Post a photo a day!
How cold has it been? This is the ramp of one of the power plant lakes I fish. The outlet is directly across the lake where the steam is rising.

Winter 2020-2021
Made it into the 20's today, felt great ?

Sturgeon Bay ice rescue
We lost an angler last week who tried to ice fish just days after the lakes iced over. It sounds a little fun, and I've got the equipment from my pre-boat owner days, but that stuff keeps me away.

Favorite country song/songs
Can't pick a favorite, but I really like this one, and all of his songs, and it feels so appropriate right now.

Custom painted lure blanks vs original??
It really is hit or miss. I've had quite a few of different KO baits. Best advice, buy someone who does it a lot because if they were selling baits that didn't work, they wouldn't be able to continue selling them.

Tipping or Threading
Tip pork, thread plastic.

Free shipping - cost me.
Who goes to the tackle store or online tackle shopping and only spends $50?? I just try not to collect too many of the free T-shirts or my wife starts to notice.

What to expect after draw down?
It will but not immediately, especially the big fish. The water needs to stabilize for the fish to spawn. Egg laying and nest guarding is a hugely physically tasking event for the fish and if conditions aren't right, they won't go through the process, the female will simple absorb the eggs back into her body and try again next go around.

New St Croix rod
Excited to see these in person. The Avids were nice, but with all the technique specific style rods anymore, this was long overdue. Makes me glad I've held off on adding any new rods to the lineup like I've been thinking about doing.

Owning Multiple High Gear Ratio Reels
I've got several 8.1-9.1 ratio reels that I use for baits like bottom contact baits (t rig/jigs), pitching, frogging, and buzzbaits.

Clicking sound from baitcast reel - play in spool bearing
Is your tension setting really loose? That can cause side to side spool play which might cause the sound you're hearing when you shake the reel. Not sure about during the retrieve though.

Swapping out trebles
I don't know about the hookup ratio being similar with fish like bass that have a tendency to slap or nip at baits. A lot of inline single hooks are used in saltwater where fish typically engulf or T-bone their prey. Not saying it isn't possible, but I'm skeptical to say the least.

New tool, Pointer 65DD
Maybe 50-60 feet if I'm really trying to get it out there? I'm not usually trying to get the longest cast possible but it cast pretty well for a small bait.

Snap swivel or direct tie on glide baits?
I use a Decoy Egg Snap on most of glide baits. I believe they're a #4.

best place to buy bulk trebles
Captain Hook's only has 2 styles of Gamakatsu trebles available in 2 and 3 sizes. If you happen to like those styles in those sizes though, you can get them for great prices.

How big is my Small Mouth bass?
Really hard to guess with nothing more to scale than a 2.5" 3/8oz topwater. I would guess somewhere in the 18.5-19 inch range and 3.5-4 pounds.

Recycling Line?
We have recycling dropoffs at many lakes here. Unfortunately, people choose to shove all kinds of trash in them too but it's nice that they're trying.

Buy tackle
I think with TW if you aren't signed in, it doesn't save nearly as long. I buy most of mine from TW or Ebay.

What to expect after draw down?
Fishing during a draw down is almost always tough in my experience. Fish pull off the banks and don't move around much as they get use to the new water level and wait for things to stabilize.

In Search of...
They're in a lot that I doubt the seller will split but it's quite a few baits for a decent price. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1520337194915514/permalink/2972346336381252/?sale_post_id=2972346336381252
