Ned Rig not floating?
Never even bothered to check. Apparently our fish didn't know it makes a difference either

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
I keep meaning to get some 1/8oz Cavitrons and never seem to remember. I bet they're a sweet little bait.

Frogging w/o Braid?
It's about being able to cut through weeds and/or drag large amounts of grass to me, not line stretch. I use Big Game for a lot of stuff so I know how strong it is (as well as using it for a lot of things I'm not "supposed" to because of line stretch), but it just doesn't haul fish out of weeds like braid does.

Frogging w/o Braid?
I use braid for everything you listed. I'd have a lot more line management issues with a heavy mono or copoly than I do with braid. 50lb isn't even really heavy braid, it's more the standard size. If you're not fishing really heavy stuff you could do as others suggested and try dropping down to 30 or 40 and see if that helps.

**The Official 2017 Ice-Out Thread**
Watching the pond in front of work freeze back over again tonight after being thawed since February.

Am I normal?
It sounds like you're just in the early stages Wait until you have other avid fishermen telling you that you fish too much.

It Happened Last Night
We had frogs croaking last week. This week it hasn't made it above freezing, it's snowed 2 days, had freezing rain one day, and now it's in the low teens and the pond outside work is freezing back over as I'm typing this.

Spinning Reel / Braid with Leader
I just try to keep it reasonable. You're not going to want anything too heavy because the knot won't go through the guides well.

Spinning Reel / Braid with Leader
I use mainly 10lb braid on my spinning reels. It handles excellent and is stronger than the rated 10 pounds. I've gone to almost all braid on my spinning reels after years of hating braid. I have green, pink, and white braids on my rods and see no difference in number of bites, just visibility for me.

Ned Rig!!! (Update)
I fish it in water with less than a foot of visibility with a lot of success. Purple Haze, coppertruese, black and blue, and junebug are my best colors for those conditions.

Helios reel arrived today.
I have a couple Helios. That green one and then I also have the blue TCS. They're super nice reels, especially for what I paid for them.

Light FC
Highly suggest checking out the new Finesse Fluoro from Seaguar. I've been using some 5.2lb on my trout/light bass rod and it's been great.

Shakey-head leader when using braid
10lb braid is so thin I have a hard time even seeing it when I'm looking for it. I've gone to straight 10lb braid and it's worked great with no retying leaders and no hookset breakoffs.

Rapala Scatter Rap.......Revisit
They're great if you can fish them over the top of submerged vegetation. It's proven to be more of an open water style bait for me than a standard crankbait that I'd be banging into the cover.

Trailer or Trailer Hook?
I always use a trailer hook if I'm fishing a trailer. I'll use a trailer hook by itself occasionally, especially if I'm fishing where I might run into spots or smallmouth.

Jig Advice
It's more of a flipping jig than anything but they work well for casting as well. Little hops or just dragging it on the bottom works in more open areas.

Other Species Latest Catch Pics Thread
It was in the 10-12 pound range, on an ultralight with 4lb test, it was a pretty drawn out fight. I'd just got done working all night, stopped to make a few cast on the way home to help unwind.

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
I have a pair of 93's. They're great and the large screen makes them very easy to read. I really don't think you'd have any issue reading the 73's even on split screen though. It seems to me that the Garmin screens are bigger than most, but maybe it's just because the screen is almost the entire face of the unit that makes them seem larger. I don't think you'd be disappointed with either of them.
