  1. Try a very light lure then a heavier one see which you think get more distance relative to same on other line. Seems to me returns are less the heavier you go.
  2. Its cause of that "new boat smell" need to coat the hull with megastrike
  3. Here a couple more nanofil catches via senko, on tight line can really feel the ticks and release of pressure when a fish bites so that better than my lack of feel on slack line as mentioned above. Ill add that though the fish Im catching arent big up to 15" they are off the bottom in weeds and I use the Naonofil knot have not had an issue/loss yet.
  4. I was suprised by this guy never really catch these so this is now my PB at 10 1/2" Didnt fight much at all but it sure a nice looking fish. If you have pics let me see your perch catch.
  5. used #6 Nano 8'MedLt Mod St Croix Avid rod and Shimano StradicFI 1000 reel. Thought I would post some distances for people that may be thinking of getting this Nanofil line. I took actual measurements not guessing throwing on flat ground; very calm so no wind to hinder or help. A 1/8oz bitsy minnow, 1/8 oz jig w/RT baby craw, zoom fluke.
  6. Okeechobee craw is the color I use as well in the RageTail Baby Craw line.
  7. Ive used #6 for a few weeks dont fish near mussels but can tell you catching just 3-4 12"-14" bass will cause the line to fray noticeably so re-tie is necessary. Ive noticed too that the lighter the lure/bait the better difference between this and braid in distance. Example like one inch piece of worm will go much further with Nano than 10/2 powerpro. But throwing a 1/8oz Bitsy Minnow about the same around 60' and throwing 5" Senko my distances are about the same. Another thing I have noticed is the drag on the guides reeling underpressure seems to be more apparent. It just seems to require more effort at times to reel in same size fish compared to PP. Line is growing on me though the more I use it. At first I thought I waisted my money but now its more like another "tool" for very light stuff. Here I have a little more info and here
  8. No Thanks Ill pass I dont run mine much just spend most spare time fishing now.
  9. Ive tried it here is my little review Ive use it more and will add that for me the sensivity on slack line is not the greatest. Ive lost a number of crawlers, over a couples days, and didnt feel a thing as it happened. I tried a wacky/senko and just missing something its not relaying the bottom like I thought it would. Ive used Bitsy Minnow and just cant feel the vibration/wobble like I do with braid. I did distance comparision with 10/2 PP(very broken-in) and 8/1 PP(new) and really not much differenc. I took pics of the distance but cant really tell the distance well, too much reflection. It diffinately has a smooth feel going through the guides. The line does stay coiled a bit after a cast but wil straighten out with slight tension. It is not uniform it does have slight variance as you slide fingers down a length of the line. The first day I used it had some slight digging after a catch. The second day (after re-spool) well the fish didnt want to be caught just one little 9" bass(bitsy minnow) didnt have any dig with that fish.
  10. The SHOCK Rod is on sale at Cabelas $30 7' MH Print it out take it to Dicks or where ever to price match. Ive had Gander price match before http://www.cabelas.com/product/Bargain-Cave/Fishing/Rods%7C/pc/105591780/c/105740280/sc/105742080/Berkley174-Lightning-Rod174-Shock-Casting-Rods/703944.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Fbargain-cave-fishing-rods%2F_%2FN-1102769%2FNo-48%2FNs-CATEGORY_SEQ_105742080%3FWTz_l%3DSEO%253Bcat105591780%253Bcat105740280%26WTz_st%3DGuidedNav%26WTz_stype%3DGNP&WTz_l=SEO%3Bcat105591780%3Bcat105740280%3Bcat105742080
  11. Yeah the c4 has some weight to it(I have a 5600c4) so get a rod that balances well with it. Heck the MOJO might balance well with it Ive read that its tip heavy. I havd a Quantum Smoke rod and Premier and would put the Smoke above the Premier sensitivity/balance areas but the Premier is still pretty good. I put my C4 on the Smoke but it didnt feel right. The C4 sits high in the seat and just felt high-centered. I have another rod (pflueger) that the reelseat is lower and that is what the C4 goes on feels better. So maybe pick a rod 1st then match to the Revo S or C4.
  12. Got to use the stuff for a 1-1/2hr not that much time to critique it but initally the distance as compared to 10#PP on same combo is well not much difference and no wind at all to deal with. I went with my Med Lt set-up which is a Stradic 1000 and Avid 8' MedLt Mod rod throwing nightcrawlers. I use worms a lot so very fimiliar with the distance I get but with little worms I think my distace wasnt changed much at all. My PP is well broken-in IDK if nanofil needs some time to loosen a bit. After my first catch I did notice that the line started to stick on the next cast. I was like huh so I slowly pulled on the line and yes it was slightly sticking. So I made a few other cast and sticking went away. Caught another bass and so following cast made sure to look at this and yes the line stuck/dig in again. This may be due to the weightless crawler use but didnt think this would happen with this line. The line does cast smoothly so when it catches its noticeable. I just today re-spooled the line and got it on tighter. I used the nanofil knot and left about 1/8" tag and after the 5 fish caught tne tag same lenght so the knot didn slip with these small bass. One bass the 2nd pictured was in weed mat and it took some pulling to get it along with a pound of weeds. Sensitivity will need more time with but I did loose 2 crawlers and didnt feel a thing so that had me puzzeled I saw the line move but didnt feel it no doubt in my mind I would have felt it with PP done that literally hundres of times. Oh yeah the line very easy to see even with my dark lens sunglasses on.
  13. I 3rd the SK Bitsy Minnow in firetiger or chartreuse black-back if you want to go the lure route. For me a #4 or #6 hook and nightcrawler no weight just worm and hook is a fish catcher. Hook just the first inch of fat end let rest hang, if going bait route for bass bigger gills.
  14. I ventured over to Dick's Sporting Goods today and noticed they have ALL line 20% off that ends in .99 so grabbed some Nanofil #6 which is $19.99 and got the 20% off. It didnt ring-up this way had to mention it to the cashier. Now just figure which set-up to put it on. One thing Ive not read much on is the breaking strength of this line. I sort-of wanted to get #4 test for my UL set-up but just couldnt go that low for my piece of mind. I know its my UL set-up but I use 8/1 PP on it now. I fish around rocks and do catch bass catfish on it. Have any here read of the actual strength of the line?
  15. I use the Pflueger President 6720 on a St Croix Premier 4'6" UL Mod action rod and lately been tossing Strike King Bitsy Minnow. The Bitsy Minnow is rated at 1/8oz =.125 but all 6 of the ones I have are lighter around .082-.086oz yet they toss pretty far. Would love to get one that actually weighed 1/8oz get oustanding distance.
  16. Your boat looks very nice to me if its getting the job done for you money might be best directed other areas.
  17. Good info BASSclary especially the fit from one pair to another pair of same frame.
  18. Mine has a one piece aluminum frame.
  19. I bought a Pinnacle Deadbolt Classic 8 years ago and its still going strong use it quite a lot. If you are a novice the best thing to do is practice with it often.
  20. I have the Smoke as well 7' MF and yes it pretty sensitive and light 3.4oz. Its more sensitive than my St Croix Premier and just a touch less than my Avid. I would say if you have a Premier you would be downgrading by going to Vendetta.
  21. On another forum Ive read Pixy owner toss 30' with 1/16oz grub jig & a 6'9" MLXF rod
  22. St Croix Premier are nice if you can find them on sale regular price is around $110 for ML Fast 7'. I got 2 on clearance under $50 a while back.
  23. Senko BAMA bug SK Bitsy Minnow- Firetiger or Chartreuse black back Spro Frog GreenTree
  24. I too have the President 6720 its a great little reel I have it on a St Croix Premier UL 4'6" rod. Its brought in a few 15"-16" lmb and a couple 20" catfish. Im looking at trying 4# Nanofil line on it but just waiting for more reviews. I also tried the BPS Micro-lite Elite reel but it had issues with sticking not very smooth so returned it and thats when I got the President.
