Flipping from a kayak
I pitch and flip from my kayak no problem, just more arm angle than in a boat.

After two seasons of searching I finally found this offshore cover .
A couple lakes I fish have pallet stacks in them. They never seem to hold fish.

Latest Catch Pics Thread
Fished a creek from the kayak Saturday. Started my morning with one of my more surprising catches I've had, a drum on a buzzbait. It was a good while before I got a good bite, Ol' One Eye mushed up on a homemade flipping jig in a laydown and just sat there chewing on it. My plan had been to go way to the back of this creek but a huge tree had fallen down across the creek. On my way back through where I caught the first good one and got an even better one on a baby brush hog.

Latest Catch Pics Thread
Got out with the new FishLab baits a couple times, a hour after work last night and 45 minutes before work this morning. Took the nymph to a creek where I thought it would shine. It got the bites but the fish were so small they could barely get the hook. This morning I tried the lake by my house and got one on the nymph, 1 on the cranking shad, and 1 on the rat.

Plastic Hellgrammites
I think the smaller version of this new bait from FishLab will be a pretty good imitation.

Ned rigs only catch small fish
Mainly by using too heavy of weight and too large of hook. The slow fall and natural look of the Ned is a big part of the appeal. Take that away and it's much less appealing and natural looking, which I believe is what fools most bigger fish. It looks like such an easy meal that they can't help themselves.

One Knocker vs. Standard Rattle Hardbaits ?
I find myself typically reaching for knocker style baits over standard rattling baits if I have the option. They seem to be more productive to me, but I haven't kept any numbers or done anything to prove that. I do know I fish them with more confidence that I'm going to catch something, and that does have a big impact on their effectiveness.

I know a guy who knows a guy
The last couple years or so should be a pretty good example of why someone would want extra on hand. I've bought very little fishing gear this year while everything has been tough to get, like I couldn't tell you the last time I bought something other than a pack of weights or hooks, because I had so much squirrelled away.

Current "best" Daiwa Swimbait Reel?
I have a Curado 300E and Tatula 300. I prefer the Tatula by a pretty good bit. I've taken good care of the Curado and it's still a workhorse with lots of life left in it, but the Tatula is such a sweet reel. It outcast it, it's smoother and more connected feeling, just feels better all around.

Ned rigs only catch small fish
I'd bet that close to 50% of my fish on my final score (biggest 5 for the day), in my kayak tournaments are taken on Ned rigs. My biggest 5 fish limit I've had in a kayak tournament (94"), 3 or 4 of them were on a Ned rig. I've caught flathead catfish over 20lbs on them. I think a lot of it is location and also people present them in a way that appeals more to little fish. I catch so many quality fish on them that it's hard for me to use another bait at times. My biggest Ned rig catch to date;

Anyone into pike/muskie fishing?
I love fishing for muskie. Unfortunately, there are none in my state and the closest to me are about a 3 hour drive so I rarely get to fish for them.

War Eagle "Screamin' Eagle Spinnerbait" Users ?
Screaming Eagle is a must have smallmouth and spotted bass spinnerbait IMO. I burn it for the most part but occasionally killing it for just a second before burning it again, especially around vertical cover like dock post, ladders, or timber, can really get them going.

Pick Up Trucks
I look like a homeless person for a few days on tournament weekends.

Vehicle Gas Mileage
When I lived down south there was 2 gas station options. There was a noticeable difference in my gas mileage if I got gas from one to the other. The cheaper station, I'd get about 50 miles less to the tank. They were only ever a penny difference a gallon, so I always went across the street.

Pick Up Trucks
When I go to my kayak tournaments, I put all my rods in my cab, sometimes over 20. The bed has my kayak, camp box, and cooler. In the cab is my rods, several boxes of spare tackle, kayak tackle box, seat, kayak drive, clothes bag, tent, fan, extension cords, batteries for electronic batteries, net, paddles, measuring boards, a tote of extra plastics and baits. Having a truck doesn't mean you lose cab space.

I know a guy who knows a guy
I fell asleep with my kayak box sitting out in the sun last weekend, ruined probably $100 worth of Zman baits ? Going to have to restock on at least a few of my most important colors.

Green Gizzard Shad is better than both of them ?♂️

Motor Oil, the color.
Sounds more like scuppernong than motor oil. Both are very good colors.
