  1. It doesn't hurt anything to use it. Can't say for sure that it helps, but for free you might as well give it a shot.
  2. Sold, sending PM Copper blades are way underutilized and a big part of why I started making my own spinnerbaits.
  3. Sure, it's a great way to cover water quickly. Some places just don't have room for a long cast. When shad get up in the creeks and rivers on the lakes here, a long cast just isn't possible, so pitching and short sidearm cast are the way to go.
  4. They're a cool crawler bait. Either size works. They do not do well in much surface chop, so a calm day is best. I've done best with the black and grey colors.
  5. I second the hawgtail, but on a T-rig for me. A very solid producer for me for years. They use to make a wooly beavertail, like a ribbed beaver style bait. That thing was a killer bait but they stopped making it and it disappeared overnight on me.
  6. I tried the baby on a Ned rig. Takes a heavier head to activate the tails. I think the Billy Goat would be the bait you'd want for what you're trying to do. Would be like a finesse buzz toad more than a buzzbait.
  7. Yeah, it happens. I fished a tournament once where my buddy and I struggled for 3 days, saw 3 bass in those 3 days. I broke off a 3.5lber early the day of tournament (thanks Vanish). I honestly felt like that fish could have gotten us some money as tough as it was. The winners had 26 and change and said they were constantly shaking fish off during prefishing and had to cull through a bunch of 4's to get their fish they brought in ?‍♂️ We saw them several times during prefishing too.
  8. Most are just standing there and talking all kinds of stuff they'd never say if the door wasn't between us, but yeah. I get paid pretty well for it too so that's my incentive.
  9. Keep it. I had a spare Maxxum and I took it with us on a trip several years ago. I had the exact same model on my boat, this was just the old one I'd pulled off when I bought the new one. We were fishing the White River in Arkansas and I hit something hard with the prop apparently and broke the whole armature shaft. I really doubt I'd have been able to find a replacement in the 3 days we had left to fish. Instead we broke out some tools and were back fishing in about a hour.
  10. They're one of my main wintertime presentations. They'll work with almost any kind of plastic body. I've used every type of plastic I can think of and the only one that didn't work was a tube. I believe the poison swing head was made just for rigging swimbaits to have the big fish chasing a littler fish look.
  11. I've fallen for the LiveTarget trap too many times. They look so nice and realistic, but they fish don't agree. I'm sure some of their baits catch fish, but I've owned several of their baits and I can't remember a single fish I caught with one.
  12. I try new baits but stick mostly to the same productive colors.
  13. Prerigging a night or two before a trip is part of the excitement in going!
  14. It's a solid, but not particularly spectacular color for me. Kind of a reddish/brownish color. I have confidence in it, but I'd rather fish plain green pumpkin or other colors instead.
  15. Water temps dropped a lot of me this week. Most of what I saw was 38-42 with a few warm spots to 44. It was a grind. Only managed 5 bass, but they added up to just .09lbs less than my winning 5 fish bag the previous week so I had that going for me. I did that while also taking time out to walk some bank looking for baits and going and fishing the hot water to see if I could catch any of those "other", fish. I marked off a buffalo, common carp, drum, channel cat, and 2 flathead on the jigging spoon. Biggest bass was just shy of 5.5lbs on the Flicker Shad Shallow.
  16. Guys knowingly breaking the law is how we as a whole get more, restrictive laws. Can't stop fishing tournaments during that time of year? Fine, no more bass fishing during those months at all.
  17. Not many teams going to beat anyone losing the turnover battle 4-0, especially when they're mostly deep inside their own territory. Sad way for Brees to out, but the way he's looked a lot of this year, it's time for him to hang it up.
  18. Is it a real MB 110 or a different company/KO? One of the few MB 110s I own I found under an undercut bank. I found a Boomerang tool a few weeks ago too but it was too far gone to save. I walked yesterday and found mostly older and cheaper baits but also found 2 whopper ploppers. I gave them away to a guy that asked me what I had been walking around for who said he never had been able to spend the money on a plopper.
  19. Worked well for the 49ers last year. Game wasn't really ever in question.
  20. If history has shown us anything, Lamar's nerves are shot anticipating the game too. Think it's going to be a pretty comfortable win for the Bills.
  21. I have not used an SLX, or any Shimano baitcaster since the Curado I, but the Fuego CT is a great reel. I can cast them plenty far, rarely get any kind of backlash, and never have to mess with the brakes unless I really want to fine tune it to a certain bait.
  22. Chiefs will likely be without CEH, Sammy Watkins, and Willie Gay, all 3 major pieces. Meanwhile, Browns are getting back both starting CBs, and important pieces of the Oline. Not a chance they cover that spread even if they do manage to win.
  23. Maxwell house breakfast blend with a little bit of creamer.
