  1. It's a serious question to ask yourself. First expensive bait I cast off was a Donut Shad, felt like I got punched in the stomach, but I knew when I bought it that it was a chance I was taking.
  2. It's up to you to decide if it's worth it. I enjoy using them even though I don't have a lot of success with them. If you're afraid to lose a 50-100 dollar bait, don't get into them.
  3. Seaguar Tatsu Seaguar AbrasX Gamma Edge Worst is Vanish
  4. Busy lakes. I go to try and get away from the crowds, so I don't want to be on a busy lake if I can avoid it.
  5. I haven't had an issue with the shad raps, but the DTs break like glass for me and so far it seems the OG Slims are on the same plane.
  6. X2 on the Avengers. Get a 30 size for the catfishing you're going to do. I use 2 of them for channel cats and they've been great for several years. I even handled a 40lb flathead with one last summer.
  7. They're good but they're fragile. I picked up a couple of these and fished them Saturday. Caught a 5 pounder, then got it snagged and the bait blew up when I pulled it loose with my lure retriever. One of these days I will learn my lesson about buying Rapala baits ?‍♂️
  8. chartreuse sexy shad. My favorite is Bone or French Pearl.
  9. Brown craw colors with a bright blue trailer.
  10. Check your water temps with a digital thermometer for aquariums. I bet your water is still in the 50s with those air temps, high 40s at worst. Your bass are probably more active than you're thinking and possibly why they're ignoring the slow moving baits.
  11. Suspending jerkbaits until the water temps get above about 65 for me.
  12. 4 fish last Saturday. 1 was 7.22lbs and 1 was 5.09lbs. I'm all about the grind.
  13. I've caught one, just not in Kansas. I do know 2 guys that have caught a DD in Kansas and I fish the lake often that those fish came from, so I've got a chance.
  14. Their Provoke 106 jerkbait has been one of my favorites for a couple years now. I love the color options and the price is reasonable. The Catwalk was excellent last year for me. The suspending quake and Thud rattle baits are sweet. The Axis is a really unique bait that I think I'm going to find the perfect use for and it's really going to be deadly. The 75 flat is one of the best plastic flat side baits out there imo.
  15. I promise you're not the only one that thinks that.
  16. It's my favorite thing to do and it isn't even close. I voluntarily go out and subject myself to conditions that most consider dangerous to be in, for hours on end trying to catch a fish I'm just going to turn loose anyways.
  17. RIP O.N. Sad news but at least his suffering is over. I wish I could have half the positivity of that man in my mind.
  18. I fish them on anything from 10-20 and I believe I've heard KVD himself mention fishing them as high as 25 in heavy cover or to make them run shallower.
  19. Welcome!
  20. I've got an Old Town Sportsman 120PDL. It's a very stable boat that I can stand in easily. If you got the regular model I think you'd be good.
