  1. Yay Wed.! In the morning! Guess where I'll be? In the ******* airport trying to get to L.A. Horray!
  2. Cool thanks man. I always use a double palomar anyway just to be sure. I saw this nice braided 50lb line but it was bright yellow? stay away or should it not even matter?
  3. I do a lot of shore fishing and trekkin through the woods to get to a good spot. This is the best purchase ive made last year. So convienent. So durable. So cheaply priced. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-OKUMSTORAGE.html?from=basres
  4. For me its when i kick the bass back in the water. I've been trying out different shoes to see which gets the best distance. Remember kids, always practice catch and release!
  5. Awesome thanks guys. I've got a spinner that i could toss some braided on, but is there anything specific i should worry about when doing so? Like, do you use a flouro leader when you use braided in weeds or just tie it on? If so what is a good knot for braided that is quick?
  6. Jigging. At all. I literally never use jigs. Where i am there are so many weeds and it just sucks. but i guess i'll try to this year since EVERYONE on this forum loves it. Is it sad i have literally never jig fished?
  7. I do a lot of pond fishing here in MA and weeds are ALWAYS a problem. A good spot that i go to has lilly pads for half an acre but really good bass, I would go out there with my toad/mouse lures and bass would fight for it. But during the end of the 2010 season i lost a few to the weeds while reeling them in ( wont happen this year I hope with my new setup) but I am looking to replace my lost lures with something good that is similar. Do you know of any top water weedless set ups that would straight KILL bass? Price is no object.
  8. SPRO BBZ-1. Best swimbait on the market.
  9. Maybe you should just pay the tax. Hippie.
  10. That's what she said.
  11. I seem to find myself always using swivels to attach my lures to my line, i like to use different lures when i fish from the shore and i find this to be the most effective way...maybe its because I'm lazy and don't know of any quick effective knots? How much is my laziness affecting the effectiveness of my fish catching. Feel free to shun me. :-/
  12. Left all the way. I seriously cant see how people use casting rods with right hand retrieves. Blows my mind
  13. Did you notice the weird cut out in the foam next to the real that has nothing in it? Its gotta be for oil right? i literally cant think of what its for
  14. Ha! Yea you are probably right. I cant imagine what me friends would say if i said "Hey i'm going down to catch some fish this afternoon" I might get slapped. Ughh..WINTERRR DAMNN YOUUU > >
  15. Possibly interested in joining. I have a 12 foot aluminum Jon Boat (flat bottom) and a trolling motor. I live on the South Shore MA. Any idea where you will be fishing? Like, lakes ponds etc just so i can see if i would be able to schedule it in since i work full time
  16. I was going to grab the HS but after talking to Bill my boy behind the counter at Bass Pro, i went with the reg because i do a lot of crank baiting. All depends on what you do obv.
  17. Yea the Veritas is what i grabbed. Thing is LEGIT. Plus the white on gold color combo is badass.
  18. Yea thats all i want, Probably going to be a micro just for size factors and a small tackle bag i can put in my suitcase. And IDEALLY I would love to set aside an afternoon to fish some ponds there, but asking the concierge at the swank SLS Beverly Hills where can i fish? might not go over well... So i was seeing if any west coast bass heads knew of any ponds near the 90210 i could try
  19. Long story short... I used to watch Attack of the Show religiously when i was in high school and still subscribe to their news letter. Back in Sept. they did a promo with mountain dew where it was like this sweepstakes thing. It arrived in my inbox..so..naturally i entered because a couple first prizes was an Ipad and Xbox and stuff. I get a call in Oct. turns out i won the whole thing. All expense paid trip to LA with my and a guest, 3 days 2 nights they just sent me a 500 AMEX gift card for a stipend and i get to go to a taping of the show and check out behind the scenes. All pretty cool me and a couple of my boys are going out there to get crazy but is it sad that I am looking to fish for a day? The lady at comcast spotlight(the marketing company that is incharge of the contest for G4) said that since the flight is already paid for that i can come back later than what the hotel days are and that i just have to worry about getting my own hotel, so i am staying an extra two days just to dick around (there are talks of renting a car and driving to Vegas...probably going to happen). So there is the gist of it. Leaving next Wed. So is it sad that while I am out there I am looking to fish? I've never fished that side of the country before so I am curious on how it could be, just seeing peoples opinions of the matter
  20. Hey man I am from MA and recently took a trip to Foxboro with my girftcard and got a JM Gold (exchanged my JM signature series which was a gift) and paired it with a Abu Garcia med action 6.6. The combo is amazing. With the weather we have been getting all the lakes are terrible but this past friday i went down to my local pond just looking to cast this beast combo and oh my gawd. Amazing. Reel is so smooth, tried 3 different lures with diff weight and not a single backlash. In my honest opinion its sooooo worth the money. Get that rod too. Its 99.99 but feels like 200
  21. I just got my Veritas about a week ago. Its amazing. Literally feels like it weighs about 1g. I haven't used the Mojo so I can not attest to it but the Veritas is amazing. Simply put for the price.
  22. I recently won an all expense paid trip to L.A. from the channel G4. And I am going the 12th to the 16th on Jan. And ever since I just picked up my new rig ( Abu Garcia Veritas + J.M Gold casting reel) I have been itching to fish but since Massachusetts weather is really putting a damper on my fishing woes. I was wondering, would it be worth it to bring my gear with me? even maybe just a micro spinner and a small tackle box? Has anyone had experience with how much/little of a pain it is when flying with fishing gear? Does anyone who lives in Cali know of any good bass spots near Beverley Hills-ish area, ( renting a car so transportation is not an issue)? Let me know!
  23. Welcome! I am also new here and from the South Shore of MA (10 min from you). I've never fished the reservoir I'll have to check it out come fishing season.
