Anyone here hunt deer with a slug gun? It's all I can use here in New York in the counties I hunt. What do y'all use? I used to run a Rem. 11-87 12ga with 3" copper solids and I killed a lot of deer with it then I sold it and switched to a 20ga. I love the 20 shoots flatter iv gone threw a few slugs with it trying to find one I like. I used to shoot the federal Barnes expander 3" and loved them never had a deer take a step after the trigger was hit all bang flop not a twitch. Then I used hornady SST for a few seasons because I couldent get the federals but iv only had 1 bang flop deer and quite a few runners needed 2 or more shots and that's with the first hit being very solid te still take off and after recovery it's almost like the tipped SST never expanded or very very little. This year I'm stocking up on 3" Winchester elites iv seen my buddy shoot probably 25 deer over the years with my old 11-87 all were knocked sideways dang near when hit and either crumbled or ran I think the farthest was 30yards and we watched it do the death wobble and go down. So who else runs slug guns either smooth bore or rifled. Iv always ran sabots all my barrels are rifled.

That's crazy idk what it was it struck a nerve with me idk if it's my kids are the same ages just about or what.

My father in law burns wood in the den it gets stupid hot in that room haha. I fall asleep if I put my feet up I have to sit straight up feet flat on the floor or it's lights out in under a minute. Sitting up gives me like 5 minutes to get interacting or doing something other wise it's lights out. It drys my contacts out though only thing I hate about it.

At the moment I'm a stay at home single dad trying to keep my two boys from killing eachother lol. I'm right off a deployment however and on my 90 days till I have to return to work and in riding the 90 days out to spend time with my kids. I will be re-enlisting for another 6 years in the Army National Guard this month though and am working on gettin on another deployment ASAP. I'm a infantryman(11B) in the army and will probably stay a grunt for my 20 years it's fun they let me play with cool toys. On the civilian side when not drilling or deployed I'm a teachers aide for a high school level tech program teaching agriculture, diesel, heavy equipment, small engine and equipment operations. Doesn't pay much but it's awesome health care and I get all summer and holiday off. I may go to my brother in laws union next week and start working as a roofer though doing flat roofs better insurance and better pay but crappy hours but I like the physical labor.

Go with the veritas! Mine has been used and abused even slammed in a car door still works like a charm even with the but section a little loose and cracked from the door.

What ya hunting for? I belong to several all with great info but they are all geared towards predator hunting or just shooting in general.

He already has a bow he got for Christmas he asks every day when we are gonna go shoot bucks like seriously every day. Now the kayak that may pose a problem but he will just have to learn lol. He just cleaned his first rifle also he kept saying his .22 was dirty so I got out my stuff and taught him how to clean it!

well I am purchasing a kayak later this week and while not a bait monkey the bow monkey and I have an appointment at the bow shop later tonight that will get pricey but so worth it.

My youngest is 18mo he doesn't talk yet I wish he would things would be sooooo much easier lol. He knows some words but not enough to like carry on.

that how it used to be with me or when I had funds she said no but now its all working in my favor I have extra funds set aside and I'm running into deals and there is no women to tell me no! I LOVE IT

Im lucking out I hd a big tax return this year so I paid off all my bills and set some aside and still have quite a bit left over so I'm treating my self and my boys they keep getting spoiled as well to the things my ex wife has been saying no to over the last 5 years its kinda nice feeling to be out of debt(all but my truck payment) all 3 of my bank accounts are in the ++++ and my tackle bin is over flowing as so is my hunting gear I'm taking the new bow to the shop tonight to get tuned and set up. It would have been much better if she didn't blow all my money but Iv recouped pretty well. Few more rods to update my old walmart and BPS low budget stuff and some jigs and rage tail baits and I will be all set oh and maybe 1 more bait caster.

Thats easy...............your most favorite bass lure you have! I usually throw Terminator spinner baits in the spring and catch a ton I like the Terminators because they dont get destroyed. I also catch a bunch on swim jigs.

I keep getting it bad. I also just picked up a Stradic Ci4 and the revo premier spinning and veritas last week. Yesterday I bought some mini umbrella rigs and 12 packs of various tungsten bullet sinkers and a new spinner bait box and line spooling station. I have also picked up several packages of rage tail thumpers a few days ago. Tomorrow I plan on placing a big order for Siebert jigs and some Northstar then over to get some moaner hooks and more rage baits.
