Look on aeriel satallite maps to find spots google bing others they might show some things of interest. Like on my lake here see the road that connected the two points its now about 7'-10' under. In another area you can see underwater points a pillar and some tree limbs

So braid has better heat dissipating capabilities than fc another plus for braid

Looks to me like smackdown handle a bit better. Ive had bass rub my powerpro along rocks which would be similar to your test though my pp didnt last that long. I dont think the pressure of my line on rock was as hard as what it seemed you put on your test either. So I think your test has some practicality to it.

Oh thats been the case on a number of my new rods. I think the reel is in good but once starting to use or first fish put on some torque it just need a bit more tightening.

How these rods doing for you so far? I just ordered the 7' MH/F their website has them listed @3.6ounces

Awesome rod I think is St Croix Avid 8' ML Mod rod. For an 8' rod its only 3.6ounces. The fun part of this rod is the Mod action that gives the long arc to the rod when fighting fish. Awesome is the sensitivity this rod has to feel the light biters. The length you can reach over brush near the shore and drop right next to shore. The extra length helps with longer casts. I have a Stradic 1000 on mine. Here a range of fish that this rod is a plast to catch.

Well Im still impressed with my $70 Pinnacle reel I bought in 2003. The thing will cast a little bitsy minnow 35-40 feet and shame my 50E with 3/4oz spoon. The thing has been a tank as well. I left it on the top of my vehicle and drove away heard sliding noise from top of my car look in rearview mirror see my pinnacle reel sliding across the road 45mph into the curb. Aside from a rather nice scuff mark no damage done.

I dont know about this but Im sure not changing my braid twice a year. Im using braid 5-10 years old on my reels and the strength is still there. My PB was with line 3 years old but that was nanofil some call it a braid but it isnt. My previous PB was frog fishing slop with 8 year old Power Pro. About the only reason I change my braid is it runs out or to try new style/brand.

I do all the time practically 90% of my fishing is done with senko, ika, hydra, tube style baits. Im dragging across hopping across the bottom of a 22-25' deep lake and making 120+' casts. At this length braid is much better with hook-ups do to lack of stretch. Still have very good feedback of lure when actually dragging lure much better sensitivity with braid. Dont need to have line tight but some tautness even on fall you will feel the take. Slack line has its minuses as well giving too much slack with FC and by the time slack gets reeled in fish has discharged the bait. Even with FC Sniper, hooking into a fish at 70+ feet on the bottom of a weedy 20' lake was hindered due to its stretch. Sensitivity isnt going to help much if the stretch is so that the hook doesnt get set well.Also the sensitivity of braid make the fight more enjoyable being able to feel what the fish is doing shaking twisting up/down movements all this feedback enhanced with braid dulled with fluoro.

The operator of the reel will most likely be the #1 factor to accomplish this feat with todays low profile reels. I have an 11 year old $70 Pinnacle reel that I get this distance with 1/2oz res. All my other reels, in my hands, will as well.

I just go, didnt have one trip planned this year.. Ive been on my way to one lake then change my mind turn and go to different one.
