  1. Did the snakehead have the hook in it too or is that just for scale?
  2. Nothing to it but to do it. I spent most of a summer with nothing but a jig many years ago and forced myself to learn it. It's my favorite way to catch them now.
  3. It's a propane tank to heat the house. That's pretty distance for them. It's not really that far, 15-20 yards maybe, just how the phone makes it look. The treeline is only about 300 yards even though it looks like a mile or two in the picture.
  4. It was here last night and still is this morning. The party is supposed to keep rocking through Wednesday too.
  5. Assuming you're talking about the grey Smackdown. I have some 10lb on my Ned rig rod and really like it. It's very thin and cast a mile. Haven't had any wind knots with it and it ties to the leader easily.
  6. Brent Chapman-Lake Quivira,KS Denny and Chad Brauer-Camdenton, MO Chad Grigsby-Maple Grove, MN Casey Scanlon-Lenexa, KS
  7. We had a little storm roll through tonight.
  8. Lots of threads on here about how good both those rods are. I own some of both and they really are great buys. I'm assuming by "Havoc Line" you mean the line of soft plastics? They're very popular but a lot of the good ones and good colors have gone away or been moved to the Powerbait line and cost a dollar or two more a pack now.
  9. Like WRB said, you're pushing a big rock up a steep hill trying to start a jig business, especially by just offering standard offerings. Check Barlow's Tackle, they list on a lot of their molds the different hooks that will fit each mold. It's not hard to modify a mold to fit a different hook eye in most cases. I personally don't like Trokar hooks at all, by far my least favorite premium hook.
  10. I use the cheap luggage scale also. They're crazy accurate and very consistent from unit to unit. I've got about half a dozen scattered all over the place since they're only $5 apiece. I also add the fish grippers to the small hook and wrap it with electric tape to keep it in place.
  11. Some big redears! Those are neat fish. Do they stink really bad when you fillet them? I've used them for cutbait before and every time they've smelled terrible like skunk weed (chara weed), inside.
  12. MMMMM, gar tacos ? I've heard they're great eating, but the guy telling me how to clean them started talking about getting a bandsaw involved and I checked out of the conversation.
  13. If you're getting 5 fish per bait with a Keitech you're doing pretty good.
  14. Not being a jerk at all. It may sound like a serious DUH! statement, but you can't catch them where they don't live. I have local guys ask me how I catch big fish as I'm fishing known big fish lakes, while they never leave the lakes that have very few bigger fish. I think a lot of these suggestions are good, but you're not shooting for an overly large fish here (no offense). If I needed to pick 2 baits that I was going to fish all summer to catch a 4lb bass, I'd be fishing a bladed jig and a flipping jig. Fish them around high percentage areas (points, boat ramps, docks near drop offs, weedlines), you'll run into her eventually.
  15. I flip it by hand, it's easier on the reel if nothing else.
  16. Thank you sir! It looks like a bait with a lot of potential from the video I watched.

Seen on Bass Blaster and really liked the action, but no name and have had no luck finding it or where to get one. Anyone have any ideas what it is or who makes it? Kind of works like a spybait, but with a lot more vibration.
  18. You should see some of the commercials I see on my lunch breaks at 0200-0400 ? If my kids were in the same room, I'd be scrambling to change the channel before I had to explain what local singles want to talk about.
  19. One for my fellow LEO members, or Star Wars nerds, or both.
  20. I've got a buddy that doesn't fish baby bass patterns because he doesn't want to encourage bass to eat other bass ?
  21. Caught some good ones in the muddy water this week.
  22. Water is rising, head to the bushes!
