  1. Fantastic detail. Nice job!
  2. Wow, you stole em! Awesome deal, good job.

  4. The pro qualifiers are very good reels. I like mine, but I just had a problem recently with the reel not functioning properly. Not a problem though, BPS fully supports and backs up their products, so no worry there. When I received my new reel, I noticed they changed a few things on the internal parts of the reel. It looked like they put in a different roller bearing to me. When the reel is functioning properly, it is a fantastic reel. If I had it to do all over again, I would definitely go with Quillback's advice on getting a Zillion. I have heard nothing but great things about those reels - and they look nice too .
  5. I just ended up taking the reel back to BPS to have it repaired. The reel tech that came around noticed there was an immediate problem as soon as he felt the reel. They replaced it on the spot. Great customer service. Thanks to everyone that tried to help, I appreciate it.
  6. I took out the bushing, still turning terribly rough when I tighten the screws or add compression to the face plate. I also took out the AR bearing and the bushing at the same time. The same thing was still happening, very hard to turn the crankshaft when any compression is added.
  7. I'll make sure to check over all of this, I'm sure it's something stupid. It would probably be easier if I just took a picture. No, it has rough turning when the side plate is on just turning the crankshaft itself. I should note that I did put carbontex drags in it, but this problem also occurred when I had the regular drags that came with the reel inside.
  8. Not sure what it is...thanks for trying to help. I just double-checked everything, it all appears to be in place. Again, when I went to tighten the screws, the crankshaft started to get very hard to turn again.
  9. Yes, I've removed the anti-reverse bearing and spun the roller bearings to make sure they spin right, all is fine there. I also checked over the other things you mentioned --no warning flags there. I never removed the crankshaft. Must be something we are all missing. Very puzzling..
  10. Do you mean when the reel is open? Or when the reel is closed and the access port to the pinion gear with the spool off? When I press on that with a screwdriver, it appears to bounce back --nothing abnormal that I can detect..
  11. Checked this, they are all in the correct place. It is definitely not upside down.
  12. Yes, it is still tight without the spool installed.
  13. I believe it is working properly. When I spin the roller bearings inside, they all seem to spin correctly. Also, it doesn't allow me to reverse spin--so I guess it's working? I guess if worse comes to worse, the reel is still under the one year warranty...
  14. If you mean the spool tension knob, yes.
  15. Ok, this is going to probably be hard to explain. I just got done properly cleaning the parts for my reel and was putting it back together. The parts are all in their proper place as far as I know. I can turn the craft shaft by hand with the right side cover off and it feels smooth as can be. As soon as I put the right side cover on, and add any compression (ie tightening the screws that pull down the cover), it makes the crank shaft very hard to turn. What is the cause of this problem? The reel is nice and smooth with the right face plate on, but not when I go to tighten the screws. Can someone help please? I'm puzzled at this point. The model number of the reel is PQX10HD.
  16. Not true, any topic I ran across about KVD, I was compelled to read!
  17. That's a really clever rig. I'll have to give that one a try with some 3/0 straight hooks I've got. Thanks for posting the rigging. Oh, and nice fish too!
  18. Seems like a lot of these areas are a good 2-1/2 hour drive away. What a bummer. What's the farthest north peacocks have been spotted?
  19. Say I wanted to catch my first peacock bass, how far would I have to travel to ensure that I do? I live in Lehigh Acres, which is about 25 mins from Labelle and 35ish mins. from Ft. Myers. How far would I have to travel to see peas? Is there possibly a canal holding some farther south of me? I have not seen any out where I live, I don't think it's hot enough for them to survive.
  20. Obviously there is a problem with them living here, or else the FWC wouldn't be so strict about it. I don't necessarily promote the killing of them for the fun of it, but if you want to eat or make good use of them, then fine. I can see your point also.
  21. Yea...whats with him catching all those big bass? It makes him look small.
  22. Thanks for the suggestions . I think my owner 4/0 EWGs will get the job done. Great looking craws, they've very unique...love the huge profile of them.
  23. Just had an order of a couple packages of these that came in yesterday from TW. I couldn't believe the profile of these baits...they are monster! They look really great with the my all terrain 1/2oz grassmaster jigs too. How many people just fish these things by themselves? If so, how do you fish them? What size hook do you use? Thanks.
  24. Booyah 1/2oz black/black w/clacker .
