16# Sniper FC

I have this gear set in one of my 70's I like the low ratio. The reel holds 200' of 16# sniper fc plenty for my use.

Look at it this way. There are many out there that feel fishing as a sport is unethical and want to ban fishing altogether.

Fishing from shore my surroundings most often dictate position of the rod more than lure selection. A honey hole requires rod nearly vertical due to all the brush. Other spot its rod low set hook to left only. One area paralleling the bank its rod straight out and extended.

I use a fish-n-fool knot its close to the same as uni while being stronger than palomar.

I use 16# .33mm Sniper FC holds 200'

The original Quantum Smoke rod is my most underrated rod also Okuma Helios rods. Overrated my LTB rod Cumara rod and for sure Kistler rod, Fenwick elite tech bass rod was a disappointment as well. Pinnacle Deadbolt Classic baitcaster reel and Daiwa RG-AB spinning reel feel those were underrated. Stradic FI FK and CI4 and CI4+ spinning reels overrated. Daiwa SV105 and Tatula SV overrated baitcasting reels.

This tip is on a 13 fishing rod. It glued poorly twisted off center and crooked along with other defect. Not really the fault of the store it was bought from just poor quality from 13, it got returned.

St croix Avid 8' medium light moderate with Daiwa RG-AB 2000 & 8# Nanofil throwing 2.8 fats on 1\8 Trokar swimbait jighead.

The hooks are a little of a disappointment for "Megabass" name on them. I had a lot of missed strikes and checked the point of the hook, not that sharp. I now sharpen all out of package sleepers and that helps greatly. Also the length of cast you can get on a 1/2-1oz size (150'+)makes for more difficult hookset with stretchy lines 20-25 feet down on the bottom. ------- I have noticed I get a lot of strikes on the fall with the lighter size 1/4-3/8 vs the heavier sizes. Ive used a few colors and doesnt seem to matter. It was my best "new" lure last year.

Trokar are the sharpest these have a stout short shank hook as well for better body movement and on sale at tackle warehouse.
