  1. May I suggest you take a look at the Powells? The Max 753 jig rod to be specific. Exceptionally sensitive rod, and very well-balanced unlike the longer spinning Powell Maxes. Disclaimer is I don't own any $200+ (regular bass) rods.
  2. Nice fish man,
  3. Find a big bucket, and a stopwatch, and count the sink rates after rigging trailers, skirts etc. Nerd info: In vacuum, they all will have identical sink rates.
  4. Rapala floating minnows, and poppers. Topwaters are fun to fish. Fish them with twitches of the rod, for a start.
  5. Don't have the Shock, but the regular Lightning rod is great. Best $25 rod I ever bought.
  6. I know what you're saying. I got rid of a Revo Toro Winch and then a Daiwa Luna because I wasn't in love with them. Got a Curado 301DSV, and now everything is perfect!
  7. X3. Definitely give Matt's baits a try; you won't be disappointed.
  8. I just use the tackle warehouse shipping tubes. I also make sure to pack the rod tightly so that it doesn't move about inside the tube.
  9. Skeet Reese's Pit Boss seems to work well for what little pitching/ flipping I do.
  10. Like this version a lot: And also this song (excuse the video):
  11. When was this? A similar thing happened to me once; I was the buyer. USPS website said "delivered", and I never received anything. After a few phone calls (to USPS managers/ postman), and about three or four days, the reel I bought turned up on my doorstep.
  12. This. I own and fish plenty of ragetails myself; but there are days when a less-action trailer (I like chigger craws) have produced better fish (not necessarily more).
  13. Think it was an X-rap size 8. I haven't been bass fishing that long.
  14. Glad to see you were able to go out Sam. P.S. No wonder it's a "double secret" location. (Just funning around. I'm sure you're good enough to catch numbers and size anywhere.)
  15. Stay safe, guys (and girls).
  16. I'd spend a little more on a casting reel, especially if buying new; compared to a spinning reel.
  17. Not quite free, since I already promised to return it to its owner; but ladies and gentlemen, here's today's catch.

There's no such thing as too small or too big a lure IMO. If the bass are feeding on 2" baitfish, I won't try to catch them with a 10" bait; and viceversa,
  19. Good stuff T Joe!
  20. Corn hole reports work too! I need to learn how to play it someday. Glad you're having fun.
  21. Amazing they're still up! We like chatterbaits and curly-tail worms here.
  22. A happy birthday to the bearded one!
