  1. No way to tell brother. But I bet there are some pros bidding on that wiggle wart at the bottom of the third page you have listed. $26.00, makes me wish I would have kept mine.
  2. What kind of spoons are they? That looks nice.
  3. That fish smacking Aaron Martins has to be in the top five greatest sports moments of all times. I'm surprised he didn't cry.
  4. Yeah. I was just smacking myself because I was looking at all my 200's and dint think of thier deeper diving crankbaits. I was looking at the Normans. Do they have a wide wobble or a tighter action? The smallies in the Ohio don't seem to respond to a wide rolling action any time of year in my experience.
  5. This is the first I've heard of anyone doing that too. I started rigging my flukes sideways last year. Now I dont think I'll do it any other way.
  6. Thanks guys. Completly forgot about Bandits and I a thousand of the 200's.
  7. Yeah, chompers is that bad. All of them.
  8. Can anyone point me in the direction of a good small bodied deep diving crankbait (12'-20')? I picked up a couple SK 3XDs the other day, but I've never been a a huge fan of their cranks. Thanks in advance for any help.
  9. Seems to me they sink a bit faster than a Senko, but I'm liking that. The Lime Fever color is really nice.
  10. do a good stretch routine. Your right on Blue basser. As a former personal trainer and now the PT instructor and monitor for my unit, warming up before and stretching after are the just as important as the workout itself. It may sound dumb but I always do a little stretch and workout (pushups, situps) before going fishing in the morning. Doing this clears my mind and gets the blood flowing to wake me up, this is better than a cup of coffee. As far as weight training for fishing you can search workouts for golfers and tennis players. Crossfit is good stuff too. Low weight, high rep sets are perfect for fishing. Hope this helps a little.
  11. I like the looks of this. River current would make a bait go crazy with this rig. Do you think the second split ring on the weight would weaken your knot easily?
  12. X2 on the SOB mini-me spinnerbait. It's a hidden weight spinner, the 3/8 oz. has the same head size as a 1/4 oz. The wire comes staight out of the head and then bends back over the head about an inch over it. This gives it a very compact look. I had used a hundred different spinners trying to find the perfect one for the Ohio River. I've never had one roll on me, even in the swift current coming over shallow points and bars. If you do decide to get some order them staight from SOB and get the twisted loop line tie. A big smallie can straighten out the wire with the R-bend. This has happened a few times to me but they bend back very easy and still run straight.
  13. Be careful with this reel. I have two of them that I bought in 2009. These reels were awsome for about 3-4 months. Sometimes the spool clutch dosn't want to disengage all the way and it makes the most god awful grinding noise if I dont catch it. Hopefully for you they have corected this problem. But, if you notice you didnt hear a click when you push the thumb bar down I would advise winding up and hitting it again. If you dont all hell is about to break loose. I almost jumped out of the boat the first time it happened. Other than that it is a great casting reel and the drag is rock solid.
  14. Just tie it straight to the braid. If your good at casting and retrieving you wont have to worry that much about getting the line wrapped up in the hooks. I dont know what punkers have on them, but if you want to keep a walking bait in place put a split ring on the front. Floro sucks for a leader on poppers if your going to work it slow. It will absolutley sink on you and take your popper with it.
  15. 3/8 oz. SFT tackle tube head with a weed guard. The 100 pack is good value for a great jig head.
  16. Cabin Creeek makes a great spider jig. The skirt looks like a hydra skirt, but has a much thinner profile. Great price too. Cant beat their tubes either.
  17. Someone who sits on a bucket and throws every fish they catch in it, i.e. my dad
  18. Where are you from in West Virginia? I'm From the Northern panhandle and mostly fish the Ohio River, but travel up and down the state fishing all the different lakes and rivers. If you do fish the Ohio, Gulp minnows (3 in.), small tubes and Roboworms all nose hooked. But my best producer on a dropshot for all the rivers and lakes in West Virginia has been a wacky rigged Flick Shake worm. Hope this helps.
  19. I dont care if there is a 10 pounder sitting by a stump holding a sign that says "WILL BITE!!". If I'm fishing from the bank geese ruin my whole day. Been attacked by them one to many times.
  20. Never had a problem with either one slipping. Just remember to wet the knot before cinching down. Got in a rush a few times during tournaments and broke fish off.
  21. I've had a Spook tied on a St. Croix LT Teaser 7'0 Med. action (the old one with a full grip) for several years now. The looser tip on it lets you keep the bait in one place.
  22. I've been looking at it for a while too. The reviews don't look to good. If they update it, it sounds like its pretty much useless. Hope someone on here used it.
  23. Can't beat the Costa 580 lense. If your rough on them go with the 580P. As far as frame goes that depends on the size of your head. I have the hammerhead frame cause I got a huge melon. The wide sides on them block out any sun coming from that angle.
  24. I would contact someone. You may be able to use what you have and just not be able to buy anymore in the state. Maybe a dumb question but, are tournament directors going to enforce this?
  25. Most smartphones have an option on the camera to fip the screen so you can see yourself. I've taken several real good pics like this and it's a lot easier to find something to prop them up on than a bulky camera, and its much easier to load the pics because they are a computer.
