I was set to get the MGX but got the $99 deal on a 50E so there went that. But my mind might have been changed anyway with the coming Johnny Morris Carbonlite. At $129 and 5.9oz good rep for other carbonlites would have thought very hard about shelling out $220 more for the MGX. Might still get the JMC reel. So yeah MGX if money not an issue.

I dont. Jigs for me are verticle slight twitches up/down. Beetlespins around through brush timber structure moving.

You can use bobber as well with jig and let the motion of the water wiggle the jig. With bobber on also reel in 5' or so stop repeat.

See for me this the the area that didnt wow me. Ive used PP for years exclusively and know the feedback well and with this Nano I lost a number of nightcrawlers and never felt the slightess tick but then like you jig or senko dragging on bottom it has very good feedback.

Yep I went and took it out does make a difference. Ive read that part can cause issues too so like it helps and it can hurt so I went with the better feel. Going to call the hobbyshop to check if they have bearings for the bushings in the handle knobs.

Pretty much the same here. I use 6# no leader. The fraying too like after about 3-4 fish will re-tie. My initial impression of it didnt wow me but the stuff grew on me over use to where I really like it, Oh,It blows in the wind, the line at times looks like an S with say a weightless nightcrawler on it. About the color I fish a decently clear lake 10'-15' down 30' away I can see a nightcrawler. My best 1-1/2hr fishing ever on this lake was with this line tied to a senko and I caught 14 bass. I could see the bass schooling and just toss to them they didnt mind the line at all nor has my catch rate went down other times.

Do you plan to take out the antireverse pawl?

Bearing blaster and brakleen I just used as well. Read that the Brakleen was Acetone. JFrancho mentioned in another post about soaking. I blasted the bearings then sprayed some brakleen in a jar then soaked the bearings swished a few times (repeat) then gave another blaster treatment. Let dry. Then drop of REM oil. My reel is SLICK-IT-TEE-SLICK now. Flip the handle & will spin 20 or so revolutions. Thanks JFrancho

I see -Link,unlink,Image,code,quote,twitter but not the media. There is the My Media but I dont think that it. It work the same way "Image" works.

St Croix has 7' light 1pc rods On the 2pc I have a 2pc 8'MLM Avid that has been a great rod I feel. Its still more sensitive than my 7' Smoke 1pc rod and my 6'6" Premier 1pc rod. Never has it come apart or felt as it would, actually never think about it.

One thing I have read and still not quite sure about is if/if not ceramic bearings add noise to the reel. I pretty much like my reels to be silent no whine ticks weeee stuff like that. So if this is a concern for you as well maybe look into this issue.

Well I would think the actual casting of a baitcaster upsidedown makes it difficult to thumb the spool.

Well according to the BPS catalog thie $129.99 price is an "INTRO SPECIAL" so from that it may go up in price at some point.
