  1. Santuit was a consistent 47 degree's. Shallow (average 5-7') Cape Cod lake that heats up quickly but also cools down just as fast. Whitehall a shallow Reservoir (5-9') in Ma. close to the intersection of Mass Pike and 495 ..... 10 days ago varied from 46 - 49 degree's.
  2. Hi Guys ..... I thought I was going to Maine that weekend but that may not be the case now. I can't commit to attending or having an open seat at this time but once I am sure I will let the group know. Not being sure I have no vote but locations do not matter to me as long as it is good fishery and relatively boat safe. Hope I can make it to see old friends again and meet some of you new guys. - Tate
  3. hey guys .... looks like I am going to be away on 4/15 and won't be able to make it. hope you all have a great day. - tate
  4. I am certainly not going to insult anyone's vehicles, everyone has different requirements and likes.... and I fully understand and agree with Grampa's point that often time the vehicles we use to tow our "toys" is also what we use to commute. I commute into Boston everyday so to me it is most important I get decent fuel mileage with high weight tow ability. I just bought an F150 3.5l V6 Ecoboost which gives me reasonable mileage averaging around 17-18. It is silly overkill on power to tow my boat but plenty to tow my 24' enclosed race car trailer fully loaded. I am really surprise to hear the reported mileages of some of the man truck big engines.
  5. I bring a brother like friend with me in my boat, he has real crappy gear and no lures so I let him use some of my rod/reels and provide the lures that he should use, I put him in the right spots and help him with the pattern for that day .... so basically full guide service. And then he out fished me and I never hear the end of it. My wife would answer this with .... "when my fishing partner (me) annoys me when he kneels on and breaks my expensive sunglasses ..... then 10 minutes later he drops my smartphone in the lake!"
  6. I use Firefox on Win7 and had the same problem. I believe it use to work but broke around a month ago. Same as you it worked in other sites. It has started to work again for me. I suspect one of the Firefox updates first broke it and has now fixed it. I am running version 10.0.2
  7. Nice place to fish .... it is about 15 minutes past the Bourne Bridge. Mashpee-Wakeby Ponds are two connected natural kettle hole ... Wakeby Pond is the northern basin and Mashpee Pond is the southern basin. http://www.mass.gov/dfwele/dfw/habitat/maps/ponds/pdf/dfwmashp.pdf
  8. My go to is a 3 1/4" Zoom Fat Albert in Watermelon/red flake rigged on a 1/8oz jig head. The 1/8oz gives it a slow natural fall but fast enough for tail action.
  9. That's great guys .... 3 new jobs just from our small group.... perhaps the economy is picking up. Congratulations to all! Looking forward to seeing the guys from last year and meeting the new folks that will be joining us this year. - tate
  10. Deak ..... Grampa and I live just off 495 in Bellingham and Milford respectively ..... both towns are about 10 miles south of Mass Pike/495 intersection. We both have boats so we will both be driving and we usually meet at Home Depot Bellingham. You are welcome to ride with one of us and if you can car pool with someone closer to the NH border them you guys can hook up with us for the remainder of the ride. I think someone posted in the thread from Westford. - Tate
  11. 4/15 works for me. Mashpee would be a great choice. Boater with back seat open for a forum member that commits to being there on that day. - Tate
  12. Out fishing with my wife….. she catches a nice LMB…. I try to help get it in the boat but ended up kneeling and crushing her Costa sunglasses. Then back at the ramp I am taking her jacket out of the boat and drop her cell phone in the lake. Oh well it could have been worse …….
  13. Always an interesting topic .....
  14. Jig you are absolutely right.....at BPS ...free parking, no admission, more rod, reels, lures and tackle .... plenty of boats, marine gear, electronics, ect. Too bad as that use to be a great show.
  15. That show has been getting smaller and smaller over the last 20 years with this year being much smaller than years past. I guess the show is under new ownership but not sure the reason for it being all jammed in that one room and a half room. It was really to tight for checking out new equipment. That said I was able to pick up a few things and check out some new rods. With new ownership I think next year will be the tell tale for direction of that show.
  16. Glad to see the interest guys ...... we really do have a good time with these and it is a good opportunity to fish some different waters and to meet and share knowledge between anglers. Hoist-n-hawg do you usually get a Mass license? - Tate
  17. Yes we will ..... there are a few of us on the forums that fish together and have alot of fun doing it...
  18. I picked up some non-lead jigs and had a chance to meet and talik with Tim from Timmy Tom non-lead lures who came up to Massachusett all the way from Arkansas to attend the show! I will be placing an order with him soon for the rest of the non-lead products to complete the transition to non-lead due to the new Massachusett law. I also bought a Yamaha 9.9F and trailer for a 12' Jon boat I have for fishing small ponds and rivers. The star of the day was 2012 Ranger Z521, what a setup. Tate
  19. I use to fish Santuit all the time ..... did they get the water circulators installed yet? I think they were doing 3 of them.
  20. My new F150 has the sticker shown below on the windshield. That won't be coming off for as long as I own the truck however not sure how much of the components were made in the USA. I'm thinking the terrific Sony sound system/Nav/Sync might not be.
  21. I did check with him ...... he said he sold the car. Sorry no help but like one of the above posts says the VWVortex is a great reference....probably post in one of the regional forums. - Tate
  22. I don't know about that one.... survided yes ..... but with Goverment bailout money. If Ford said it I would agree.
  23. My kid was a die hard VW guy (active on Vortex) and I recall he had that problem with one of his Jetta's. I sent him your question and will post his response when I get it. - Tate
  24. Tom having purchased more race car bodies than I wish to talk about, I will say your fiberglass work is AMAZING! Nice and thin (good for racing it is not a boat hull), consistent thickness across the panel and from panel to panel, strong yet flexible until mounted and impecable gel coat finish. Some of the best fiberglass body work I've seen in my 15+ years of racing. - Tate
  25. Wow .... thanks for sharing the story .... it really underscores the reality that the great servicemen and women go through to defend our country for the good of all of us. Hearing it first hand from someone like you really helps us to appreciate the BIG TIME sacrifice that our soldiers make. It seems words are hardly adequate to express our appreciation but Thank You so so much, stay safe and God Bless America! Godspeed Brian Bodio Milford, Ma.
