I always catch fish on bad casts doesn't seem to mater the lure though jigs and frogs are top producers for the backlash bass. Iv caught on cranks this way had it hit the water and backlash sit there picking it out just to have it nailed from the twitch of me reeling all the slack up. I almost look forward to back lashes its the only way I have the patience to fish so slow.

I hade the clerk double check with the portable scanner because mine was marked 99.97 and I wanted to be certain befor going up and looking like an idiot.

Try starting the hook slightly behind the tip on the bottom so the "head" of the fluke sits ontop of the hook instead of the middle like u would normaly. It gives it like a bill if u will to make it surface and jump like a fleeing minnow

All the guys at work fish the niagara river I'm dieing to iv never fished erie or the niagara I was always intimidated by the current but now I want to try now that iv been fishing the dams close to home. Iv lived within walking distance of the oak my whole life and never fished it till this summer because of the current. Iv been missing out big time I got a walleye out of there last week as well.

Yeah I remember talking bout it when fishing alice about pop or something. That's another thing we've butted heads about giving him coffee and pop then last night there like " I think he might have diebetes" well no crap they shovel pop and coffee down the kids throat. Probably why our neice is 11 and weights 130lbs. We yell at them constantly about it. Me and the wife have agreed no more nana and papa visits over night.

In the spring I forgot I use them on shakey heads never did get around to slider heads though but I heard it works awsome

Been there done that what I went to school for all them commercials on spikes power block got to me as a teen. Now I teach diesel mech. I graduated from Baran Tech I took there version of hotrod u and custom plus for metal fab and custom paint. Right after graduating I was offered to go to bmw school turned that down came home jumped right into nissan/infinity dealership and got a side job working for a race team outa watkins glenn. It was fun well it last I still like wrenching and building but it wasn't my cup of tea. I wish I still had my "oops box" of all my blown turbos melted pistons snapped cranks every builder has a stack of parts that failed but scrap prices were to high to resist lol.

I rig them on a small keel weighted hook from time to time. My new way to fish them that's been deadly is on a jackal ishad jig head nose hooked. Wacky has worked also but its usually a last ditch effort for me I throw weighless,ishad nose hooked,keel, wacky in that order till I find what they like its usually the first 2 though

Got out saterday night after a few hours of whining that it was "perfict" day to fish. I only made it out for 2 hours but its better then nothing. Started off slow and I thought maybe I was wrong about it being "perfict" so I said one more cast but I'm gonna let it sit a little longer. Bombed my jig out past the current let it soak for about 20 sec started to drag and BAM! fish on I caught 10 fish in 10 casts out of the same pocket I was working the whole time just to fast. Nothing to big but here's some pics from spot A. Ok maybe not tinypic is being dumb and won't let me upload anything. After catching 10 outa that hole I went ontop of the bridge and caught a few more but dinks and I mean dinks like 6inchers I have no clue how they got the jig in there mouth. It was still cool they were going nuts having a feeding frenzy u could look down and the waters gin clear and see bronze gold tiger flashes as they were feeding on what ever was down there. The only problem was I couldent get em to bite the current was very strong and I was having a hard time timing my jig to wash into areas because if I pitched to where they were feeding it just got swept over top of them and behind them. From that spot I went up to the mouth of the river wich is a power plant with 3 outlet pipes and same thing looking at the pipes there must of been a 100 crappie and smallmouth swiming in the pipe just frenzing over food washing down it was nuts. So I pitched my jig into the dead space between pipes and befor it hit bottom I felt a hard thump and fish on biggest of the day. That was the only one I landed there I lost a few and ran out of trailers because they kept biting the claws of my rage I'm not happy bout that lol. Then on the walk out the sun was gone just enough light to see my way out and see stuff on the bank of the lake and I see what looks like a ferret. Its all black and just sneaking along till it seen me sneaking close to him. It was a all black mink 2nd one I've seen this year he was a cute little bugger stoped and stared at me for like a minute as I stared back then he scurried off and I did to because the skeeters were having a all u can eat buffet on my ankles. All in all it was a blast I love smallies even if they are dinks and that mink made my night almost more then the smallies.

I love lever .22s there so much fun to plink with my best friend has a 39a we used to shoot golf balls with it seeing how far we can get it across the pasture plinking away. Plus they make great squirrel and rat guns that little lever .22 killed a lot of rats outa the grain room.

My wifes madder then I am but she's a mouse and won't say anything and her family don't like it when I speak up cuz they know I don't take there crap and won't be treated the way they treat my wife.

Same here but my close 2nd is coyote hunting then deer but now I'm into ice fishing so who knows now. Training dogs is a blast I think frustrating at times but a ton of fun and rewarding when they click and start performing how u want. I haven't trained any dogs for coon just pheasants and rabbits its not to time consuming I don't think I have a few books on it and they recomend only training for 20minutes twice a day because like kids puppies get bored. I went that route an I had a show bread cocker spanial pointing,retrieving pheasents in less then a week my wiem took a little longer but that dogs CRAZY!

Thanks for the replys guys I think a lot was just all the other things they been teaching him that all just snow balled like the punching,swearing, calling the migrant workers "choncho" from the nacho libre movie. But I will admit he does try to be like daddy the most he will call me while I'm working and tell me he shot a buck or caught a "appie" I know both are lies but its cute and awsome I have him into fishing and hunting already. I think the only bad habbit iv tought him is if u asking "noah what do u do to boobies?" He pretends to motor boat. My wife hates it but its better then the pinching he used to do lol.

He definitly doesn't forget things in 5 min wait till u have kids and u will see. He's 2 and knows the difrence between a pike"ike" crappie "appie" and a bass he can say that normal. You ask him who the bird pooped on 4 months ago now and he will point to the tree and say aunt mimi.

I don't think you and Big-O know how to catch little fish lol. This year hasn't been as good as last year but I avg most in the 2-3 range for large mouth and iv got maybe 10 over 5lbs this year a lot of 4s though. Last year all I seemed to catch was bass in the 4-7 range. Small mouth this year has been pathetic for me and even my best smallies are pathetic to dwights my smallies are ranging from a few inches up to 3lbs this year but mostly 1 and 2lbers last year I couldent catch one under 3 and I had 200 by june! 3 being over 6. This year I think iv caught 50 smallies to this day.

I went to pick up my son today from his gma my mother inlaw and they got him smoking! I went nuts he's 2! There just candy cigs but no 2 yearold should be pretending to smoke. He carrys around a pack of candy smokes offering them to people "moke out side moke moke" I'm like freaking out. What would you do in this situation iv already blown up over it screaming and yelling. Plus on top of it they think its funny they tought him to say "lucky you" but it sounds like you know what. So I now have a 2 year old riding his power wheels tractor around offering u smokes and telling you off.

Yup my mistake I looked in the bass pro catalog after making my post and see that. Id hold both on a rod make sure u like the feel of the c4. I have the cheaper bcx and love it but it quite diffrent and awkward at first.

Id go with the revo s it will handle pike just fine and be well rounded for others. The c4 I'm pretty sure has a low retrieve speed line rec. So it might not be good for some bass techniques. Id take a look at the veritas rods as well I have a 7'6MHF paired with a revo sx and love it.

Use braid and a sensitive rod and you will go nuts its like night and day
