  1. JT that's what my son said , and I hope that's the way it went. If they want to sell more motors they best laugh it off.
  2. Thanks for the replies. There's no gps-mapping or otherwise sonar anywhere in my near future. But I'd like to be able to fish a spot without standing on the trolling motor the whole time trying to keep from drifting across the lake.
  3. Do motors that feature spot lock have gps built in, or do you need a gps sonar connected in order for it to work? I have to plead ignorance here, thanks.
  4. He fishes the FLW tour, but made it to the classic by winning one of the southern opens. There are other guys running Evinrude on both tours but he had the only one at the classic. He said " I ran that Mercury all up and down the lake" (or similar, but did say Merc) felt bad for the guy then thought hell, he's on stage at the classic and I'm in the kitchen watching it on the computer!
  5. Well those alconite 20 h's never made it to Florida so I switched it to a Sic instead. Cost $5.00 more but at least it's on it's way. I didn't realize the delivery guy had to change horses 3 times between Foley and Oviedo. I always have and always will love Fuji stuff. It the stuff against which all others are judged.
  6. Yeah Wesley, and no they did not have to leave, he named the wrong motor co.
  7. A guy comes on stage at the classic with a big bag of fish and proceeds to thank his motor sponsor for their support unit being there to keep him up and running even though he's the only guy there with that motor. He's wearing their hat and the company name's on his jersey. Day 2 bad day, no fish, and bad day cause he proceeds to say he ran the another brand of motor all over the lake looking for fish etc. Now I realize extreme nervousness gets you at a time like this but this is the biggest event in bass fishing and I'm sure his sponsors would have liked to hear their own name. What happens to a guy in that situation?
  8. Makes me wish I'd read the date on original post before I typed all the crap above!
  9. I don't care for metal rings much, but if I was going to use them my first choice would be Pac Bay Minimas. They look way better than recoils.
  10. Could you give the rod model and some specs, approx. age and is it an XPS powerhump handle. Does the buttcap screw off in order to use an XPS weight kit? I have 3 of these from the original Rick Clunn sig. series and the blanks are great, they came with all Fuji Sic guides, and I am in the process of rebuilding all 3. The cork is some of the worst I've ever seen, but otherwise they're very well made rods. I managed to shave 1.5 oz. off the one I've completed so far. I've seen nothing so far to indicate that the blank wouldn't be all the way through. Mine have exposed blank reelseats so that's a pretty good sign. Forgot to say mine are casting rods.
  11. Scott your guess would be exactly correct. That would be 500mi. from Orlando. While not ordered from Mudhole, they are coming from very nearby. I'm not casting blame on the dealers here.
  12. Now you're speaking my language! If I'm not complaining about backorders, I am about shipping costs. Gotta love Utmost Enterprises for that reason alone.
  13. By the way, we should all appreciate the freedom of speech we have on this forum. Some forums don't care for this type of topic to be discussed. And I don't care a great deal for censorship.
  14. I'm waiting for an Alconite BKLAG-20-H ordered on 2/23. Scott, sounds like we're both waiting for the same slow boat! Thanks for the offer but I guess I'll just hang in there, or else switch it to a black Sic (probably what they want everybody to do). I bet if I wanted Torzite I'd be able to get as many as I wanted! I need the rest of the stuff on the order to get started anyway. I'm a hobby builder so I'm not really holding any one up but my son, and I think he might be able to get by without it a while longer by the looks of my garage. Lynn
  15. Do you builders come across situations when guides are backordered? This is a new experience for me, but I don't order a lot of stuff.
  16. If I could throw it on a baitcaster, why would I want to? Much better suited to spinning.
  17. I think the guy that invented the casting reel put the crank on the wrong side. When we evolved sufficiently we moved it to the left side. I cannot see any reason to cast and then change hands to reel.
  18. The original PQ always sold for $100 except during the Spring Fishing Classic, when they sold for $80. I think if you can get a better value than these for $50, go for it! So far it seems the Spring Fishing Classic is limited to stores only this year, which sucks. 2hr.s one way for me.
  19. Thanks for the replies.
  20. From a bass fishing standpoint, when is an x-fast blank desirable?
  21. Thanks Mike, I do my own building, and I guess I'll have to get set up to do some comparisons for myself. I've got a reel for you to service in the near future, getting ready to send it out. Thanks, Lynn
  22. 2010 Abu Vendetta blank, does anyone know what blank (available to builders) eg. RX-7, IM-8, IM-6 etc would compare to it? In other words if you wanted to replace such a blank with the same characteristics, where would you turn?
  23. Gee, I thought my previous post would get a bite. Seriously Ray, they look awesome. Lynn
  24. Just stay with it, you'll get the hang of it!
  25. S.Hovanek, this is the best, most succinct response to an important question I've ever seen on a forum. Excellent response.
