New tool, Pointer 65DD
Haven't used the DD but the standard 65 cast with no issues on 8lb mono and a 6' 8" M/MF spinning rod.

Custom painted lure blanks vs original??
I'm sure there's different quality of blanks out there. You can find some for extremely cheap and some that are quite a bit more expensive. I doubt you can buy a real deal blank for a lot of baits (like an actual MB 110 blank), they're likely only made and sold to the company or made and painted in the same factory.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
It's a "Little G". A local guy makes them and it looked like a good option for my crankbait eating and gizzard shad loving power plant bass.

Daiwa Tatula 100/150
I've got 2 150's and use them both for cranking.

In Search of...
Just saw a box with at least 2 for sale on Bass Baits Buy and Sell on Facebook. Looked like a red craw and firetiger maybe?

Tatula 150 vs 200 for small glides/swimbaits.
Another vote for the 200. I really like my 150's, but the 200's are better suited for what you're trying to do and is big enough that you can step up to even a bit larger baits in the future as well if you want. You're not going to be able to throw a 120 S waver on a swimbait rod anyways, it's more of a crankbait rod sized bait.

Chatterbait rod question
A rod with enough backbone to drive a big hook and move a big fish, but a good flex to keep them from tearing off and a nice tip to feel the vibration and those push bites. I also like a shorter rod because most of my cast are shorter around targets. My rod of choice is a 6' 9" H/F Hammer Micro

Wiggle Warts...help
I've been unfortunate enough to be in the back of the boat when the WW bite was on fire on Table Rock in a tournament. I was a teenager, didn't have a single one, might as well left my rods at the dock because all I was doing was netting fish. They are magic when someone who knows where and how to use them is on a good bite with them. I'm sure the old man I was paired with is long gone because he was grizzled and smoked like a chimney. I remember his name was Butch (he looked like a Butch), and he didn't talk so much as he growled. I don't remember how much he won by that day but it wasn't even close.

6th Sense
A suspending lipless bait? That's the silliest thing I've ever heard. Who would ever use such a oxymoron of a bait.

Custom painted lure blanks vs original??
There's some differences for sure. A 110 KO blank does not perform like a MB 110. Not to say they don't work. A friend of mine paints them and I've had a couple that have caught me hundreds of fish. He also does wiggle wart blanks and since they came out with a one knocker blank, that's what I fish most of the time I fish a wart and they work excellent. Small differences effect the way they move during the retrieve and at rest, their sound, paint schemes effect their reflective abilities and even their balance if they have too much or too little paint. Good painters can make a good blank into a good bait, but don't expect it to be like the real thing.

Latest Catch Pics Thread
No shame in it. I still do it a few times every year and will probably do it more with 2 young boys wanting to go with me more and more.

Smallmouth at ice out...
Our smallmouth start up much slower than the largemouth. It's the LMB here that are ready to go as soon as the ice is gone. Smallmouth don't become dependable until the water temps hit the mid to high 40's.

Hair jigs
I looked at the Feider's today, $10 for 2 is steep. I haven't had much luck with hair jigs

Heading to Arkansas with a couple of hours to kill
My wife just told me a couple days ago that we have to take our boys to one of the rivers this year ?♂️ Twist my arm I guess.

In Search of...
No I haven't ever used one. It seems like whenever I find them it's always the yellowish/olive one with the spots. They kind of look like a wiggle wart when I first see them until I see the popeyes.

In Search of...
I find them fairly often but I don't think I have any right now.

Walmart Scissors
Probably me, those are my favorites if I can find them. I have a pair in the boat, kayak crate, and go bag.
-
Walmart Scissors
Stop in the home goods and get a pair of kitchen shears for like $.87 instead. Mine are probably 3 years old and they cut any kind of line, packaging, bait, whatever I need, and when I break them or drop then in the water, I buy a new pair ?♂️

Favorite Spinnerbait Brand / Series ?
I got to think whoever wrote that hasn't fished many Booyah spinnerbaits. They've got lots of baits that put out lots of vibration. I'd guess maybe they only fished willowleaf bladed baits that offer less vibration by design. Their double Colorado and tandem Colorado/Indian tux and tails spinnerbaits were my favorite baits for a couple years because their vibration calls in fish in the stained water I fish. So yeah, I'm a fan of Booyah and War Eagle. I've also picked up a few Nichols lately and been really happy with them. One I tried that I was extremely disappointed with was an Omega Genesis TI. They looked great on TW and I know them to offer quality jigs, but I'd rather have a BPS Enticer spinnerbait than that thing.

Glad the weather really decided to take a dump right when this little guy showed up so I won't get to use it for a while ?
