  1. Sounds good Mike .... I thought that would be the case. So it looks like 6:30 - 7:00 on Sat 7/23.
  2. oh oh .... just checked the DCR web site for the tournament schedule and there are tournaments on both days. Not sure if Whitehall is still decent to fish when there is a tourney there buts perhaps one of the more experienced guys may know. DCR list 30 parking spaces. 3. I'll have a seat open on my boat.....6:30-7:00 would be my preference but I am not driving far so lets hear from some of the folks with a bit of drive. - brian
  4. Ok folks ..... 7/23 is less than 2 weeks away.... I think it is time to get a count on who would be able to make it and decide if there is enough interest to make it worth trying to coordinate a get together. I can make it on the 23rd at Whitehall in Hopkinton Ma. - brian
  5. The 23rd or 24th works for me.
  6. Been fishing over at Wallum Lake the last few days .... been catching a good bunch of SMB's .... mostly small guys but a few good ones mixed in. Been catching them on both the east and west side mostly on watermellon and blk spotted Zoom Fat Albert curly tail grub. Today I brought my 7 month old Boxer out for his first day on the boat and fishing.... seemed to have a good time trying to get a lick on the fish when they come out. He eats everything in sight ... i.e. decks, furniture, ect so made sense he would try to get at the fish also. Nice lake over there... good ramp, plenty of parking, fishing is usually good, water clean and some sandy spots to swim a little. Best to go in the morning as the pleasure craft start showing up around 11 - 12. - Brian
  7. Nice ..... the Cumara sure looks and feels like a sweeeeet rod! I've been eying them for a while but then the price tag comes into view. Let us know how you like it. - brian
  8. Rhino .... Just like the not so famous Monkee's song "I'm A Believer" ..... I am now all set with a light 6' finesse rod...lol Ok I'll propose a date .....so the weekend after the July 4th week/weekend is July 16/17 .... how does one of those days work? .... either one would be fine with me. - tate
  9. Whitehall sounds good to me as well. I think I'm still good for most weekends. After seeing Grampa1114 work those Sluggo's this weekend at Quinsig I think the rules committee should consider banning them for the day. lol - brian
  10. Hey looking fish Bill! - brian
  11. Hey Rhino glad you brought this up ..... count me in ...... should be able to work with whatever date/time the group decides on.... no weekend work on the schedule so just have to worry about an emergency which is rare (knocking on wood). - brian
  12. Awesome ...... My favorite fishing time is with my kids. Based on the background in the picture it looks like the water level is way up? - tate
  13. Hi All, Looking for a recommendation for a dealer to purchase a fish finder from and have them install it? Anywhere close to Central Mass would be great. BPS is very close in Foxboro .... does anyone have experience with BPS installation quality and support? I know the install is fairly straight forward but would prefer to get it done correctly the first time. I have been waiting for Hummenbird 597ci HD DI combo unit but they have been back-ordered for a while now. But I am thinking for a few bucks more (and available) the 788ci HD DI is network capable device so if I want to get a bow mounted unit down the road I could connect, and share info with the one I am purchasing for the console. I am all ears on device recommendations as well. Thanks in advance - brian
  14. That is a terrific SMB fmoore!!! Nicely done
  15. That must have been convenient leaving your boat there.... my sons fish was not in Winthrop .... we never had much luck there but there is public access. If you are in downtown Holliston on 16 traveling East ... take a right at the Bank across from Mobile .... you go up there a couple streets and one of the rights will bring you down to a small park/beach. The lake will be on your left and the ramp is to the back left of the parking lot. Let me know and I can get exact directions. - brian
  16. We live on the Holliston border .... you must have fished Winthrop ... my old friend Bruno caught a state pin fish in that place.
  17. Thank you ...... She was 21 x 16.5 ..... the girth was amazing.
  18. I lost the bet for first fish on the new boat. My son Mike caught this one last night....we measured, pics and back he went. He was a biggie for sure...may have been a state pin ..... but glad we released him.... I guess he has bragging rights for a while.
  19. Your fish look great guys .... nice variety .... keep hitting them hard! - tate
  20. gotta luv this state .... go from a process that can accommodate the entire user base to a requirement for a computer, web access AND a credit card. Then in the process charge $3 more....you got to be kidding ..... rather than making it an available option and if you choose to use it allow you to save a few bucks for the efficiencies.
  21. Nice boat ..... congrats!
  22. If it were me I would buy the best boat you can afford and then add the extra's as you go. That will get you in a good boat and you can spend a little time shopping and figuring out your best options and equipment to set it up. The exception would be if you got a discount on buying a bunch of the extra's with the a boat or all the extras as a package. I bought a quality 12' jon boat probably around 20 years ago .... used it every year .... and with a wash and scrub it still looks great. I just bought a new Alumacraft mod V and hope to get many years out of it.
  23. Enough already ..... where is the spring weather!
  24. You know that is a great idea .... heck if they can make cupcake wars work then with all the folks that fish it should be easy!!
