Which rods to invest in?
That was a main issue for me to but I not the bullet when I'm black Friday that ran a deal buy a rod and get them Phenom free before they released. I'm glad I did I'm slowly moving my Denali and 13 rods over to Enigma.

BPS Titanium 8 Combo
I loved the black carbonlite. This new white feels cheap and flimsy. The employee also steered me away from cl reels. I ended up buying Duckett Ghost rods and held off on new reels

BPS Titanium 8 Combo
During the spring classic I went to but a couple carbonlite rods. A worker came up and told me BPS changed house brand manufacturer and their rods are lower quality but reels are higher quality. He said the Carbonlite rods are breaking tips more frequent than the older Veritas rods. I can't speak specifically towards other rods but he told me all the rods are lower quality. It was the first time I was steered away from the house brand.

Which rods to invest in?
It is very hard to say one specific rod brand because each manufacture excels in different rod setups. However if I was forced to have to fish one brand only my brand would be Enigma. It is a new company that doesn't get a lot of love because people think they are ugly. But I like the look of the Phenom Titanium and Aaron's edge. They cover every type of rod you would need. Limited lifetime warranty. Light, sensitive, and I love the microwave guides. These rods are $120 for the Aaron's Edge and $150 for the Phenom Titanium. Plus a non titanium version of the Phenom is getting released this year.

Just looking for what company makes Academy reels. I'm looking to pick a few of them up because of the great reviews and I love their blue rods.

Best Bang for Buck Spinning Rod $75 or less
The Denali J2 is the way to go on sale or even full price. Best $100 rod on the market. I'm a fan of the Lithium and Kovert series as well.
-
New Shimano Caenan - anyone messed with one yet?
$120 Casitas is graphite as well. Paying for the name.
-
Denali Jadewood J2 Spinning Rod
That rod can handle all your applications. I use It as my go to shakey rod But have also used it wacky rigging, trigger. This rod is better than its price point and for 25% I'd buy a handleful of them.

good crankbait rod verses a great one
Since we are from the same area I'll throw my 2 cents in. I've found the deepest I'll cranks is 8' that means about of square bills and smaller cranks. I use a 7' Med moderate rod for the smaller cranks and enjoy it.

Gamma Fluorocarbon?
I'm interested in this to. I use gamma strings in all my tennis racquets never thought about their fishing line.

baitcasting problem.
I would have DVT look at it. Ive never had a problem with Okuma I love their Helios reels. It may just be defective. If you are looking for a new reel always check the flea market wether you buy Shimano or whatever. Personally I am not a fam of Shimano but to each their own

baitcasting problem.
I read people are helping you setup your casting reel but I think (correct me if I'm wrong) but you are saying you tightened the tension knob and brakes and when you depress the spool, without casting, they lure still pulls the spool. Is that it's the case yes there Is something not working in the tension knob I would Cantact Okuma again or have Dvt look at it for you.

Shimano Caenan150 or Casitas
Thanks guys but I want to try another reel from the new generation. I didn't like the last citica or Cuado but my wife has three caenan and loves them. But not sure the upgrade from $99 to $119
-
Shimano Caenan150 or Casitas
I am not a Shimano fan however I want to give them another try because I do like the Curado I. I am looking at either the new Caenan or Casitas 150. Is the Casitas worth the extra $20 or is the Caenan virtually the same reel for $100.

No Iaconelli in MLF this season?
I loved City Limit Fishing or whatever it was called that he hosted. It wasn't the same when Byron Velvick took it over. I watch his YouTube shoes Going Ole and Ikr Live.

No Iaconelli in MLF this season?
I could see that. I read an article after the selects that wheeler and Watson were complaining that the rules are too strict

No Iaconelli in MLF this season?
Ive been watching MLF all season long. i haven't seen Mike in fish a round yet and Saturday was the last event in the first round. Anyone know why Ike isn't fishing MLF? I only watch the Elite tour for Ike. I am partial to the FLW tour but love watching Ike.

Suggestions on a small swimbait rod
I can't use a rod longer than 7' 3" I can't fit in my suv. I planned on using this rig for flipping and swim baits

Can you help me remember this Daiwa
That one could be it. I don't remember the silver but the tip looks exactly like my old one.

Aaron Martens Edge Rods
I personally love the look of both the Aaron's Edge and the Phenom. However I like bright and different colors in everything. Actually my 2016 jersey is close in color to the Phenom. aesthetics Aside these rods are the best at their respective price point. I love the Microwave guides, light, sensitive, with plenty of backbone. i own 2 Phenoms and 3 Aaron's Edge. I have no problem buying either rod again.

Can you help me remember this Daiwa
About 6 years ago I bought a Team Daiwa spinning rod. it was a 6'6" med. I loved that rod. It was my favorite rod for weightless worms. My dog got a hold of it and chewed the guides off of it 4 years ago. I can't remember which rod it was. i bought it from Bass Pro for $40 discontinued. Looking back at it I believe it was either a S,T or Z name. The entire rod was black with red and yellow rod wrap and guide wrap. Any idea what the rod was?

Suggestions on a small swimbait rod
Thank you I like G Loomis but they are always out of my price range. Also I was looking at the Fury and it seems like a really good rod. I'll look at the Daiwa and Okuma as well

Do you favor a certain retrieve ratio?
7:1 and 8:1 are all my reels ratio. It is easier to slow down with a fast reel than speed up with a slow one
