  2. nope. they are a single A school. the only catholic school we really play is central catholic and they win alot of the times.
  3. small roostertails are always fun for little kids. they always get to cast and reel.they can catch some sunfish, crappie, and bass off of those.
  4. I just picked up a small rapala skitter pop for so smallmouth and some largemouth. I didnt really mind paying the $8 for it cause its topwater and i'll most likely never use it? Is this lure good for the walking the dog technique? how many of you guys use it. Looks like a nice lure but i havent thrown it much yet. Im gonna give it a go tomorrow.
  5. i got to NH and NA are our rivals. they whooped us in baseball this year but we got them in football

  7. about 500 yards down from kennedys dam on slippery rock creek. ( either in butler co. or lawerence i think, but im from the north hills right outside pittsburgh)
  8. My dad and i were smallmouth fishing today i caught 4 he had caught 2.my dad yells he got one on and we usually fish on light gear. But he had on 8lb test, i usually use 4. I was telling him to pull him up already you got 8lb test on theres no way hes breaking you off, and he said i cant! We could tell by the way he was fighting it was a catfish. 30 inches we both thought atleast 10 pounds. Well it was awesome watching him catch that and it made the trip! heres a pic! (we also did some rafting on the tubes, good way to cool off in 95 degree weather)
  9. when i compare the mouth to your hand that fish is huge. you dont look like a small guy either, 7.5# fish i'd say
  10. i love my mossberg 500 and 1897 winchester 12 gauge. primary use hunting.
  11. bridge buster said alot. of what i would say. set up trail cams or start going where you will be hunting now and see what trails the deer are using, also see what kind of bucks are there. you HAVE to be scent free or have the wind in your favor. one of my favorite ways of bowhunting is still hunting, which is sneaking through the woulds stalking your target. that is how i got my first bow buck when i was 12. i was smiling from ear to ear . and practice practice practice! start now and find some good broad heads. if you'll be shooting more than #50 you can use expendable broadheads. i used rage. but now use some fixed blades just because the extra security knowing the will do the damage. good luck!
  12. blue basser this past year i was in a ground blind i saw a buck just like that but an 8, very symmetrical, and had a little more mass. a doe got with in 4 yards of me then busted me while the buck was at 35 yds. wow i was angry. hopefully we'll both see ours this year!
  13. best bait for carp is sweet corn. if they dont hit on that i dont think they were carp. But i see carp jumping ALL the time. Usually they will bust the surface a couple times in a row in a couple seconds.
  14. no but they are in there.
  15. This weekend my dad reunited with one of his old buddies at his camp on the upper allegheny river in tidiuote, PA. At first we were aiming to get into some big walleye after george (dad's friend) had caught a 14 lb walleye 2 years ago. After no walleye we quickly started to target the smallmouth. We caught 8 in 2 days of canoe fishing. about 8 hours fishing total. They were caught on rattle traps, blue fox spinners, tubes, and nightcrawlers. My dad and i both hooked into some HAWGS (atleast for us haha). we estimated 3.5-4lb on the 19 inchers. They were FAT. I had mine on a light action rod and 4lb test. we were anchored in the middle of the river. When i set the hook he started swimming towards me, i didnt think it was a big fish. He swam up around the top around the anchor, the line was caught on my dads chest! i thought for sure i didn't have a chance but after 5 minutes i got him to the boat were the hook fell out of his mouth! it was a great weekend hope i can get up there more!
  16. that is different, never caught a LM out of here! i love Slippery Rock Creek, cant beat the scenery or the fishing.
  17. i was fishing one of my favorite SM creeks in PA. I had tried working tubes and jerkbaits and got nothing. I started drifting a nightcrawler deep for some bass and felt tap tap and started yanking out line. I was using my light action rod with a UL reel with 4lb test. it was almost breaking me off around some of the boulders the size of trailers. I thought i had on a state record smallmouth to land later my biggest carp. i think it was 10+ pounds, it was 33 inches but i didnt have my camera and i cant find a fish weighing calculator for carp. wish i had pics but oh well great time. Ended up finishing with all different species including SM bass, carp, sunfish, and a couple rainbow and brown trout. best SM was a 16 incher.
  18. ive used cajun red cast in 2 feet of water and caught bass. they could definatly see my line so i say go for it they dont care

  21. nice. never caught bass that big on nightcrawlers. cats are a blast!
