensive Veritas line than the Villain line. Anyways I got off the topic. I use my Villain for small crankbaits but it is a M not a MH.

Jdm Or North American Products
What are the difference with the Japanese products that are coming over here to the states and the regular products that are already available here? It seems that these JDM products are becoming more popular but I don't see any reason why since they are products made by the same companies that have products here. The JDM lines are also a bit more pricey and, again, I don't see the connection why. Can someone please clarify this for me?

Pairing Help
Thank you. I think I have came to the realization that the lighter line is throwing me off. I usually fish with line no weaker than 12 lb and I only use flouro and braid. But with this particular lake stocked with small fish I figured smaller line would create more sensitivity. But it feels like something wants to break be it my line, rod or something in the fish when I set the hook. Maybe Im just setting too hard.

Which $100 Rod?
Yes they are just as fast. To me the only difference in the two rods are the Kovert is lighter, thinner and has a touch more sensitivity. But I like the handle on the *** better and paired with the Tatula the *** feels better in my hand

Is Pro Qualifier My Only Choice?
Thank you I knew they offered the 100p 6.3 and 7.1 in lefty so I assumed the 5:1 was also available in lefty.

Fishing Rod-All Purpose?
Get the ever so faithful Abu Veritas 7' M. It will also act like a MH due to it stiffness. I would also recommend the *** Black.

Pairing Help
I have a tournament coming up in two weeks. I have a 6 rod limit and have decided on the six combos however, I have been out preparing for the tourney and these setups feel either overpowered or underpowered any help with this would help. I just want to mix and match the 6 reels to rods not eliminate and add from my other inventory. 6' 9" M Kovert Crankbait Rod/ 6.3: Tatula/10lb Yo-Zuri squarebill and shallow running cranks 7' M Villain / 5.3:1 Citica/ 10lb Yo-Zuri medium crank and secondary squarbill 7' MH Veritas / 6.3:1 Exo/ 12lb Mono Spinnerbait, Buzzbaits, Jerkbaits 7' H H2O Ethos / 7.3:1 Smoke/ 30lb Power Pro Frogs and Jigs 7' M Veritas / Lews Tournament HS Spinning/ 8lb Yo-Zuri shakeyhead 7' M Clarus / Daiwa Legalis/ 8lb mono t-rig and wackey rig Those are my current setups I use lighter lines since the bass are small. Last year the tournament was won on a 10lb with a limit. Please no recommendations on line unless that is what ultimately is what is making me feel off. Thank you in advance for the help.

The Diawa Tatula and Quantum Smoke fits the bill I believe

Which $100 Rod?
I preordered the *** Blacks as soon as I seen them at ICast. I haven't looked back either. For the most part all I fish are $100 rods. My arsenal is Omens, Veritas, Jadewood, and Koverts. I had a few Carbonlites and a Ghost. I just hated the feel of the Ghost but I don't like the feel of any Duckett rod. The Carbonlite rods are great rods If you have the patience to stand in the store and examine every single rod to find the best rod. I am slowly converting all my rods over to Omens and Denali Koverts. Personally I believe the Denali Kovert is the best rod on the Market but the *** Black is a very close second.

Weekend Fishnig Trip
This past Saturday I went camping with my family this past weekend. While I was there I decided to put a line in the water and see what was biting in the campgrounds small pond. I was out for maybe an hour and I had great success. I caught four small ones (a pound or less) and 1 monster. I couldn't get the exact weight due to the fact that my scale's batteries were dieing. But a consistent weight was 3lbs 4oz. The big girl was caught on a shakey head flipped under the docks. and the smaller ones I used a KVD Spinnerbait in Sexy Shad. Here is some picks of the big girl I caught. GO PENGUINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rookie Baitcaster Setup?
Going on a different path I like the suggestion of the BPS Extreme rod 7' H but as for reels I try to encourage the BPS Bionic it has what they call "Smart Cast" brakes. My wife could not use a casting reel for the life of her. I got her the Bionic and in half a season she started using higher end reels such as the Citica and Revo SX and never backlashes them. The Bionic is a great teaching reel really lowers the learning curve.
