  1. Plastik it does get any smaller than the Daiwa Presso.
  2. I'm putting together a combo to fish lures in the Baby Griffon weigh range. I already have the rod and I was pretty much ready to order a Liberto Pixy but I have the chance to fish with one this weekend and the reel didn't feel right in my hand. very small, cast like a champ so. The other thing is the spool capacity is very limited, 8 lbs/80 yds. The second is the Daiwa Alpha type F, but I don't think I'm going to be able to try one. I would appreciate the opinion of those who have use any of these reels as well as other options in the marquet. I will not use any one with centrifugal pin system. Thanks in advance.
  3. Another one from me
  4. I agree with Mickey but I don't have any that slow. I use an old ( real old ) Quantum Accurist 401 that at 5.0:1 bring 19 "/turn. If you are lefty like me there are not to many options. I think that when you are talking about med/deep cranking an slow reel and thin line are critical. The rod, fiberglass, e-glass ( s-glass is coming in 07 )or combinations of it with moderate action. I use a Seeker 706 ( my favorite ) and the CBR 845 that does the job good too but I use it for wire lures as well.
  5. I think the best reel for the money out there is the Daiwa Procaster, nice, smooth and trouble free, no one reporting problems with it and has been around for a while already. I gave one to my best friend and he has bit the hell of it, it is like a champ, cast even better than some of my higher end reels. If you want to expend more I can recommend you the Quantums Accurist PT and Energy PT. I fish with this guys 3-4 time a week year around and I have no complains. The Abu Revo SX and STX look good in paper but I don't own any. I hate the centrifugal pin system so none of them will be in my list. I think the rest of the guys will agree, get the best you can afford and you will not regret it. Good luck.
  6. I have the Quantum Tour Burner for almost a year now and have been performed very well, smooth, pretty much backlash free but is haevy. On my frog set I have a Daiwa TD-Z. If I would have another frog combo, I'll be considering the Abu Garcia Revo SX and STX.
  7. This is what I do too. Every one of my reels that he worked on performed better than brand new. I also get my oil and grease from him.....I can't find another lubricant with a better warranty.
  8. Thanks a lot Raul. One more thing, the MG and the 1000 share the same drag ?
  9. I'm with you.
  10. Agree, I was a Power Pro fan now I'm all Sufix, best braid out there.
  11. Agree 100 %
  12. Sizmic Pop'N Toad brown/chart. for me.
  13. I got yesterday the ETX 10 SLC since I can't find a low speed for a lefty in other brands, it feels like crap, the handle wiggly and the reel make noice, it went back this morning. I like the Extreme rods but the reels...never again.
  14. For me the Rapala DT-4, Bomber Square A and Bandit 100 are the best lures on that cathegory. Lipless and jerkbaits are for me a different topic. There LC rules. I think that Sure Set Treble on the front are a sure set trouble all over.
  15. Try Monsoor Swimming Jig with a GY grub.....the Fukae's formula
  16. My lure of the Fall so far, Gambler Loco Lizard, explosive action. Thanks Brad_Covert for the tip
  17. Exactly.....All 20 of my baitcasters are LH...There was a book published on this topic called Powerhand Baitcasting by Rich Forhan in 1997... Tight Lines All!!! I'm with you....reeling in is the only thing I do best with my left hand :-/
  18. About the same for be. Black/blues and junebug for stain water and variation of watermelon for the clear one.
  19. I'm a little bit late but I loved the video Great job
  20. Redtail of couple of things I did that made my hook set ratio better. Fish will hold on a frog much longer than other soft plastics, so don't set the hook right away, let the fish take the lure under water and set the hook when you fill his weight. The other thing I do with the Zismic Pop'N Toad floating is to add a 1/0 trailer hook, put a piece of tubing under the hook, in that way will stay between the frog's legs and pretty much weedless. This Summer I got more fish with that setting than with any other soft plastic. Good luck
  21. My Dad. I wasn't able to walk yet the first time he took me in the boat....deep sea fishing. He, in the other hands, never bass fished.....I think I introduced myself to it, just I could fish more often.
  22. For a C-rig presentation
