Sizzler
GC is consistently good. Food is keep fresh and stocked and a large selection of food with a pretty fair price. I haven't seen a Sizzler in a long time, but I remember going to them when I was younger and it was very hit miss the quality of food you'd get.

SCARING THE H*** OUT OF ME, OK and KS
More than just rain rolling through tonight, a nearly mile wide tornado caused widespread destruction across NE Kansas, narrowly missed by my parents house by less than 2 miles and was headed straight towards my Father-in-law's house before it suddenly lifted.

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
Missed my parents house by about 2 miles. Guy I went to school with posted a video of FB, his parents house is destroyed. One of the guys in our weeknight group can't get to his house to see if there was any damage. It was sunny at our house, didn't even rain. Picture of the rain wrapped monster from the local news.

The power of a tornado is unreal.

They're much louder. The Morning Dawn (Hippy Rat as I like to call it), is a killer color. Picked up an 8" Bull Shad in Bone color this morning. Hoping it will be a big player this fall when they start woofing the big gizzard shad.

I agree it looks like a XPS bait.

Durable curlytail grub? Dang bluegill keep nipping tail off mine
Zman actually makes a few different sizes and versions of a grub. I have several bags, they're very durable just like the rest of their baits.

I was 2oz short of the state record (by my scale), with one I caught at Gardner a few years ago doing the same thing. Flipping grass seems to be the ticket to catch monster warmouth.

Do any of you use baitcasters for T.R.D neds?
I think the OP has got the answer he needed now that we've all very thoroughly derailed his topic. LOCKDOWN!!

Just the lottery whenever she buys a ticket. I've never met someone who wins so many drawings and contest. She won tickets to Nascar truck series a week or two ago but we didn't get to go. Aftermath of the tornado in Golden City, MO.

Carrot Stix are back
The rods were pretty nice, but they snapped like literal carrot sticks. If you were lucky enough to get one of the few that didn't break, they were light and sensitive.

All these pros making a living out there, wanting every advantage they can get to help them earn every dollar, yet they choose spinning gear over BFS for finesse presentations. I'm sure there's a couple that use them, but your guys at the top of the list? aren't. I have a BFS combo, it's fun to play around with. I fish an 1/8oz jig with it and it'll cast it out there pretty good. It's a very capable setup, but it's not as good of a tool for the job as my spinning gear is. It's not so much the "shoe to hammer a nail" analogy because it is designed for finesse applications and not like spinning gear is in a whole different league. It's more of, I have a socket wrench, or a regular wrench. Both will get the job done, but one does it a little better than the other. Someone who is practiced and proficient with a BFS combo can probably do some pretty impressive things with them and probably be more efficient than a lot of folks are with a spinning combo.

Bass weight?
4-4.5, skinny postspawn female most likely.

Bandit Crankbaits for targeting Smallies?
The Spring Craw color 200 and 100 series Bandit has caught a lot of smallmouth for me. I've caught tons of largemouth on them, and for some reason the walleye here really like them too.

Because it's the better tool for some techniques, just like spinning gear is the better one for other techniques like Ned rigs ?

My wife won Royal's tickets at work, so we took our boys to their first game. They were pretty decent tickets..

Friend of mine lives in Carl Junction. I messaged him right after I heard. He said it was about a mile away so they got to watch as it tore the town apart. More raining coming our way this week. I was a couple days after the high water mark, but this is the Marias De Cygnes river by my house at the 8th St bridge in Osawatomie, KS. Currently What it's supposed to look like

Other Species Latest Catch Pics Thread
Catching a little bit of everything this last week in the high water. The crappie and walleye pictures aren't great, my buddy had them out of the livewell and filleted before I knew what happened. We kept 5 crappie 12.5-13.5 inches and 1 19.5" walleye for his family to have for dinner, which I'm guessing from the thank you texts I was getting they thoroughly enjoyed. Biggest bite I've ever had flipping flooded grass. Got a good video of it coming too. Heavy rod, braid, and short line made it interesting. Caught 2 of these guys, both big like this one. Managed to get a Rage bug and 5/0 straight shank hook in his mouth. I'm going to screw around and break the state record one of these days.

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
According to the COE website, Smithville is only about 6.5' high. I don't know anything about Smithville, but that seems pretty minor to close the lake. The rumors about closing Perry for the year are just rumors at this point, but we need it to stop raining so they can do some major releasing to get it back to where it needs to be. Had a very mixed bag this week. In 2 days I caught largemouth, smallmouth, spotted bass, walleye, crappie, channel cat, drum, warmouth, and white bass. Got off the water Friday just as the holiday shenanigans started to fire up.

Carrot Stix are back
I had one that I liked a lot, and then it exploded on the cast one day. After some searching, I found out it was a very common happening and I decided to just eat my loss and buy a different rod. So when I hear they're being reintroduced;

Denny Brauer fishing
I believe he won his Classic in '98 primarily flipping a tube. I had the pleasure of meeting him when I worked at Cabela's. He's always been one of my favorites and I really enjoyed talking to him. I've heard he can be a little short with folks but wasn't the case when I talked to him. He's also a very skilled squarebill fisherman and most any other shallow water technique.
