  1. They pour great! Only caught a couple dinks on them so far though.
  2. I just keep cranking until I feel weight then lean into them, kind of like a crankbait hookset.
  3. Never had much luck with the DD22, but the 6XD is a different story.
  4. The Savage Gear 3D line thru is designed to stand up to pike and work great for bass too. 6, 8, and 12 inch sizes all out there now.
  5. Welcome from a fellow fisherman stuck in Kansas! Check out the KC area thread for good reports all around the state.
  6. I've been there 5 times this year and caught 3 bass. Already waved the white flag to that lake for the year.
  7. Back off the areas you were catching them to the first dropoff and I bet you'd find them.
  8. Put a couple hardwoods in areas that you've caught fish before, make sure it's okay/legal first though.
  9. Nothing beats that thump on a jig and going toe to toe with a big bass on a heavy setup in heavy cover.
  10. I'm in, PM on the way. This is always a good time. I got what is now one of my favorite swimbaits in the fishmas exchange a couple years ago.
  11. We had a 21.18lb 5 fish limit on jigs, bladed jigs, and sqarebills yesterday. Not lots of fish but great quality. The shot at big fish is why I like the fall. Our biggest fish was my biggest of the year so far at 5.89.
  12. Guys in the KC area thread post all the time when we have an empty seat. If you really want a disappointing trip that will make you thankful for the fishing in your home state, drive down here and someone will drag you out on one of our mudholes.
  13. No, just the jerkbaits and topwaters.
  14. I did the same with a 7-8 pound carp. Snagged it right under the chin with a Keitech on a jighead. I was positive I had a state record smallie.
  15. And we worry about leaving a little hole or hook in their mouth! Shad will take shelter under a boat if they're being chased, maybe he chased a school under a boat and got whacked. Or maybe he was hiding under a docked boat when it got fired up.
  16. Ice jigs and wax worms are killers on trout under the ice. We used to catch lots of trout and gills through the ice on that setup before I bought a boat and started fishing soft water all winter. If you go to Shawnee just fish the same baits as in the spring. I'd fish a Ned and see if you can find that 6lb 10oz smallmouth that Ned Kedhe caught and released out there a year or two ago.
  17. What weights are they recommended for?
  18. Here you go, 62 cranks, 4 spinnerbaits, and a buzzbait. All yours for $75.
  19. Warmer months for me, water temps over 65 I'd guess.
  20. When your buddies start calling you looking for baits instead of the tackle shops.
  21. I have more than $10 in hardware on them, plus all the time and effort retrieving them and cleaning them up.
  22. Never had a titanium leader fail either, pike or muskie. I have seen a snap on a titanium leader fail, but never the leader itself. They're metal so I'm sure they'll snap once bent enough times, but I haven't reached that point with any of mine.
  23. I'll try to get pictures if any of you really want to see them. It's a ton of baits of different makes and colors.
