  1. The smaller size YUM Pulse swimbait is great. I can literally watch my line "pulsing" from the tail thumping while the bait is sinking when it's calm out, a lot of times it will be interrupted by a sharp "jump" on the way down though I fish them on one of my 1/8oz heads from the Midwest Finesse mold with a 1/0 hook.
  2. I'm not sure what the cutoff is, but I know that they can detect in some form, the vibrations from trolling motor, as well as the pinging of depth finders. It doesn't always turn them off or scare them away, but they certainly can sense them. That's why most big bass specialist will go without electronics and some will even anchor instead of running a trolling motor, or make long cast at the very least.
  3. A trick worm on a lightly weighted T-rig would be a good option.
  4. A dark colored bladed jig, spinnerbait with big Colorado bladed spinnerbait, dark colored jig, or a bulky, dark colored plastic. If the weeds are close to the surface, a buzzbait can be good, if they're on the surface, I wouldn't be shy about fishing a frog.
  5. I'll be there next month, I'll keep my eyes open.
  6. thirteen omen black envy nope, not that I'm aware of and the words aren't censored.
  7. Top one is Lime-purple passion, haven't seen it anywhere for a couple years.
  8. Anybody want to play some baseball?
  9. Depends if you're trying to fish over, through, or around it.
  10. Depends a lot on the bait. Usually it's not very long, but I'll fish a bait very slowly. I probably let topwaters sit the longest before moving them and have had untold numbers of fish hit them the instant they moved. My largest swimbait fish to date was on a Slammer that sat for well over a minute and she crushed it the instant I twitched it.
  11. Those colors were discontinued at least 2 years ago. Those colors were discontinued at least 2 years ago.
  12. Our rainfall totals overnight.
  13. A box of classics that made a detour to our old house. Thankfully, the new owners are honest enough to try to find out who they belonged to and they eventually made it to me.
  14. This is what usually happens to me. I caught the Havoc Pitboss colors I like right when they were discontinued. I've gone through several packs, but I still have a couple to keep me going for a minute or two.
  15. Last tornado I saw, I was working at Cabela's in KC. Me and couple buddies went outside and watched it roll up the next road north of the store, destroying homes and trees along the way. The one before that, I was fishing a tournament at Cedar Bluff in western KS, staying in a rented double wide with a bunch of other guys. I guess the whole trailer was shaking so bad they thought we were done for, I don't know, I slept through the whole thing ? Had one roll through our yard about a month ago, but it was just a little F-0 tornado. It picked my kayak up off the trailer and tossed it a little ways and completely destroyed a bale of straw and scattered it around the yard, twisted up some tall grass a little bit, but that was it.
  16. Mass produced items, bound to have a bad one eventually. I've used the stuff on several reels from 10 to 50 pound test and haven't had any of those issues. It's weird because that line looks flat, reminds me a lot of the Sufix NanoBraid in Aqua Camo I have on my dropshot rod.
  17. We're going to ignore the jawline extending well past the eye? It's clearly a largemouth, I catch largemouth with those darker and lighter scale patterns on their belly scales all the time. No spots in the lakes I'm catching them out of. The dorsal can be connected with largemouth as well. This is a fish from last Thursday. No spots in the lake. Has what appears to be rows of spots on it's belly and the dorsal is clearly connected somewhat, but it's 100% largemouth.
  18. Going to need a big boat to get on a lot of those big smallmouth waters up north.
  19. His skin looked like an old baseball glove, I guess it was probably a little late for skin protection for him
  20. I struggle with a dropshot, I've been using it a lot this spring, forcing myself to learn it. There's always popular things that don't work for everyone that don't work for others.
  21. I wear sun shirts and gloves along with a hat and neck/head protection. I saw a picture of a guy today in shorts, no shirt, but with sun gloves and a buff on. Couldn't really understand the point.
  22. Nope, not allowed to walk the banks of the lake most of mine are lost on.
  23. I've caught way too many fish on them to not carry a bunch. They're one of my go to baits gor guide trips too because they're so simple to fish, just hurts everytime someone loses one. So far the record is 3 ploppers in 1 day lost by the same client.
