  1. Won a few swimbaits in a raffle this week. Got my first one in the mail today, a WSB rat. Wow is it a big bait! Next to a 7", 3oz Deps 175 for scale. Hope to get it wet soon to see if I can find any big mommas putting on the fall feed bag.
  2. Optimum Baby Line Thru is a great option that's not too expensive and pretty durable. Comes in a variety of sizes but you'll probably be best suited with a 4 or 5 inch version.
  3. White bass will hit about anything when they're feeding. I haven't caught a bunch on them but I don't usually fish them in areas where there are lots of them. If I do get into them, I'm moving instead of dealing with catching them most of the time. They're a pain to deal with, especially on treble hooks.
  4. I use a Hammer Rods 6' 9" H/F Micro guide rod. It's been excellent for them and I fish them a ton.
  5. Sellers market is making it tough on buyers. We sold our last house for 35k more than we'd paid for it 2 years prior with no major upgrades. It was on the market for less than a day before we got offered 5k more than our asking price by someone who hadn't even seen the house yet, it was nuts. Lots of patience and a willingness to move fast when the right house pops up seems to be key right now.
  6. Impossible to tell from that picture angle and nobody will ever know for sure since it never touched a scale
  7. I haven't fished one of their newer ones but I have yet to be let down by one of their reels.
  8. I'm not exactly sure. It's a very hard material and seems like it should be pretty durable. This was my first order from them and I wasn't disappointed. Already eyeing a couple other for baits. I haven't tried the sinker molds.
  9. Trick worm for extra length and weight.
  10. Nah, I was on here before blue boat was a twinkle in the BA's eye.
  11. That's what I have been doing, but a Fat Swing Impact just isn't the same with a flat top. Plus, the mold was only $31.50. I have a 3.8" open pour that works well for making trailers though.
  12. There's baits in colors they call penguin, but no actual penguin imitations yet
  13. They're coming from Ukraine, takes all of the 2-4 weeks it says it takes for them to get here, but they're nice molds for not being aluminum and way cheaper. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Soft-Plastic-Lure-Bait-DIY-Mold-Swing-Impact-FAT-Soft-Lure-Swimbait-Shad-Worm/192112218946?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&var=492016153193&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 As for the color, that's just a mix of green pumpkinish/watermelony used plastics I have saved in a 5 gallon bucket. I melt a bunch together and whatever color they end up is the color I use. I've got a bucket of black and blue and similar colors, and another of baitfish colors. Most everything ends up green pumpkin hued though.
  14. Passenger seat of my truck.
  15. I fish them with a jerk, jerk, pause cadence most of the time. I use several different baits but the Lucky Craft Slender pointer and flash pointer have been really good to me. Also do well with 78 pointer, Berkley Skinny Cutter 110+, Luck-E-Strike STX, and some custom painted Predator 110's.
  16. Got a picture? There's a few Slammerish type baits out there that fit the description.
  17. I've been melting old plastics down and using open pour molds to make some of my own plastics but decided to get a couple molds and try the injection style since the baits look a little nicer. Went with the Pitboss and 6.8 Fat Impact molds and they both turned out pretty good for my first tries I think.
  18. There's already possum baits out there.
  19. It's hard to tell from the bad picture, but that is a drum's mug with only the blade of my 3/8oz bladed jig and 5" swimbait trailer, still visible. It was a chore to remove.
  20. Cut the legs down so they're only about an inch long, it will make walking them much easier.
  21. Fish the duck just like a whopper plopper. The rat I just fish like any other rat/wake bait, cast it out and reel it in slow.
  22. Redbug is a great color in stained water for me. A redbug Zoom Mag Finesse worm on a shakyhead is one of my baits I always have tied on during the winter time.
  23. Smallmouth are tough customers in dirty water, I'd be on the lake fishing shallow cover for green fish.
