  1. my mistake, yes it is matzuo. i get those names mixed up, sorry.
  2. Went out today on to a small lake out in the middle of the country at about 7 am. No bites on my new spro. about 30 minutes later i put on a yum dinger in junebug color, and bam! the action began. I caught 20+ bass this morning. all in the 1-3 lb range i would say. this pond doesn't seem to have bass bigger than about 3lb though, there are a lot of 12 inchers. And also huge sunfish. i saw a good amount that were about 10 inches, they were trying to eat my rage baby craws! With in state game laws, how can i help manage this pond? should i take out bass or sunfish. Regardless it was a fun day, saw a HUGE snapping turtle too. here are some pics i took. i also think i may have found a replacement for those pricey senko's too this was also a test for cajun red cast 12lb mono. As for the fish seeing it, i assume they did with my finesse presentation and they didn't care. this seems to be pretty abrasion resistant too. had a couple rap me up in some logs but never broke off. Who knows though, maybe i will go back to p-line. though i have been wanting to try some braid. first two pics were the biggest bass of the day.
  3. honestly i don't think so. i know guys who slay the bass on those really cheap yozuri crankbaits i always see in the clearance bins. but maybe it was something with the bait, like the color or if it had a tight or wide wobble. Small things like that can prove to be important.
  4. love fishing for them when the bite is slow for bass.
  5. roostertail or a mepps, maybe swim a grub too.
  6. i like p-line. i just spooled up with cajun red cast, no complaints yet.
  7. i love p-line. i need a sale like that.
  8. i just started fishing frogs, i had horny toads and some frogs from case plastics. i just recently got a Spro, i will see how that works out.
  9. i would say just put him on a little roostertail, it will catch him some panfish and some small bass too. if he wants to try and use lures try and teach him.
  10. how old is your brother? i got into fishing when i was young by catching bluegill. but if your brother is old enough put on a lure for him that's easier to work like a crankbait or a senko.
  11. none of them really caught my eye, almost any brand makes similar baits. might try the grass pig though.
  12. i bought a bronzeye. my local shop didn't have koppers, but they did have scum frogs.
  13. i think so, i dont think there is a big enough diameter for baitcasting gear.
  14. this is funny i just posted the same topic in reels, rods, and lines.
  15. yea if its good it might go on one or two of my spinning reels.
  16. I saw a video on facebook since i liked the cabelas page and they are promoting berkley's new line. it says it has no memory, no stretch, bigger lb test in smaller diameters. I wonder if this stuff is the reel deal. I probably won't be buying it anyway, its $20 for 150 yards of it,that's pricey in my book. here's a video if you guys want to see it. how many of you think you'll give it a shot?
  17. how do they hold up? they look super realistic.
  18. anybody ever try koppers frogs?
  19. is the hole lake covered? like you said throw frogs or try punching with some heavy gear and jigs.
  20. just got into frog fishing and all i have is horny toads. I'd like to get a couple hollow body frogs that are weedless and durable. Im going to try and stay away from any more soft plastic frogs, my horny toads dont run right anyway. What are some of your guys favorite frogs to bring on top of the slop?
  21. im sure anywhere on that river there is tons of SM and walleye
  22. My lake is started to get a lot of weeds and it was hard throwing any cranks, jigs, and what not with out having to pull a pound of green mush of your lure. I put on a frog and was just hopping it lilly pad to lilly pad and when i was going to the next one it just got sucked under, i have it 2 seconds and set the hook. i'd say he was about 2.5 lb. i think im going to throw frogs alot more now.
  23. i personally removed this because i posted it without thinking, key chain bass helped me realize that it was not suited for this site. sorry bass resource members.
  24. went out today to a local stream my first time targeting smallmouth with my fly pole. I got 2 on a popper, first time catching SM on top. nothing to big at all. both were about 10-12" but on a 5 wt. rod its fun fought harder than almost all trout i catch you guys should try it! when i hit up some of the bigger rivers with nice sized smallies ill post somemore!
