  1. Buy some off morelures...hes got some sick looking hand poured ones. Not sure if he sells them though.
  2. I thought he was with Excalibur for a little while? Maybe I am mistaken. I'm just curious to see who all he has been with.
  3. Boy George!!...just kidding. Dave Mustaine \m/ \m/
  4. Haha, extreme fishing there. I even cringed when I saw that gator charge you .
  5. Just curious, does anyone know some of KVD's old sponsors that he is no longer signed with?
  6. Thanks. I'm a ragetail fanatic, just don't like how easy the claws pull off em.
  7. They look pretty good, anyone have any feedback on these? http://www.***.com/Culprit_Creature_Craw_8pk/descpage-CULPCRC.html
  8. Northstar also offers painted heads in a few different styles. They're also a BR advertiser. You could give them a try. http://www.northstarbaits.com/home.html
  9. Looks good. What kind of head style is that?
  10. I'll probably just end up sending it to Mike at DVT, I trust he does good work. Lol, thats pretty cute. I'll bet you learned a valuable lesson though.
  11. You could give XPS fluorocarbon a try as well, it's on sale right now at BPS I think. It's also made by Seagar by the way. No matter what line you use, always use KVD's Line & Lure in conjunction with it. It will save you quite a few headaches.
  12. Don't be too hard on yourself, the reels are made to do work, not sit in a museum .
  13. Well here's an update. I cleaned out the old oil/grease available on the exterior parts and reoiled/greased the parts. I noticed the worm shaft was exceptionally dry, so once I relubed it, the reel worked a lot better, and is now a lot quieter. I'm still going to send the reel in for a complete breakdown before the year ends.
  14. Definitely the graphics card. I would HIGHLY recommend an ATI Radeon graphics card if you are in the market for one. Also, make sure you have plenty of memory. The amount of FPS you're getting is going to depend on what resolution you are running your games in.
  15. I've noticed for about the past week my bait caster has become very noisy now. It is a BPS Pro Qualifier. It's some sort of a scraping like sound, not necessarily a grinding sound. It's kind of hard to compare it to something, but I guess It would sound similar if you took two pieces of hard plastic and rubbed them together, sort of like a screeching plastic-like sound. The reel is only about 3 months old as well. I'm too afraid to take apart the reel, because I'm afraid parts will go flying everywhere. I have taken apart reels before though, so I guess If I absolutely had to, I could do it. The only thing I could figure is that dirt or something got inside of the reel. I did take the reel on a few saltwater trips, but I was very adamant about hosing both the rod and reel off immediately after getting them home. What could be the problem?
  16. Wow! That chaos color in particular is awesome looking. I see you brought out the REAL fireworks for this upcoming forth of July weekend .
  17. I use clip-ons, they help somewhat, but the bigger problem is light penetration. They just let in too much light and are unable to block out your peripherals.
  18. Not exactly, it just lubricates the line and allows it to release smoothly through the line guide. It will rub off over time, but 1 bottle of that stuff lasts a really long time. You apply it the first time and let it set 24hrs, in order to allow the product to first bond to your line. Then after that 1st time, you can use it whenever you feel it is necessary(if you notice you aren't casting as far, or your line feels dry). It doesn't leave any oiled residue on your line or reel either, it is water-based. I think you're thinking of a lubricant for internal parts or something. This product you just apply directly to the line. Yup, exactly.
  19. I own a 7' M carbonlite casting rod with the micro guides. I have been nothing but pleased with the rod. It does everything that I need it to. Having said that, no one's opinion on here should really factor in when you're comparing the two rods. The best way is to get both rods and see how they feel in YOUR hands. I swear I was deadset on a Shimano Crucial before even walking in to BPS. I then tried out the carbonlite, along with a slew of other rods (and believe me it was a TON) and for me, it was a better option. It just flat out felt like a better fit for me personally. Just give em both a try if at all possible, because if you don't give them both a fair try, you'll always be wondering if you made the correct decision.
  20. I use a RH one all the time, spooled with 12lb mono and bullet weighted for soft plastics. It's the reel that I learned to cast on, and moved up to a BPS PQ reel. Just remember to set the brake at about 6-7 and always adjust the tension knob for the proper weight you're throwing. Just don't try throwing super light stuff, because it is a little bit difficult. The thing that also made a big difference for me was the KVD L&L Conditioner, it's a huge help, especially for beginners. As stated in posts ahead of me, it's a good reel for the price, but doesn't compare to the other high end reels for sure.
  21. Ok, after some searching I was unable to find a spinning rod that would support about a 2oz swimbait. The only reason it has to be a spinning rod is because my brother absolutely hates casting gear. Anyone know of a decently sensitive rod that can handle such a task? He was also looking for one that can toss a heavy 6oz swimbait as well.
  22. Awesome, sounds like a blast! How was the water level at Okeechobee - still low?
  23. Problem around here isn't the mosquitoes, it's the gnats. The only thing I've found that works half decent for both is that Cutter Advanced spray stuff.
  24. I've heard that Zote soap is supposedly good for cats. It's the animal fat content that is in the soap that causes a reaction. There is some company that actually makes a catfish soap that is supposed to be a little more hook-friendly (latches rather than crumbles). I have heard that type of soap catches fish, but people generally use that type of bait on a trot line.
