  1. My female chocolate lab wants to do the same thing. She's 2 years old and so very full of energy...good dog though.
  2. I've been meaning to ask how the thumpers are. So how are they? I'm a huge fan of space monkies and smokin roosters but have yet to try out the thumper. I just picked up a pack of Anacondas and eliminators to try out.....The action looks awesome and as soon as the Ice melts away I'm going to give em a whirl. What size Thumpers do you use? Thanks Ask EastTexasBassin, he slays them on those, lol.
  3. I just wanted to order some colors of SK Silent cranks because I don't have any good cranks left. I was pretty surprised to find that someone totally raided the colors in both the red eyed shads and kvd silent cranks. As far as people picking the exact color as KVD did in the classic, that's just stupid. People need to stop and realize that he chose that color because that specific situation dictated that he use that color. It makes no sense to me, really....
  4. Incredible work..! They're almost too pretty to fish.
  5. Looks like they have a pretty good deal on a lot of SK products at the bargain cave, check it out! http://www.cabelas.com/browse.cmd?categoryId=107838180&WTz_l=SBC%3Bcat104793480
  6. Both bass command respect, nicely done! I really need to learn new techniques, getting too skunked these days.
  7. Last week I reeled in a pillow case filled with about 20lbs of mud with a lipless crank. Talk about awkward...
  8. 1. Bass Battles 2. The Bass Pros 3. Strike King Classics 4. Hook n Look
  9. I like the 3/0 mustad straight shank hooks, they're cheap and they get the job done. Best of all, they can be purchased at walmart.
  10. This kid always impresses me, so young, yet so very very good.
  11. Awesome looking stuff, nice job! I especially like the school of crappie jigs and that buzzbait. Those would slay the water down here.
  12. Interesting you say that, I was just checking that out a couple of days ago. I noticed they have a cleaner, polish, and preventative as well. Thanks for the suggestion.
  13. Anyone know of a really good pontoon polishing product? Would like to get those pontoons sparkling again!
  14. Is there any bait you can't make? lol, nicely done.
  15. Maybe you should start putting a leader on your line. In the canal I fish, there's an overpopulation of chain pickeral, gar, and alligators. The reason I don't put on a leader is because I am usually throwing 20#-50# power pro braided line. I've been fortunate enough not to catch/snag a gator, but I've caught plenty of chain pickeral and florida gars. Hope this helps.
  16. Rage tail craw chunks, matched to the jig color.
  17. I can spend around 300$, I just don't want to make the wrong choice. With so many different ones on the market it makes for a really difficult decision.
  18. What's the big difference between the XF tip and the F tip? Is it really that big of a difference?
  19. That rod actually looks really nice, I'm seriously going to consider that one. It looks like the lure weight is pretty flexible too, 1/4-3/8, which is what I'm throwing 99% of the time. Thanks for your awesome suggestion. Actually the lure rating is 1/4 to 3/4 oz for that one. I have the Compre MH/F (3/8 to 1 oz); it's a decent rod for the money. Any bait over 1/2 oz that's not a deep-diver or a swimbait goes on this one. I'd suggest getting the MH/F as opposed to the M/F. The Citica 201E that I have on this rod doesn't throw 1/4 oz lures very well; but then I never really bother with baitcasters unless the lure is over 1/2 oz - I love my spinning set-ups too much Yeah, looks like I mis-read it, lol. I was also leaning more towards the 6'10 Med Hvy X-Fast rod. It's rated for 1/4oz - 1oz, looks pretty good to me. I also saw on TW that Shimano is offering a 20$ rebate off the Compre, and a 10$ rebate off of the Clarus from February 1, 2011 May 31, 2011 8-).

  21. I'm not sure either but I do know a Citica/Crucial feels great in the hand. Pair them up at a store and see. I did and was almost sorry I went with Compre rods instead. Not too sorry though. My Citica/Compre feels really good too. Any type of store that carries both of those is too far away from where I live . I'll just have to trust my gut on this I suppose. Thanks for the boost of confidence .
  22. It seems I'm pretty partial to Shimano reels, don't know why. My only concern is how well balanced would the setup be with my first selection, an Abu Garcia Veritas + a Shimano Citica 200e? Would the reel be better balanced with a shimano crucial? I don't really know...
  23. Zebco... nuff said. Don't know if that really means much, seeing as how Zebco owns Quantum, not to say they're the end-all be-all.
  24. So, I was watching an episode of The Bass Pros a couple weeks ago and mr. KVD said his #1 pick for the best all-around rod and reel was a 6'10 mh rod paired with a 6.6:1 gear ratio reel. Now obviously hes going to promote quantum because he's getting paid to. I'm not mad at him for that, or saying their products are subpar, but it got me thinking if that's really the best choice. I was thinking about something similar without breaking the bank. Possibly a shimano citica paired with like an abu garcia veritas? What are the thoughts or other opinions on this? Thanks.
