  1. I just picked up a pack of 4a cranks from dicks they got a package of real craw series 3 4a cranks in each real craw color and 3 xcalibur xr50 lipless for 19.99 there's nest robber moss back craw and ditch craw in the pack. Can't wait to try em out
  2. Thanks I also just picked up some rage craws today also on sale dam bait monkey has been yelling at me lately lol
  3. i guess "the bite" seeing the big swirl or splash of them smashing a lure on the top or just under the surface. or that flash of the gill plate or the side of the fish when it smacks the lure. I like the visial bites the best. if i cant see nothing i gotta go with the fight
  4. i hit the lake today on lunch and it was more misreable then my first time ice fishing. 39* 24mph E winds right in my face cuz i can only access the west and north ends so i stand right on the NW corner. next time i go there im heading right to the falls that feed this particular lake all the local old timers said thats where ppl are laying into the SMB and eyes with occasional northern.
  5. i was throwing a bandit flatt maxx 8-10ft i think today had 1 hit when i paused after bouncing it off a rock but it came off 2 sec into the fight. i did catch a ton of sticks and leaves though and a huge chunk of tree bark
  6. how big is this pond when i fish ponds i tend to do "laps" around the bank till i find a hot spot. but if this pond u talk about is quite large then this may be difficult
  7. yup sure does work i got 10 pieces and have used it for all of em. u just get funny looks when ya pull it out in study hall and start rubbing it on your arm i thought i was a cool guy getting tatts in high school. on a side note iv used KY to get tight radiator hoses on.......seriously
  8. idk much about trapping minnows but iv been seeing big balls of minnows jumping outa the water when i throw lures into em or my line bumps one they all seem to go nuts jumping. im near buffalo the water temp is in the mid to low 40s
  9. idk why but i never classed lippless as a crank even though they are i just call em traps and cast em a mile and "yo yo" them back slamming smallies all the way there the only one i have connfidence in.
  10. he has to **** the hammer back befor he fires with his off hand due to it being a old single action. so chances are no if you watch carefully when he draws he drags the hammer over his off hand cocking and firing the weapon in one motion.
  11. if i get a STX that pretty much taps me out and leaves no room for tackle or rods. i realized yesterday im out of almost all my worm hooks not good so im thinking 2 orras and vendettas to match then a ton of hooks
  12. got that one on lunch break deadsticking a craw crankbait around what felt like football to basketball sized rocks spread all over a crushed pebble bottom. threw a jig later that night in the same area no luck threw the crank and hooked into another but he threw the lure on the first jump. so im heading back there today at 11 on lunch.
  13. i cant remember all of em but most are bandits theres a few coffin billed flatt maxx ones deep and mid billed, then some bomber square bills mid depth, and then some bomber round deep billed ones. i need to get a new lot of shallow runners im depleted from the pike last season
  14. i was at gander last night and they had a bin marked "$1 on marked plastics" so after digging threw i found some Rage 10" annacondas picked up the only 2 packs in the bin. whats everyones take on these lures im thinking just t rig and drag back. i usually dont fish worms so im not sure.
  15. just got my first SMB of the season today his belly was crunchy feeling probably with crawfish tube and jig time
  16. if you listen in the video he says there blanks the hot embers pop the ballons another old trick they use is wax bullets and ground up walnut shells. all of which are pretty harmless unless ur holding it point blank to your face
  17. well i went out for a few casts on lunch and well i got 1 hit and hooked and landed that fish. it was in bout 6ft of water caught it on a storm crawfish crank looking thing cant remeber the name. i tried chatter baits and spinners befor that then switched to the craw lure made a few casts. on the last cast of this outing i let it sink well looking at the time started my retreive after 2 jerk pauses i felt that old feeling from last year set the hook and bam first SMB of the year his belly was loaded full of what felt like crawfish kinda crunchy feeling. id throw a pic up of it but the email is down here at work so i cant get the pic onto my work computor.
  18. lake alice is nothing but rocks but its crazy deep the fishing hotline said there getting alot of crappie and rock bass by the bridges though. then glennwood is sand and rock im heading there for lunch in a few. then the rivers are all rock and occasional soft muddy spots that are just big sink holes.
  19. thats a whole diffrent story lol bring that up yeah iv gone weeks with out changing and just baby wiping the stank areas. take em off and your uniform stands at attention without being in it.
  20. see i always feel i wont get strikes with grass and crap dangling off the lure thats why ya pull it off every cast so when it gets gunked up almost instantly i get bumed and put it back
  21. i noticed theres leaves on the trees i forgot what them looked like and that they were green man i hate WNY lol nice catch keep it up
  22. im in the same boat i have a box full of cranks that just collects dust because i never use them cuz im constantly pulling leaves or grass zebra mussels off the dang thing. i had some manns -1 but a few pike made off with the last of em last season i loved them things especialy the all chrome. there the only cranks i had luck with though. i fish off the shore so i always ruled them out due to not being in the strike zone long enough to be very effective. so i have no confidence in them. ill try some of your guys tips and see if i cant bag a few more this year if i can put the flukes down and throw cranks
  23. thanks guys hopefuly the weather starts to level out and get consistant we just had some rain yesterday and now sun today and tomorrow i'll be out both days. plus i got the next week off of work so ill get em figured out. the rivers are very wadeable thats usually what i do. there are tons i mean tons of gobys and craws in the river already right up to the first barrier so im thinking smallies shouldent be far behind. hopefully some lilly pads start sprouting soon to provide cover cuz one of my closest spots is just a big soft bottom resivour above a d**n but theres nothing for cover but pads when they grow. its pretty shallow to 1-4ft makes up 90% of it with a 12ft channel right inline with the falls and that channels only 15ft across maybe. you can cast clear across is and drag threw it just collect alot of dead leafs on the hooks or weight
  24. iv tried alot of other companys iv got some pfluegers, quantium, diawas, and pinnical reels and just pucked up a revo and honestly out of all of them i like the abu reels i used to use abu and never had a issue so im going with abu.
