  1. Whenever I have an Owner hook tied on. I lose more fish with Owner hooks than all other brands combined ever.
  2. I have way too many res that dont run true.
  3. Darkest would be Oakley Black Iridium Polarized lens. They get darker than Costa Blue mirror where I still felt the need to squint. The mirror coating blue green yellow red purple as little to do with how dark the lens get might add 1% light reduction or so depending on brand. The base color is the most important factor for darkness of lens. I have a pair of raybans that dont fully wrap around and like others have mentioned light that gets in from the side/top shows a reflection in the inside of the lens and hard to see. This is the case with other brands of aviator style as well. I had Oakley Wardens aviator style not the best to fish while wearing.
  4. A few St Croix Triumph 30% off https://www.cabelas.com/product/bargain-cave/fishing/rods/pc/105591780/c/105740280/sc/105742080/st-croix-triumph-spinning-rods/738312.uts?slotId=8
  5. Dont think the 70 is obsolete at all. Had 70HG then bought Chronarch MGL(on sale $234)returned it bought a second 70(XG). I also have an upgraded Chronarch CI4 so although the MGL was very nice it just didnt excel over what I already have. It 70 is also at the top compared to any other reel at its price point. I would place it above the Tat SV or any LOSE for same $$.
  6. I dont think the warranty was involved at all with your instance so no harm scam whatever. That $35 would be the regular tip top price for a Mojo rod. I have purchased a couple tip sections for my 2pc Avid and, if I remember correctly, they were around that price shipped no warranty involved.
  7. PERFECT Leave it loose not excessively but loose
  8. Long casts for me just off hand Id say 8 out of top 10 of my largest bass have hooked into passed 100 feet. Im shore bound mostly and Im picturing casting only 45 feet at my favorite little lake, that wont cut it, wouldnt get lure to so many good spots/areas. I can think of a number of spots past 100 feet that I could call a honey hole they produce routinely. There are times getting to reach particular honey holes requires the wind blowing from certain direction.
  9. I agree with Squarebill79 get smaller hooks I also have a 5' UL Ugly Stick and use 1"gulp minnows but use 1/124,1/80,1/64 jig heads. 1/80 pictured uses #10 size hook
  10. The best out there Keitech swing impact fats 2.8"
  11. Different lines could be 8# nanofil for 1/8-3/8 16# Sniper FC for 1/4-3/4 10-20-30-60 test braid for any of them depends on what reels I have on hand. Rods range moderate to xtra fast.
  12. Get a curado 70 its a better performing reel.
  13. Your conclusion proves you wrong. Cant compare parabolic to fast thats apples to oranges need to compare fast to fast parabolic to parabolic and still a person using a 4' short parabolic rod will lift a 10 pound weight easier than a 10' parabolic rod all other features being equal.
  14. Shovel half a driveway with a 12" snowfall with a 10 foot shovel(good luck) and other half with a 4 foot shovel. A shovel is a 3rd class lever just as a fishing rod is a 3rd class lever. The shorter the lever the more power you have. http://www.softschools.com/examples/simple_machines/class_three_lever_examples/513/
  15. I think the ones putting down throwing TRD's with baitcasting gear just dont have the skills to do so. No one has given a valid reason to not use baitcaster if a person has that capability. A quality baitcaster can easily throw one 100 feet, be very accurate closer range, can skip them when/where needed. If a person chooses to use spinning nothing wrong with that I use them too for neds and other lure not ragging on them. If I can use bc whats it to anyone else. Its not the wrong tool its a perfectly good optional tool.
  16. The zman shroomz 1/20. Just not very durable though if leave the TRD on the hook rusts quickly I also just received the new Trokar finesse ned head 1/15 and 1/10 size https://www.cabelas.com/product/Trokar-Pro-V-Finesse-Tungsten-Jighead/2941573.uts?slotId=1 and the new Eagle claw to try out. https://www.cabelas.com/product/Eagle-Claw-Lazer-Sharp-Pro-V-Finesse-Jighead/2941562.uts?slotId=3 Duel purpose the 1/10 size will be for 2.8 Fat Keitech paddletails
  17. According to the description it does Its smooth, balanced Air Rotor with Air Bail system further reduces weight by another 15% ------- I have the Daiwa RG-AB and would choose it again over my president no hesitation. Would even rather by another RG-AB over my Supreme XT or Stradic. I see no benefit to the higher priced reels.
  18. Yes, they skip very easily with bc reels too. I use 10 pound braid and mostly 1/20oz jighead.
  19. Also if you listen and hear the squeal while they reel a fish in most are using braid.
  20. Kanzen is worse than smackdown. Had 15 pound kanzen that wouldnt hold a knot passed 9-10 pounds, very weak. My 8# Nanofil with same knot holds to 12 pounds. --- About customer service good luck with them tried numerous times they never contacted me back.
  21. Get a higher pound test than you use in other lines cause smackdown is a bit overrated. 30# Smackdown isnt any stronger than 20# power pro,832,gamma for example. Ive had instances where 30# broke rather easily trying to free snags.
  22. Saying ikas are more durable than senkos in no way means ikas shine in the durability department. They tear rip get tossed off many times after just one fish. Pony up for ikas, like the senko and keitech swing impact fats, theres none better.
