  1. Well when local DicksSG had sale on curados I went but all they had were LH models figure just getting rid of leftover stock.
  2. I dont switch hands throw left reel right any type reel. I see people switch and think waste of energy but then its not me so what does it really matter what/how they cast. As long as a person is fishing & comfortable doing it oh well.
  3. Ive only used the 6# mostly throw a senko & crawlers. I dont catch big fish so I dont really feel underpowered with the line. The lake has very little structure as well so nothing to get tangled in. I dont use leader and dont think it has mattered Had my best 1-1/2 hrs stretch while using the line so the fish didnt mind it. Lake clear with 15' visibility. Now if leader for abrasion then that could be useful cause the line does fray after a few fish.
  4. Same as for reg PP. Did it say through the eye twice as well?
  5. Yeah I thought he was describing Stren PB
  6. I agree with this for sure. On nice evenings when the kids are playing out back Ill be sitting in a chair back there with bc a jig or frog tied on toosing at football, frisbee, post of swingset, liitle truck and the like. I started with bc at 10 now 43 didnt use a spinning reel til about 25 but still go out and practice but dont call it practicing call it relaxing Hang in there.
  7. Mine is a splice of Nitro Quake a radio control nitro monster truck I have and Steak n Shake restaurant. It was Dec1999 I just got back from SnS went to sign-up to site Radio Control Monster Truck and well went with QUAKEnSHAKE. Use it on all but 2 forums I frequent. Ive been into RC 33 years racing on-road off-road cars trucks nitro and electric. Some boats here and there but mosty land rc. Oh just bought a cheep indoor heli to mess around with and the kids love it too.
  8. This was discussed in the thread you started 1/25 http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/96617-braid-or-mono/page__fromsearch__1
  9. Glad to have helped They had this discount sale about a month ago and I got an Elite for $132
  10. Myself I dont go technique spiecific I use 7' Med Fast for all-purpose so no help there. My favorite rod is a St Croix Avid 8' MedLt Mod rod my fav braid is 10# PowerPro,dont use mono, hopefully TATSU will be my fav fluoro.
  11. St Croix top rods on sale http://www.stcroixro...water-23-1.html Xtremes for $250 -XC66MF- and Legends Tour Bass for $160- LTBC70MF
  12. The BPS site on their "store selector" showing Gurnee as the Chicago store. The stores do have somewhat different inventory.
  13. The St Croix Legend Tournament Bass rod LTBC70MM is on sale for $161 regularly $230 http://www.stcroixrods.com/shop/catalog/Freshwater-23-1.html
  14. Any more comparision between this BAWO line and TATSU? Looking to go light-duty fluoro on a 50E & SupremeXT30 wanting-- #1 sensitiveity, #2 line management which is the better? Knot strength, overall strength? Abrasion doent matter, nothing but weeds in the lake I fish 90% of time. Looking at 6# but MAYBE 8# if manageability wont suffer but if 6# will be MUCH beter thats what I prefer. THANKS
  15. I scratch my head on this as well. Ive used BC for 30+ years and the last 9-10 has been with braid 8-20# and really dont need any heavier. Got to look at the structure surroundings of the waters fished I guess. And the size fish, I dont catch big bass so 20# in my waters is more than plenty.
  16. For crappie a cross-its-eyes hookset is not needed. A hard hookset is not needed. The weight (fish/lure) is much less. These are what contributes to digging. If used properly digging is not an issue crappie fishing with 10# braid. You dont have hard hooksets or you rip/tear the lips off. You need to go lighter on the rod as well a MH power XF bass rod isnt the greatest for crappie use and wont help get distance with light cranks. Of course there is also a limit on how light you can toss with bc 3/32-1/8oz crank I can get 40' or so. A 1/16oz mini-mite by itself well good luck and yeah spinning is what I use. But going to say a 5" senko for some 13-15" bass 10# will work fine too.
  17. Yes, when accustomed to braid and the feedback you get every little twitch from the fish fighting going to mono makes the fight feel like your reeling in a dead fish.
  18. Not in my experience used 10#PP since 03 on bc. If it didnt work well I wouldnt have stayed with it. For small bass will work just fine.
  19. I use braid 8# for crappie & use braid 10# on bc. Trilene XL 8# I used on bc til went braid, wont use mono but for backing anymore. If fluoro doesnt work well for me I think Ill be putting 10# braid on my 50E. Get a bad kink from backlash on 6#mono and the line will be weakened.
  20. Braid is my all-purpose line 8-10-20#. Tried the 10#YZHUS on SupremeXT30 but just not for me(wrong app??). I did notice a big difference in feedback and had other issues that I dont care for. I will be trying fluoro 6# and hope it works out better. Braid can be had for around $10 not high at all to give it a try at least. Look for sales I got 300yds 20# Strem PB for $10 at DSG
  21. I think they are going bonkers then. Im pretty sure if I ask my fishing pals (5) at work about Powell they wouldnt have a clue who they are. One might and thats an iffy might at best. I really dont know much about them never seen a product of theirs. I looked at the dealer locator and only 2 dealers listed for Illinois none for Wisconsin so that would be rather hard to find to check out locally. I checked BPS Cabelas nothing there. So I agree with the have to search it out be more informed to want one
  22. Do you have a Dicks Sporting Goods near? I just got back and they have Curado 200E clearance $129.97 and 25% off that price. Same goes for rods that end with .93 or .97
  23. Well Im going do do both. On my 50E will spool all fluoro from a 200yd spool then the rest will go on a Supreme XT 30 with filler.
  24. I do like in that link, with putting on braid 1st then mono to capacity then switch around. I attach the line-spool to a drill though to make take-off quicker.
