I've found the swinging football head style jigs to be extremely snag resistant. I don't like how the line tie is so stuck out there on the structure jigs, seems like the knot would take a beating, especially around zebra mussels.

Any vegetation in the pond? Lots of the weeds are dying off here with the water temps dropping and when that starts happening the fishing is tough for awhile.

If you hate fishing in the wind never move to the midwest. Not many days I'm on the water that it's blowing less than 15mph. The flagpoles were bending and bouncing around today it was blowing so hard.

I'm going to have to figure out how to fish one of those dang things, never caught anything but a handful of white bass on them. Looks cold!!

Been staying close to home with my son having not even being a year old yet, trying to save money where we can. The local lakes aren't very good for anything of any size unfortunately. When he was born I went a month without fishing, that's the longest I've gone in a long time and it was rough!

Mine goes with me and does pretty well when she actually fishes, but she's far from "hooked".

I've had problems with the sideplate screws coming out of mine in the past but the one I have now hasn't had that problem yet.

Get a job in retail, you'll be so tired of Christmas music by Thanksgiving every year you'll wish it was illegal for them to play it on the radio.

Did they just stock them again or something? Didn't even know they did a fall stocking out there. I tore them up out there this spring, I'll have to get out there and chase them around a little this fall.

He's the most important part

I fish my jerks with an XF/M Avid. The faster tip makes it possible for me to make a bait dance and really move like I want it to. Same goes for poppers and small walking baits that are tough to work on other rods. I can make a small popper walk and spit at the same time with it, which is a big trigger at times.

I have a couple supertuned Curado 200B's that get an easy extra 10 yards after supertuning, if not more. Now almost every baitcaster I own is supertuned.

They're a good looking little hook. Haven't poured any yet but here's one side by side to a poured head with a Mustad hook.

Don't forget the plug! Don't worry, you'll still forget it at least once while you own it. I agree with the boater safety course as well. I had a few years of boat ownership under my belt when I took mine and it taught me a lot. If you haven't already, get your boat insured and make sure that it covers all the gear in your boat that isn't bolted down.

I hope it never happens to you but if you ever have a day that motor doesn't fire, you'll completely understand that quote. The outboard not starting is a fast way to ruin a much anticipated fishing trip and I've gotten to experience it way more than I'd like.

If the first bait I pick up is working well there may be no cycling through other baits.

I fish 3/8oz bladed jigs almost 100% of the time. Spinnerbaits I'll range from 1/4 to 3/4 depending on the situation.
