  1. These are "typical" fish of Lake Baccarac. It truly is an AMAZING fishery, and the best lake in the world right now to catch a DD bass! If anyone is interested in going, contact me here on BR, or via email at Jeffstravel@yahoo.com Right now I have a discounted rate on a trip going down on October 16th via private air directly to the lake. Jeff
  2. I use a 7mh/f avid or 7 h/f avid with 12-15lb flouro, tungsten weight and a nice thick hook. Last weekend I caught a 5lb 1oz on a 10'' Rage Tail Thumper with a 7'MH/F St Croix Avid and 15lb Invisx Flouro in 21 FOW. Jeff
  3. Numbers are still low, but the big fish are still here... First week of July.
  4. Couple caught at Lake Baccarac Lodge so far this month
  5. As far as those spooted bass go, I once held the potential IGFA World Record in my hand. I had, like many others, hooked into this one and it broke me off. And like so many other bass, when it was thrashing around to get my broken off hook out of its mouth, it jumped into my boat. Not knowing the difference at the time, I foolishly released it back into the water without a picture or an official weight. But I am sure it was the IGFA World Record!!!! Jeff
  6. And my buddy with the darkest smallie I have ever seen I do not know what the difference is besides, if you put them in the livewell they get their stripes back nicely for pictures!! Jeff

  13. Yesterday....here are some of the trees and stuff I dumoed in.... But seriously back on topic, get the most truck you can afford. Get the 4x4. And don't always get caught up in the mileage. My truck is about to turn over 100K, but it has been meticulously maintained, and would be a better buy for someone than the same said truck with half the miles, that was not taken care of properly. Mine is not for sale BTW!!!! Jeff
  14. Ok, fine.....here is the most recent pic I have of it....
  15. I love it. The reason I have 3 now. I use it mainly for jigs, but I always seem to have a couple of those tied on all the time....... Jeff

  20. I pull with a Toyota Tundra 4x4. That being said, unless you launch from gravel or dirt ramps or fish a ton in below freeing temps, a 4x2 should be fine. But that one time you need the 4x4, it pays for itself! Jeff
  21. I tried punching it soon afterwards, but my largest tungsten weight on me was 1 oz, and I needed more! It was thick. Next time I will have more weight for sure! Jeff
